Single-stage plasma-arc synthesis of metallo-endofullerences

Single-stage plasma-arc synthesis of metallo-endofullerences of the types C₆₀Pd, C₆₀Ni, and C₆₀Cr, whose content in a mixture of extracted fullerenes was 0.05 to 0.15 wt %, was performed. The effect of introduction of these metals into the reaction plasma on the total yield of fullerenes and on the fraction composition of the fullerene mixture was studied. The fullerene mixtures were analyzed by mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography.     

Phase Equilibria in the Systems Na+, K+||Cl--H2O and Na+, K+||Cl-, H2PO- 4-H2O at Temperatures of 0-100°C

Binary and ternary parameters of the Pitzer equation and also the thermodynamic potentials of solid phases and the solubility diagrams of ternary aqueous-salt systems Na⁺, K⁺||Cl^--H₂O and Na⁺, K⁺||Cl^-, H₂PO^- ₄-H₂O in the temperature range 0-100°C, which corresponds to the technological conditions of brine formation, were calculated.     

Polythermal study of the solubility of fullerenes in pelargonic and caprylic acids

A polythermal study of the solubility of C₆₀ and a fullerene mixture (60% C₆₀ + 39% C₇₀ + 1% C₇₆–C₉₀) in pelargonic and caprylic acids was carried out at 20–80°C. The solubility polytherms are given and discussed.     

Extraction equilibria in the fullerene-containing system C60-C70-1,2,4-trichlorobenzene-ethanol-H2O

The liquid (I)-liquid (II) extraction equilibria in the five-component system fullerene C₆₀-fullerene C₇₀-1,2,4-C₆H₃Cl₃-C₂H₅OH-H₂O were studied at 25°C. Isothermal diagrams of distribution of the fullerene components among stratifying liquid phases at a constant content of H₂O were obtained.     

Bistability of quantum magnetotransport in a multilayer Ge/p-Ge1−x Six heterostructure with wide potential wells

Two metastable states of a multilayer Ge/p-Ge_1−x Si_x heterosystem with wide (∼ 35 nm) potential wells (Ge) are observed in strong magnetic fields B at low temperatures. In the first state, the Hall resistivity exhibits an inflection near the value ρ_xy=h/e ² scaled to one Ge layer. The longitudinal magnetoresistivity ρ_xx(B) possesses a minimum in the range of fields where this inflection occurs. The temperature evolution of the inflection in ρ_xy(B), the minimum of ρ _xx(B), and the value of ρ_xy at the inflection indicates a weakly expressed state of the quantum Hall effect with a uniform current distribution over the layers. In the second metastable state, an unusually wide plateau near h/2e ² with a very weak field dependence is observed in ρ_xy(B). Estimates show that in these samples the Fermi level lies below but close to the top of the inflection in the bottom of the well. For this reason, the second state can be explained by separation of a hole gas in the Ge layers into two sublayers, and the saturation of ρ_xy(B) near h/2e ² can be explained by the formation of a quantum Hall insulator state. The polythermal solubility of C₆₀ and fullerene mixture (60% C₆₀, 39% C₇₀, and 1% C_76–90) in butyric and enanthic acids was studied over the temperature range 20–80 °C. The corresponding solubility polytherms are given and characterized.     

The solubility of light fullerenes in styrene over the temperature range 20–80°C

The temperature dependence (over the range 20–80°C) of the solubility of light fullerenes (C₆₀ and C₇₀) and a mixture of fullerenes (60 wt % C₆₀, 39 wt % C₇₀, and 1 wt % C_76–90) in styrene was studied. The corresponding solubility polytherms are given and characterized.     

Polythermal solubility of light fullerenes in valeric and caproic acids in the temperature range 20–80°C

The polythermal solubility of fullerene C₆₀ and a fullerene mixture (60 wt % C₆₀ + 39 wt % C₇₀ + 1 wt % higher fullerenes C _n , n = 76, 78, 84, 90...) in valeric and caproic acids was studied in the temperature range 20–80°C. The solubility diagrams are presented and characterized.     

Sorption of Light Fullerenes (C<Subscript>60</Subscript> and C<Subscript>70</Subscript>) on Materials Prepared by Sublimation of Graphite Rods

Sorption of fullerenes C₆₀ and C₇₀ from o-xylene, toluene, and o-dichlorobenzene solutions under static conditions on a sorbent prepared by sublimation of graphite rods was studied. The solubility of individual fullerenes C₆₀ and C₇₀ and a fullerene mixture enriched in higher fullerenes (C₆₀ 38.8, C₇₀ 33.0, C_76–78 5.6, C₈₄ 8.6, C₉₀ 2.6, and C₉₆ 3.3%) in higher isomeric carboxylic acids was studied within the 20–80°C temperature range; the corresponding solubility polytherms are presented.
