Die geruchsintensivsten Inhaltsstoffe des ostindischen Sandelholzöles

The most odour intensive constituents of east indian sandal wood oil are -santalol, -santalal and -santalene. This has been proved by a thorough GLC-investigation in combination with the sniffing technique of seven fractions of this highly priced essential oil, which have been obtained by TLC on silica-cellulose plates with simultaneous organoleptic evaluation. Using the headspace analysis these results could be confirmed and further the distribution of the main odour components was obtained in headspace at 37° and 80°.

Terahertz and infrared photodetectors based on multiple graphene layer and nanoribbon structures

We consider new concepts of terahertz and infrared photodetectors based on multiple graphene layer and multiple graphene nanoribbon structures and we evaluate their responsivity and detectivity. The performance of the detectors under consideration is compared with that of photodetectors made of the traditional structures. We show that due to high values of the quantum efficiency and relatively low rates of thermogeneration, the graphene-based detectors can exhibit high responsivity and detectivity at elevated temperatures in a wide radiation spectrum and can substantially surpass other detectors. The detector being discussed can be used in different wide-band and multi-colour terahertz and infrared systems.     

Reaction of ω‐carbonyl substituted 1,3,3‐trimethyl‐2‐methyleneindolines with phosphorus(III) halides

The phosphorylation of N‐benzoyl‐2‐(1,3,3‐trimethyl‐2‐methyleneindoline)acetamide ( 2 ) and ω‐(3‐dimethylamino)benzoyl‐1,3,3‐trimethyl‐2‐methyleneindoline ( 6 ) with phosphorus(III) halides resulted in the formation of 2,3‐dihydro‐4H‐1,5,2‐oxazaphosphinin‐4‐one and 1,2‐dihydro‐3H‐phosphindol‐3‐one systems, respectively. The properties of the obtained compounds were studied. Further cyclization of 1,2‐dihydro‐3H‐phosphindol‐3‐one into dihydrophosphindolo[3,2‐c]pyrazole was carried out. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Effect of heat transfer mode on the temperature and thermal stress fields in single crystals

Different modes of conjugate heat transfer in a crystal environment–growth chamber walls system with geometry similar to the upper part of a Czochralski thermal unit are investigated numerically. Calculations are performed for an argon Prandtl number of 0.68 and a Grashof number of 16000. The thermal stress fields in the crystal are calculated using the resulting temperature fields.
