Recent Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) studies on alanine powders as a function of irradiation dose and temperature on the one hand and single crystal Electron Nuclear DOuble Resonance (ENDOR) studies on the other hand, showed the presence of at least three radicals contributing to the total alanine EPR spectrum. The latter spectrum obtained after irradiation at room temperature (RT), is dominated by the well-known stable-alanine-radical (SAR) CH3C*HCOO-, also denoted R1. Appropriate heating of irradiated alanine causes the relative contribution of R1 to decrease, resulting in a spectrum mainly caused by the H-abstraction radical CH3C*(NH3)COO-, denoted R2. Although the EPR spectrum of these two radicals could be satisfactorily simulated, their influence on dose reconstruction has not been reported yet. Therefore, a detailed Maximum Likelihood Common Factor Analysis (MLCFA) study has been performed on EPR spectra from polycrystalline alanine samples, after irradiation and heat treatments. Conclusions concerning the number of contributing radicals and their influence on the RT irradiated alanine EPR spectrum will be made. 相似文献

In this paper, we report the effects of the substitution of Sr by Eu on the properties of Bi-2201 ceramics. Samples with nominal compositions of Bi2Sr2?xEuxCuOy (x = 0–0.4) are elaborated in air by solid state reaction. They are characterized by means of X ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), magnetic and resistivity measurements. The undoped sample (x = 0) is monophasic and its structure belongs to phase A. No trace of superconductivity is observed down to 2 K for this sample and the variation of resistivity with temperature shows a semiconducting behaviour. As Eu is added and for x ≥ 0.2, the samples convert totally to B or Raveau phase and become superconducting. The highest Tc, obtained from both magnetic and resistivity measurements, is observed for x = 0.3. In the normal state, all the samples exhibit a semiconducting character which decreases as well as resistivity when the Eu content increases. The refinement of cell parameters is done with considering the structural modulation. The study shows that the substitution of Sr2+ by Eu3+ leads to an increase of a and b parameters, while c decreases similarly to those of the La doped phases. The a axis component of the modulation is observed to be independent of Eu content, while the c axis one increases slightly as this content increases. The XRD analysis has also revealed that the limit solubility of the used Eu2O3 oxide is situated between x = 0.3 and 0.4 of Eu content. The SEM micrographs show that the undoped sample consists of poorly connected grains with a random distribution. A quite different microstructure is obtained for the doped samples. The grains are more connected and have a flat shape which is characteristic of the Bi-based superconductors. 相似文献

Nucleic acid exposure to radiation and chemical insults leads to damage and disease. Thus, detection and understanding DNA damage is important for elucidating molecular mechanisms of disease. However, current methods of DNA damage detection are either time-consuming, destroy the sample, or are too specific to be used for generic detection of damage. In this paper, we develop a fluorescence sensor of 2-aminopurine (2AP), a fluorescent analogue of adenine, incorporated in the loop of a hairpin probe for the quantification of ultraviolet (UV) C-induced nucleic acid damage. Our results show that the selectivity of the 2AP hairpin probe to UV-induced nucleic acid damage is comparable to molecular beacon (MB) probes of DNA damage. The calibration curve for the 2AP hairpin probe shows good linearity (R2 = 0.98) with a limit of detection of 17.2 nM. This probe is a simple, fast and economic fluorescence sensor for the quantification of UV-induced damage in DNA. 相似文献

AbstractAn aliphatic ester of hydroxysalicylic acid (6), reported for the first time from a natural source in addition to five known compounds were isolated from the fermented Carica papaya L. preparation, a commercialized functional food. The known compounds were identified as 5-hydroxymethylfurfuraldehyde (1), trans-caffeic acid (2), butyl 4-hydroxybenzoate (butylparaben) (3), lycopene (4), benzyl isothiocyanate (5). Compounds 1 and 3 were reported for the first time from Papaya fruits through this study. The new compound showed a moderate antioxidant activity and a potent hair growth stimulating activity in vitro. 相似文献

AbstractThe present study evaluates the chemical composition of Zinnia elegans and Gazania rigens based on their metabolomic profiles using liquid chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC‐HR-MS), alongside with the anti-infective activities of their ethanol extracts, as well as, different fractions. A significant difference was observed between the LC-MS profiles of the two plants such as, coumarins, sesquiterpene lactones and phenylethanoids which were characteristic for Z. elegans, while amides and phenolic acid derivatives were characteristic for G. rigens. These results highlight the chemical potential of Z. elegans and G. rigens. Furthermore, the ethyl acetate fraction of Z. elegans showed a significant antimalarial activity with IC50 values of 21.03 and 13.72?µg/mL against Plasmodium falciparum D6 and P. falciparum W2, respectively. 相似文献

The chalcone as (E)-1-([1,1′-biphenyl]-4-yl)-3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)prop-2-en-1-one ( 3 ) was reacted with various active methylene compounds via Michael addition reaction under different conditions. In one hand, chalcone 3 reacted with isatin and glycine in one pot reaction via 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction. On the other hand, chalcone 3 was also reacted with different N-nucleophiles via direct addition on the carbonyl group to award cyclic and/or acyclic products. Meanwhile, the reaction of chalcone 3 with S-benzylthiuronium chloride afforded the thio-Michael addition product. Chalcone 3 and 10 novel synthesized compounds were screened against two cell lines (HepG2 and MCF-7). Among of them, thiosemicarbazone 16 , oxime 14 and pyrimidine-2(1H)-thione 19 derivatives revealed an excellent activity against both cell lines (IC50 values = 6.79-12.91 μM), whereas thiosemicarbazone 16 (6.79 ± 0.5 and 7.58 ± 0.6 μM) showed the highest activity. 相似文献

To study cell attachment to biomaterials, several proteins such as fibronectin, collagen IV, heparin, immunoglobulin G, and albumin have been deposited onto polystyrene adsorbed on a self-assembled monolayer (silane or thiol) on glass or gold, respectively. The different steps of this multilayer assembly have been characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). These data are compared to those of adhesion rate, viability percentage, and cytoskeleton labeling for a better understanding of the cell adhesion process to each protein. All the proteins are endothelial cell adhering biomolecules but not with the same features. A linear relationship has been established between adhesion rate and resistance of the endothelial cell/protein interface for all negatively charged proteins. 相似文献

Novel trisubstituted ethylenes, alkyl and alkoxy ring-disubstituted propyl 2-cyano-3-phenyl-2-propenoates, RPhCH?C(CN)CO2C3H7 (where R is 2,3-dimethyl, 2,5-dimethyl, 2,6-dimethyl, 3,4-dimethyl, 2,3-dimethoxy, 2,4-dimethoxy, 2,5-dimethoxy, 2,6-dimethoxy 3,4-dimethoxy, 3,5-dimethoxy) were prepared and copolymerized with styrene. The monomers were synthesized by the piperidine catalyzed Knoevenagel condensation of ring-substituted benzaldehydes and propyl cyanoacetate and characterized by CHN elemental analysis, IR, 1H- and 13C-NMR. All the ethylenes were copolymerized with styrene (M1) in solution with radical initiation (ABCN) at 70°C. The composition of the copolymers was calculated from nitrogen analysis, and the structures were analyzed by IR, 1H and 13C-NMR, GPC, DSC, and TGA. Decomposition of the copolymers in nitrogen occurred in two steps, first in the 200–500°C range with residue (0.6–5.0% wt.), which then decomposed in the 500–800°C range. 相似文献
