A valence‐universal multireference coupled cluster (VUMRCC) theory, realized via the eigenvalue independent partitioning (EIP) route, has been implemented with full inclusion of triples excitations for computing and analyzing the entire main and several satellite peaks in the ionization potential spectra of several molecules. The EIP‐VUMRCC method, unlike the traditional VUMRCC theory, allows divergence‐free homing‐in to satellite roots which would otherwise have been plagued by intruders, and is thus numerically more robust to obtain more efficient and dependable computational schemes allowing more extensive use of the approach. The computed ionization potentials (IPs) as a result of truncation of the (N−1) electron basis manifold involving virtual functions such as 2h‐p and 3h‐2p by different energy thresholds varying from 5 to 15 a.u. with 1 a.u. intervals as well as thresholds such as 20, 25, and 30 a.u. have been carefully looked into. Cutoff at around 25 a.u. turns out to be an optimal threshold. Molecules such as C2H4 and C2H2 (X = D,T), and N2 and CO (X = D,T,Q) with Dunning's cc‐pVXZ bases have been investigated to determine all main and 2h‐p shake‐up and 3h‐2p double shake‐up satellite IPs. We believe that the present work will pave the way to a wider application of the method by providing main and satellite IPs for some problematic N‐electron closed shell systems. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 相似文献

A planar, polycyclic and aromatic hydrocarbon ligand, namely 9,10-phenanthrenequinone semicarbazone, and its transition metal complexes have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The in vitro antiproliferative activity of these compounds against five human cancer cell lines revealed that they were effective against androgen receptor-positive/negative prostate cancer cells as well as COX-positive pancreatic BxPC-3 cancer cell line. The driving force behind such antiproliferative activity seems to be the up-regulated COX expression in these cells, which was amenable for targeting through metal complexation. These structural motifs can, therefore, serve as a starting point for developing novel cytotoxic agents against the growing number of prostate and pancreatic cancers. 相似文献

The present work describes the synthesis, characterization and application of functionalized surfactants derived through simple organic reaction steps. These surfactants have been particularly tailor made to resist hardness due to calcium ions in water. It is unique of its kind because here the surfactants have an analogous hydrophobic chain but differ structurally in the composition of the head groups in terms of the position of attachment of the chain. The effect of this small variability in the head group on the surfactant property, adsorption, self assembly and calcium tolerance behaviour has been studied in detail. This kind of phenol–keto surfactants has not been reported before. It was also found that one of the surfactants was more tolerant towards Ca2+ ion than the other. The individual packing behaviour of the surfactants at the air–water interface has been projected to cause this difference which is very interesting. 相似文献

Relaxation dynamics of plasmons in Au−SiO2 core-shell nanoparticles have been followed by femtosecond pump-probe technique. The effect of excitation pump energy and surrounding medium on the time constants associated with the hot electron relaxation has been elucidated. A gradual increase in the electron-phonon relaxation time with pump energy is observed and can be attributed to the higher perturbation of the electron distribution in AuNPs at higher pump energy. Variation in time constants for the electron-phonon relaxation in different solvents is rationalized on the basis of their thermal conductivities, which govern the rate of dissipation of heat of photoexcited electrons in the nanoparticles. On the other hand, phonon-phonon relaxation is found to be much less effective than electron-phonon relaxation for the dissipation of energy of the excited electron and the time constants associated with it remain unaffected by thermal conductivity of the solvent. 相似文献

At room temperature, 1,2‐hydrogen‐transfer reactions of N‐heterocyclic carbenes, like the imidazol‐2‐ylidene to give imidazole is shown to occurr almost entirely (>90 %) by quantum mechanical tunneling (QMT). At 60 K in an Ar matrix, for the 2, 3‐dihydrothiazol‐2‐ylidene→thiazole transformation, QMT is shown to increase the rate about 105 times. Calculations including small‐curvature tunneling show that the barrier for intermolecular 1,2‐hydrogen‐transfer reaction is small, and QMT leads to a reduced rate of the forward reaction because of nonclassical reflections even at room temperature. A small barrier also leads to smaller kinetic isotope effects because of efficient QMT by both H and D. QMT does not always lead to faster reactions or larger KIE values, particularly when the barrier is small. 相似文献

Realizing spatiotemporal patterns out of a chemical reaction diffusion system remains an experimental challenge owing to the difficulty in overcoming the stringent condition of diffusion driven instability. Herein, by considering the spatially extended Gray-Scott model system, we have investigated how the cross diffusivities of the reactants involved influence the nature and dynamics of spatiotemporal patterns. Our study unravels that in absence of diffusion driven instability, spatially inhomogeneous patterns can be obtained for the Gray-Scott model system, and unstable time dependent patterns can be stabilized just by adjusting cross diffusivities of the reactants. Interestingly, the effect of cross diffusion in presence of the diffusion driven instability can differentially alter the speed of pattern formation, and potentially modify the nature of the spatiotemporal patterns obtained under different parametric conditions. Experimental verification of our findings may allow us to observe spatiotemporal patterns beyond the regime of classical Turing instability. 相似文献

Two Ru(II) complexes, [Ru(bpy)2L](ClO4)2 (1) and [Ru(bpy)2L'](BF4)2 (2), where bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine, L is diacetyl dihydrazone, and L' 1:2 is the condensate of L and acetone, are synthesized. From X-ray crystal structures, both are found to contain distorted octahedral RuN(6)(2+) cores. NMR spectra show that the cations in 1 and 2 possess a C2 axis in solution. They display the expected metal-to-ligand charge transfer (1MLCT) band in the 400-500 nm region. Complex 1 is nonemissive at room temperature in solution as well as at 80 K. In contrast, complex 2 gives rise to an appreciable emission upon excitation at 440 nm. The room-temperature emission is centered at 730 nm (lambda(em)(max)) with a quantum yield (Phi(em)) of 0.002 and a lifetime (tau(em)) of 42 ns in an air-equilibrated methanol-ethanol solution. At 80 K, Phi(em) = 0.007 and tau(em) = 178 ns, with a lambda(em)(max) of 690 nm, which is close to the 0-0 transition, indicating an 3MLCT excited-state energy of 1.80 eV. The radiative rate constant (5 x 10(4) s(-1)) at room temperature and 80 K is almost temperature independent. From spectroelectrochemistry, it is found that bpy is easiest to reduce in 2 and that L is easiest in 1. The implications of this are that in 2 the lowest (3)MLCT state is localized on a bpy ligand and in 1 it is localized on L. Transient absorption results also support these assignments. As a consequence, even though 2 shows a fairly strong and long-lived emission from a Ru(II) --> bpy CT state, the Ru(II) --> L CT state in 1 shows no detectable emission even at 80 K. 相似文献

Optical and static dielectric studies on a terminally fluorinated liquid crystalline compound have been carried out. Measurements of temperature variation of refractive indices of the compound are done by using thin prism method. A four-parameter model is validated by fitting the experimentally measured values of refractive indices, birefringence and average refractive indices of the compound with the theoretical ones. Refractive index and density data are utilized for determination of orientational order parameter. The temperature variation of dielectric permittivities of the compound are measured by a LCR meter. 相似文献
