AbstractThe subject of this present work is a group of nine historical pictures shot in Palermo by the Sicilian photographer E. Interguglielmi in 1912. They are nine matte-collodion prints mounted on the original cardboard supports and all of them show foxing stains affecting the paper surface. In order to characterise the chemical composition of the supports and investigate foxing spots, non-destructive and micro-destructive analysis were carried out. X-rays fluorescence (XRF) analysis was used to characterise the elemental composition of all the mounting boards, allowing a comparison between the foxing spots and non-affected areas. Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy was used to investigate the presence of lower atomic number elements, not detectable by XRF, while SEM imaging allowed the investigation of surface appearance and nature of original paper samples from the cardboards. 相似文献

AbstractTraditional cleaning methods with organic solvents often are not suitable for removal of aged resin so researchers have to find new formulations. In this work, a case study is reported in which new microemulsions were applied on the surface of a painting covered by some aged resin layers used during a previous restoration. Based on the quality of the intervention and the analysis of a sample of the varnish carried out with both MALDI-TOF and ATR-IR spectrometers, it was conjectured that this undesired material could be an acrylic polymer. So it was chosen to use xylene, ethyl acetate and propylene carbonate (XYL and EAPC) microemulsions (O/W oil in water). The first is able to solubilise only acrylic polymers, the second may solve both acrylic and vinyl resins. The first has had the greatest effect allowing complete varnish removal and original artwork restoration. 相似文献

This study presents a simple and green dispersive micro‐solid phase extraction method for preconcentration of acidic quinolones from honey prior to high performance liquid chromatography determination. A two‐dimensional nanostructured zinc‐aluminum layered double hydroxide was synthesized and used as the sorbent for dispersive micro‐solid phase extraction. Its different characteristics from conventional sorbents is that it is dissolvable in acidic solution (pH < 4). After the extraction, the analyte elution step was omitted and thus the use of organic solvents was avoided. The key parameters influencing the extraction efficiency such as the amount of sorbent, pH of sample solution, vortex time, type and volume of acidic solution were investigated and optimized. The method exhibited low limits of detection (3.0?5.0 ng/g), good linearity (10?2000 ng/g) with coefficients of determinations higher than 0.9991, acceptable precision (RSD<9.1%) and accuracy (RE<5.8%). The proposed method is fast, efficient, eco‐friendly, and suitable for the determination of acidic quinolones in honey samples. 相似文献

In this work, a continuous high‐speed countercurrent chromatography method has been developed on the basis of elution‐extrusion mode and this method was successfully applied to the separation of maslinic and oleanolic acid from the extract of olive pulp. In the process of ‘elution’, the sample solution was continuously loaded into the column and the maslinic acid was steadily eluted out in this step while highly retained oleanlic acid always stayed in the column. In the process of ‘extrusion’, the oleanlic acid was pushed out of the column with the stationary phase. In this way, we achieved a large sample loading. A total of 120 mL sample solution (about 89.55% of the column volume) which contains 600 mg olive pulp extract was pumped in the apparatus by a constant‐flow pump and the maslinic and oleanolic acids were largely separated within 120 min. Both of these two compounds presented high yields and high purities (271.6 mg for maslinic acid with 86.7% and 83.9 mg oleanolic acids with 83.4%). 相似文献

The present paper deals with the multivariate optimization of an extraction‐purification strategy for the determination of phytoestrogens (daidzein, genistein, coumestrol, formononetin, and biochanin A) in soy‐based meat substitutes by high performance liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry. For a reliable quantitation of these new concerning compounds in such a complex matrix, recovery and matrix effect must be carefully evaluated. Therefore, two sequential experimental designs were used to optimize the sample‐pretreatment of soy‐based burgers: the chosen technique was the quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged and safe methodology, which does not require any particular facility or instrumentation. Thanks to the first screening design (Plackett‐Burman), the significant factors influencing the studied responses were identified and further investigated through a response surface design (Box‐Behnken). The optimal values of the variables (volume of extraction solvent mix/sample mass ratio and two clean‐up sorbents) led to quantitative recoveries (97–104%) and low ion suppression (matrix effect 60–93%) for all analytes. This optimized method was characterized by low detection limits (0.2–1.5 ng/g) and excellent intraday precision (RSD 2–4%). It was applied to the determination of the considered compounds in several soy‐burgers from the Italian market, detecting low ng/g levels (up to 40 ng/g) of coumestrol, formononetin, and biochanin A, and high concentrations (7.9–78 µg/g) of genistein and daidzein. 相似文献

The development of Gestion et Etude des Informations Spectroscopiques Atmosphériques (GEISA: Management and Study of Spectroscopic Information) was started over three decades at Laboratoire de Météorologie Dynamique (LMD) in France. GEISA is a computer accessible spectroscopic database, designed to facilitate accurate forward radiative transfer calculations using a line-by-line and layer-by-layer approach. More than 350 users have been registered for on-line use of the GEISA facilities. The current 2003 edition of GEISA (GEISA-03) is a system comprising three independent sub-databases devoted respectively to: line transition parameters, infrared and ultraviolet/visible absorption cross-sections, microphysical and optical properties of atmospheric aerosols.Currently, GEISA is involved in activities related to the assessment of the capabilities of IASI (Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer on board of the METOP European satellite) through the GEISA/IASI database derived from GEISA.The GEISA-03 content is presented, placing emphasis on molecular species of interest for Earth and planetary atmosphere studies, with details on the updated 2008 archive underway. A critical assessment on the needs, in terms of molecular parameters archive, related with recent satellite astrophysical missions is made. Scale effects in dry friction at microscale and the coefficients of friction due to adhesion force and two- and three-body deformations are considered. A rub-impact micro-rotor model with scaling nonlinear rub-impact force is presented and the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of the system in micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) are investigated when the rotating speed, imbalance, damping coefficient, scale length and fractal dimension are regarded as the control parameters. Effects of scale length, fractal dimension, velocity-dependent impact factor and contact form on the coefficients of dry friction are investigated and discussed, and used to study the nonlinear behavior of rub-related vibrations with a large number of numerical simulations. The effects of rotating speed, imbalance, damping coefficient, and friction coefficient on the micro-rotor system responses are studied. It is indicated that the rub-impact micro-rotor system with the scale effects in friction alternates among the periodic, quasi-periodic and chaotic motions as the system parameters change. The results can be effectively used to diagnose the rub-impact fault, reduce the failure and improve the characteristics of a micro-rotor system, and optimize the design of micro-rotating machinery in MEMS. 相似文献

We calculate the optical and Raman response within a phenomenological model of fermion quasiparticles coupled to nearly critical collective modes. We find that, whereas critical scaling properties might be masked in optical spectra due to charge conservation, distinct critical signatures of charge and spin fluctuations can be detected in Raman spectra exploiting specific symmetry properties.
