Recentcern collider data on anomalousZ° events suggest, among other possibilities, a composite structure for the weak intermediate vector bosons. We present a short review of these developments and examine how far the scenario for weak interactions with such composite models of the weak vector bosons presents a viable alternative to the standard electroweak theory. In particular, we show how the scale of the dynamics underlying the composite structure is set by the magnitude of the weak mixing angle sin2 θ w and point out the possibility of accommodating the anomalous decay events presently observed within this picture.  相似文献

In the present study, the expression of first pressure derivative of bulk modulus B′?earlier derived by Goyal and Gupta EoS [7] is corrected and the validity of the EoS is then verified in extreme compression region. The expressions of second and third order pressure derivative (B,B)of bulk modulus are obtained. The values of B′, B2B? to BB″,?Grunesien parameters?λ,?γ,?q at infinite pressure (P?→?∞)?are calculated using the identities [11–13] to check the validity of the equation in extreme compression region. The Goyal and Gupta EoS is then used to study the volume compression in diatomic solids, LiH and MgO. The values of pressure, bulk modulus and its first order pressure derivative at different compressions are calculated and compared with the results obtained from Hama–Suito EoS. The results justify the validity of the present EoS in high pressure region and the results for diatomic solids are also found in good consistency with the compared results.  相似文献

We study high energy photon production from a quark-gluon plasma at finite baryon density. We find that the photon production spectrum from the quark-gluon plasma maintained at constant temperature is only mildly dependent on the quark chemical potential.  相似文献

Though the predictions of the standard model (SM) are in excellent agreement with experiments, there are still several theoretical problems associated with the Higgs sector of the SM, where it is widely believed that some new physics will take over at the TeV scale. We consider a quadratic programming (QP) problem (Π) of the form min x T C x subject to Axb, x ≥ 0 where \({C\in {\mathbb R}^{n \times n}_+, {\rm rank}(C)=1}\) and \({A\in {\mathbb R}^{m \times n}, b\in {\mathbb R}^m}\) . We present an fully polynomial time approximation scheme (FPTAS) for this problem by reformulating the QP (Π) as a parameterized LP and “rounding” the optimal solution. Furthermore, our algorithm returns an extreme point solution of the polytope. Therefore, our results apply directly to 0–1 problems for which the convex hull of feasible integer solutions is known such as spanning tree, matchings and sub-modular flows. They also apply to problems for which the convex hull of the dominant of the feasible integer solutions is known such as s, t-shortest paths and s, t-min-cuts. For the above discrete problems, the quadratic program Π models the problem of obtaining an integer solution that minimizes the product of two linear non-negative cost functions.  相似文献

In this paper, an analog microwave over fiber link for long haul distance based upon Rate Equation Laser is demonstrated. This system uses the advantage of high potential bandwidth of fiber in transmission of microwave signal. The interface of the two systems needs an up-conversion of microwave band into baseband (at which fiber operates). An Intensity Modulation Direct Detection (IMDD) technique is used to achieve this purpose. The Rate Equation laser is operated in a dynamic state, where its intensity oscillates at a microwave frequency that varies with the input signal fed by wave generator. This system can also use for two modulating tones. The frequency of the first tone is varied from 1 to 20 GHz and second is set at 5 GHz. A data signal of 10 Gbps is transmitted over long haul single mode fiber by single tone system. A very good bit error rate (BER) 10?40 performances for 100 km and 25 km fiber link is achieved for both single tone and two tones respectively in proposed microwave over fiber communication system.  相似文献

In this paper, we describe the design, construction and performance of a new high resolution neutron powder diffractometer that has been installed at the Dhruva reactor, Trombay, India. The instrument employs novel design concepts like the use of bent, perfect crystal monochromator and open beam geometry, enabling the use of smaller samples. The resolution curve of the instrument was found to have little variation over a wide angular region and a Δd/d ∼ 0.3% has been achieved. The instrument provides sample environment of very low temperatures and high magnetic fields using a 7 Tesla cryogen-free superconducting magnet with a VTI having a temperature range of 1.5–320 K. The special sample environment and high resolution make this neutron powder diffractometer a very powerful facility for studying magnetic properties of materials.   相似文献

Propagation algorithm for computer simulation of stationary paraxial self-focusing laser beam in a medium with saturating nonlinearity is given in Lie-optic form. Accordingly, a very natural piece-wise continuous Lie transformation that reduces to a restricted Lorentz group of the beam results. It gives rise to a matrix method for self-focusing beam propagation that is constructed and implemented. Although the results use plasma nonlinearities of saturable type, and a gaussian initial beam, these results are applicable for other media like linear optical fibers and to more general situations.  相似文献

The refractive index profile of buried graded-index planar optical waveguides fabricated by ion migration can be described by a buried secant hyperbolic function. Using such a profile, we have obtained the exact propagation characteristics for such buried optical waveguides. We have also shown that profiles which deviate slightly from the above profile can be treated as perturbations and a first-order perturbation correction gives very accurate results.  相似文献
