As ab initio electronic structure calculations become more accurate, inherent sources of error in classical transition state theory such as barrier recrossing and tunneling may become major sources of error in calculating rate constants. This paper introduces a general method for diabatically constructing the transverse eigensystem of a reaction path Hamiltonian in systems with many degenerate transverse frequencies. The diabatically constructed reaction path Hamiltonian yields smoothly varying coupling constants that, in turn, facilitate reactive flux calculations. As an example we compute the dynamically corrected rate constant for the chair to boat interconversion of cyclohexane, a system with 48 degrees of freedom and a number of degenerate frequencies. The transmission coefficients obtained from the reactive flux simulations agree with previous results that have been calculated using an empirical potential. Furthermore, the calculated rate constants agree with experimental values. Comparison to variational transition state theory shows that, despite finding the true bottleneck along the reaction pathway, variational transition state theory only accounts for half of the rate constant reduction due to recrossing trajectories. 相似文献

Single crystals of dark-red MgB(7) were grown from the elements in a Cu-melt. The crystal structure (Pearson symbol oI64; space group Imma; a = 10.478(2) ?, b = 5.977(1) ?, c = 8.125(2) ?, 2842 reflns, 48 params, R(1)(F) = 0.018, R(2)(I) = 0.034) consists of a hexagonal-primitive packing of B(12)-icosahedra and B(2)-units in trigonal-prismatic voids. According to the UV-vis spectra and band structure calculations MgB(7) is semiconducting with an optical gap of 1.9 eV. The long B-B distance of 2.278 ? within the B(2)-unit can be seen as a weak bonding interaction. The new Mg(~5)B(44) occurs beside the well-known MgB(12) as a byproduct. Small fragments of the black crystals are dark-yellow and transparent. The crystal structure (Pearson symbol tP196, space group P4(1)2(1)2, a = 10.380(2) ?, c = 14.391(3) ?, 4080 reflns, 251 params, R(1)(F) = 0.025, R(2)(I) = 0.037) is closely related to tetragonal boron-II (t-B(192)). It consists of B(12)-icosahedra and B(19+1)-units. With a charge of -6 for the B(19+1)-units and a Mg-content of ~20 Mg-atoms per unit cell the observed Mg content in Mg(~5)B(44) is quite close to the expected value derived from simple electron counting rules. All compositions were confirmed by EDXS. The microhardness was measured on single crystals for MgB(7) (H(V) = 2125, H(K) = 2004) and MgB(12) (H(V) = 2360, H(K) = 2459). 相似文献

The interaction in aqueous media of 4,6-dimethyl-1,2,3-triazolo[4,5-d]pyrimidin-5,7-dione (1,3-dimethyl-8-azaxanthine, Hdmax) with salts of divalent Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn and Cd in the presence of an excess of pyridine (py) leads to the formation of crystalline solids, the structures of which have been solved by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The solids containing Mn, Co, Zn and Cd are isostructural, presenting a formulation trans-[M(H2O)4(py)2](dmax)2, with the heterocycle in the anionic form and not directly linked to the metal atom. The H-bond network of these complexes include a tape superstructure topologically identical to that present in the previously reported hexa-aqua salts of the dmax− anion, which may be regarded as a case of molecular recognition between dmax− and the square planar [M(H2O)4] subunit. On the other hand, for Ni and Cu the triazolopyrimidine ligand is directly coordinated to the metal through the external imidazole nitrogen atom (N2) generating the compounds [M(dmax)2(H2O)2(py)2] · 2H2O, which display a less tight H-bonding network. 相似文献

Hexagonal molybdenum trioxide thin films with good crystallinity and high purity have been fabricated by the liquid phase deposition (LPD) technique using molybdic acid (H2MoO4) dissolved in 2.82% hydrofluoric acid (HF) and H3BO3 as precursors. The crystal was found to belong to a hexagonal hydrate system MoO3.nH2O (n~0.56). The unit cell lattice parameters are a=10.651 Å, c=3.725 Å and V=365.997 Å3. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images of the as-deposited samples showed well-shaped hexagonal rods nuclei that grew and where the amount increased with increase in reaction time. X-ray photon electron spectroscopy (XPS) spectra showed a Gaussian shape of the doublet of Mo 3d core level, indicating the presence of Mo6+ oxidation state in the deposited films. The deposited films exhibited an electrochromic behavior by lithium intercalation and deintercalation, which resulted in coloration and bleaching of the film. Upon dehydration at about 450 °C, the hexagonal MoO3.nH2O was transformed into the thermodynamically stable orthorhombic phase. 相似文献

The enantiomers of 34 pharmaceutical weak-base analytes were separated by nonaqueous capillary electrophoresis in acidic methanol background electrolytes using the sodium salt of the new, single-isomer chiral resolving agent, octakis(2,3-O-dimethyl-6-O-sulfo)-gamma-cyclodextrin (ODMS). The effective mobilities, separation selectivities and peak resolution values of the weak-base analytes were determined as a function of the ODMS concentration in the 0-40 mM range and were found to follow the theoretical predictions of the charged resolving agent migration model (CHARM model) modified for ionic strength effects. A new class of phenanthridinium derivative has been isolated from the reaction of 2-bromoethyl-phenanthridinium bromide with a range of primary amines in excellent yields. The reaction pathway is unprecedented and proceeds via three cascade steps: nucleophilic attack of a primary amine on the iminium moiety of a heteroaromatic ring system and cyclization to form a five-membered ring, followed by hydride loss to yield a rearomatized dihydro-1H-imidazo[1,2-f]phenanthridinium derivative. A range of NMR phase transfer experiments were carried out to elucidate the mechanistic pathway, and the methodology has been further developed by means of a biphasic system using N-bromosuccinimide as a co-oxidizing agent. Diffuse reflectance spectroscopy was used for the first time to investigate the adsorption of the [Co(H2O)6]2+ ions on the interface developed between the surface of the gamma-alumina particles and the electrolytic aqueous solutions used for the preparation of cobalt-supported gamma-alumina catalysts by equilibrium deposition filtration. The formation of inner-sphere Co(II) surface complexes in which Co(II) is in octahedral symmetry was confirmed. A deconvolution peak centered at approximately 585 nm was attributed to the exchange of one aqua ligand with one AlxOHy (x = 1, 2, or 3; y = 0 or 1) negatively charged surface group resulting in the formation of mononuclear monosubstituted inner-sphere Co(II) complexes at a Co(II) surface concentration equal to 0.02 micromol of Co(II)/m2. It was inferred that as the surface Co(II) concentration increases the formation of disubstituted and/or trisubstituted surface complexes is favored with respect to the formation of monosubstituted Co(II) surface complexes. A deconvolution peak centered at approximately 640 nm was attributed to the exchange of one or more aqua ligands with bridging hydroxo ligands (Co-O-H). The relative magnitude of this peak increases with the Co(II) surface concentration, reflecting the increasing formation of binuclear, oligonuclear, and multinuclear Co(II) surface complexes and then the formation of the Co(II) surface precipitate. 相似文献
