This Letter looks at the rotating flow of a second grade fluid past a porous shrinking surface. The fluid is electrically conducting in the presence of a constant applied magnetic field. The governing partial differential equations are first reduced into ordinary differential equations and then solved by homotopy analysis method (HAM). Convergence of the series solution is shown explicitly. In addition, the obtained results are illustrated graphically to indicate the effects of the pertinent physical parameters.  相似文献

The effect of variable viscosity on the peristaltic flow of a Newtonian fluid in an asymmetric channel has been discussed. Asymmetry in the flow is induced due to travelling waves of different phase and amplitude which propagate along the channel walls. A long wavelength approximation is used in the flow analysis. Closed form analytic solutions for velocity components and longitudinal pressure gradient are obtained. The study also shows that, in addition to the effect of mean flow parameter, the wave amplitude also effect the peristaltic flow. This effect is noticeable in the pressure rise and frictional forces per wavelength through numerical integration.  相似文献

A series of structurally intriguing novel pyrrolo[3,2-c]quinolinone heterocyclic hybrids have been synthesized for the first time via a one-pot multicomponent domino reaction sequence that involves a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition and two subsequent annulation steps. Baylis-Hillman adducts derived from various substituted benzaldehyde and methyl acrylate in presence of DABCO were used as a dipolarophiles, while the 1,3-dipole components were azomethine ylides, formed in situ from isatin derivatives and l-phenylalanine. The reaction generated five new bonds, three new rings and four contiguous stereocenters, which were created with full diastereomeric control.  相似文献

One-pot synthesis of pyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole derivatives via two or multicomponent condensation of β-ketoesters, hydrazine monohydrate/phenyl hydrazine, malononitrile, and substituted benzaldehydes is of great interest not only in synthetic chemistry but also in medicinal chemistry because of the tremendous biological activities, such as anticancer, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antimicrobial, and enzyme inhibitory activities exhibited by pyranopyrazoles. The steady flow and heat transfer of a couple stress fluid due to an inclined stretching cylinder are analyzed. The thermal conductivity is assumed to be temperature dependent. The governing equations for the flow and heat transfer are transformed into ordinary differential equations. Series solutions of the resulting problem are computed. The effects of various interested parameters, e.g., the couple stress parameter, the angle of inclination, the mixed convection parameter, the Prandtl number, the Reynolds number, the radiation parameter, and the variable thermal conductivity parameter, are illustrated. The skin friction coefficient and the local Nusselt number are computed and analyzed. It is observed that the heat transfer rate at the surface increases while the velocity and the shear stress decrease when the couple stress parameter and the Reynolds number increase. The temperature increases when the Reynolds number increases.  相似文献

The flow of a second-grade fluid past a porous plate subject to either suction or blowing at the plate has been studied. A modified model of second-grade fluid that has shear-dependent viscosity and can predict the normal stress difference is used. The differential equations governing the flow are solved using homotopy analysis method (HAM). Expressions for the velocity have been constructed and discussed with the help of graphs. Analysis of the obtained results showed that the flow is appreciably influenced by the material and normal stress coefficient. Several results of interest are deduced as the particular cases of the presented analysis.  相似文献

This paper generalizes the analysis of four magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow problems of an Oldroyd-B fluid discussed by Asghar et al. [Int. J. Non-linear Mech. 40, 589–601 (2005)] into three directions: (i) to discuss the problems in a porous medium using modified Darcy’s law (ii) to see the influence of Hall current (iii) to determine the effect of rheological parameter of Burgers’ fluid. Analytical solutions of velocity distribution valid at large and small times are given in each problem. Comparison has been provided for Oldroyd-B and Burgers’ fluids through graphs. In this article, analysis is presented to study the effect of Hall current on the rotating flow of a non-Newtonian fluid in a porous medium taking into consideration the modified Darcy's law. The Oldroyd-B fluid model is used to characterize the non-Newtonian fluid behavior. The governing equations for unsteady rotating flow have been modeled in a porous medium. The analysis includes the flows induced by general periodic oscillations and elliptic harmonic oscillations of a plate. The effect of the various emerging parameters is discussed on the velocity distribution. The analytical results are confirmed mathematically by giving comparison with previous studies in the literature. It is observed that the velocity distribution increases with an increase of Hall parameter. The behavior of permeability is similar to that of the Hall parameter.  相似文献

The solution for the flow of a third grade fluid bounded by two parallel porous plates is given using homotopy analysis method (HAM). A comparison is made with the exact numerical solution for the various values of the physical parameters. It is found that a proper choice of the auxiliary parameter occurring in HAM solution gives very close results.  相似文献
