Environment-friendly electric vehicles have gained popularity and increased attention in recent years. The deployment of a network of recharging stations is essential given their limited travel range. This paper considers the problem of locating electronic replenishment stations for electric vehicles on a traffic network with flow-based demand. The objective is to optimize the network performance, for example to maximize the flow covered by a prefixed number of stations or to minimize the number of stations needed to cover traffic flows. The distinguishing-transversal number \({\tau_D(H)}\) of H is the minimum size of a distinguishing-transversal in H. We show that if H is a 3-uniform identifiable hypergraph of order n and size m with maximum degree at most 3, then \({20\tau_D(H) \leq 12n + 3m}\) . Most branch-and-bound algorithms in global optimization depend on convex underestimators to calculate lower bounds of a minimization objective function. The $\alpha $ BB methodology produces such underestimators for sufficiently smooth functions by analyzing interval Hessian approximations. Several methods to rigorously determine the $\alpha $ BB parameters have been proposed, varying in tightness and computational complexity. We present new polynomial-time methods and compare their properties to existing approaches. The new methods are based on classical eigenvalue bounds from linear algebra and a more recent result on interval matrices. We show how parameters can be optimized with respect to the average underestimation error, in addition to the maximum error commonly used in $\alpha $ BB methods. Numerical comparisons are made, based on test functions and a set of randomly generated interval Hessians. The paper shows the relative strengths of the methods, and proves exact results where one method dominates another. 相似文献

Official guidelines originating from a European Union directive regulate requirements for analytical methods used to identify chemical compounds in biological matrices. This study compared different liquid chromatography/electropray ionization mass spectrometry (LC/ESI‐MS) and tandem mass spectrometry (LC/ESI‐MS/MS) procedures for accurate determination of the conjugated ethanol metabolite and alcohol biomarker ethyl glucuronide (EtG) in urine, and the value of combined EtG and ethyl sulfate (EtS) measurement. Analysis was carried out on 482 urines following solid‐phase extraction (SPE) sample cleanup or using direct injection of a diluted sample. SPE combined with LC/MS/MS was demonstrated to be the most selective and sensitive method and was chosen as reference method. The EtG results by different methods showed good correlation (r = 0.96–0.98). When comparing five reporting limits for EtG in the range 0.10–1.00 mg/L, the overall agreement with the reference method (frequency of true positives plus true negatives) was 82–97% for direct‐injection LC/MS/MS, 90–97% for SPE‐LC/MS, 86–98% for direct‐injection LC/MS, and 86–98% for direct‐injection LC/MS analysis of EtG and EtS. Most deviations were attributable to uncertainty in quantitation, when the value was close to a cutoff but the respective results were slightly above and below, or vice versa, the critical limit. However, for direct‐injection LC/MS/MS, despite earning 4 identification points, equally many negative results were due to a product ion ratio outside the ±20% deviation accepted by the guidelines. These results indicate that the likelihood of different analytical methods to provide reliable analytical results depends on the reporting limit applied. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

Alkaline detoxification strongly improves the fermentability of dilute-acid hydrolysates in the production of bioethanol from
lignocellulose with Saccharomyces cerevisiae. New experiments were performed with NH4OH and NaOH to define optimal conditions for detoxification and make a comparison with Ca(OH)2 treatment feasible. As too harsh conditions lead to sugar degradation, the detoxification treatments were evaluated through
the balanced ethanol yield, which takes both the ethanol production and the loss of fermentable sugars into account. The optimization
treatments were performed as factorial experiments with 3-h duration and varying pH and temperature. Optimal conditions were
found roughly in an area around pH 9.0/60°C for NH4OH treatment and in a narrow area stretching from pH 9.0/80°C to pH 12.0/30°C for NaOH treatment. By optimizing treatment
with NH4OH, NaOH, and Ca(OH)2, it was possible to find conditions that resulted in a fermentability that was equal or better than that of a reference fermentation
of a synthetic sugar solution without inhibitors, regardless of the type of alkali used. The considerable difference in the

Spectral analysis of vowels during connected speech can be performed using the spectral intensity distribution within critical bands corresponding to a natural scale on the basilar membrane. Normalization of the spectra provides the opportunity to make objective comparisons independent from the recording level. An increasing envelope peak between 3,150 and 3,700 Hz has been confirmed statistically for a combination of seven vowels in three groups of male speakers with hoarse, normal, and professional voices. Each vowel is also analyzed individually. The local energy maximum is called “the speaker's formant” and can be found in the region of the fourth formant. The steepness of the spectral slope (i.e. the rate of decline) becomes less pronounced when the sonority or the intensity of the voice increases. The speaker's formant is connected with the sonorous quality of the voice. It increases gradually and is approximately 10 dB higher in professional male voices than in normal male voices at neutral loudness (60 dB at 0.3 min). The peak intensity becomes stronger (30 dB above normal voices) when the overall speaking loudness is increased to 80 dB. Shouting increases the spectral energy of the adjacent critical bands but not the speaker's formant itself. 相似文献

Computer generated Fourier transform phase holograms, known as kinoforms, have been synthesized, manufactured and their performance evaluated at a wavelength of 3 mm (100 GHz). The kinoforms were synthesized to give a prescribed far-field intensity distribution and manufactured by milling the computed kinoform surface relief into a Teflon plate, using a numerically controlled milling machine. The measured diffraction efficiencies exceed 50 percent. Millimeter-wave kinoforms can be used in various quasi-optical applications,e.g. distributing a local oscillator signal to an array of detector elements in heterodyne receivers. 相似文献
