Directed flow measurements for Lambda hyperons are presented and compared to those for protons produced in the same Au+Au collisions (2A, 4A, and 6A GeV; b<5-6 fm). The measurements indicate that Lambda hyperons flow consistently in the same direction but with smaller magnitudes. A strong positive flow [for Lambdas] has been predicted in calculations which include the influence of the Lambda-nucleon potential. The experimental flow ratio Lambda/p is in qualitative agreement with expectations (approximately 2/3) from the quark counting rule at 2A GeV but is found to decrease with increasing beam energy.  相似文献

We consider a mathematical formulation of the problem of protein production during segment determination in the Drosophila blastoderm, together with some preliminary results of its analytical study. We reformulate the spatial difference equations as a set of nonlinear partial differential equations and obtain their dimensionless form in the continuum limit. Using previous results obtained by the gene circuit method, we find an asymptotic statement of the problem with a small parameter. Some results of the comparison method applied to the model are obtained, and exact stationary upper solutions are derived. They exhibit distinctive features of localized bell-shaped structures. In this paper a noniterative algorithm to be used for the analytical determination of the sorted eigenvalues and corresponding orthonormalized eigenvectors obtained by diffusion tensor magnetic resonance imaging (DT-MRI) is described. The algorithm uses the three invariants of the raw water spin self-diffusion tensor represented by a 3 x 3 positive definite matrix and certain math functions that do not require iteration. The implementation requires a positive definite mask to preserve the physical meaning of the eigenvalues. This algorithm can increase the speed of eigenvalue/eigenvector calculations by a factor of 5-40 over standard iterative Jacobi or singular-value decomposition techniques. This approach may accelerate the computation of eigenvalues, eigenvalue-dependent metrics, and eigenvectors especially when having high-resolution measurements with large numbers of slices and large fields of view.  相似文献

The human milk secretory immune system is known to be the first line of protection for the newborn infant against various pathogens. Secretory IgA (sIgA), the typical immunoglobulin found in secretions, can fight infections through many mechanisms. Using different methods, we have shown that sIgA from the milk of healthy women possesses DNAse and RNAse activities. The catalytic center is localized in the light chain of catalytic sIgA, while the DNA-binding center is predominantly formed by its heavy chain. The enzymic properties and substrate specificity of catalytic sIgA distinguish it from other known DNases and RNases. It is reasonable to assume, that the milk DNA- and RNA-hydrolyzing antibodies are capable not only of neutralizing viral and bacterial nucleic acids by binding these antigens as well as by hydrolyzing them. The DNA-hydrolyzing activity of Abs raises the possibility that these catalytic Abs may provide protective functions for the newborn through the hydrolysis of viral and bacterial nucleic acids.  相似文献

An equivalence relation on a standard Borel space is Borel if its graph is a Borel subset of . It is countable if each of its equivalence classes is countable. We investigate the complexity of Borel reducibility of countable Borel equivalence relations on standard Borel spaces. We show that it is at least as complex as the relation of inclusion on the collection of Borel subsets of the real line. We also show that Borel reducibility is -complete. The proofs make use of the ergodic theory of linear algebraic groups, and more particularly the superrigidity theory of R. Zimmer.

Inhomogeneous multidimensional cosmological models with a higher-dimensional space-time manifold 0 i=1 n Mi (n 1) are in stigated under dimensional reduction to a D 0-dimensional effective non-minimally coupled -model which generalizes the familiar Brans–Dicke model. The general form of the Einstein frame representation of multidimensional solutions known in the Brans–Dicke frame is given with respect to cosmic synchronous time. As an example, the transformation is demonstrated explicitly for the generalized Kasner solutions where it is shown that solutions in the Einstein frame show no inflation of the external space although they can undergo deflation after the cosmic synchronous time inversion.  相似文献

For central collisions of (17-115)A MeV 40Ar+Cu, Ag, Au, an overall balance is determined for the average mass, energy, and longitudinal momentum. Light charged particles and fragments are separated into forward-focused and isotropic components in the frame of the heaviest fragment. Energy removal by the isotropic component reaches 1-2 GeV. For such high deposition energies, statistical multifragmentation models predict much more extensive nuclear disassembly than is observed.  相似文献

We show that the structure of the fluctuations close to spinodals and mean-field critical points is qualitatively different from the structure close to non-mean-field critical points. This difference has important implications for many areas including the formation of glasses in supercooled liquids. In particular, the divergence of the measured static structure function in near-mean-field systems close to the glass transition is suppressed relative to the mean-field prediction in systems for which a spatial symmetry is broken.  相似文献

We study global bifurcations of the chaotic attractor in a modified Hodgkin-Huxley model of thermally sensitive neurons. The control parameter for this model is the temperature. The chaotic behavior is realized over a wide range of temperatures and is visualized using interspike intervals. We observe an abrupt increase of the interspike intervals in a certain temperature region. We identify this as a homoclinic bifurcation of a saddle-focus fixed point which is embedded in the chaotic attractors. The transition is accompanied by intermittency, which obeys a universal scaling law for the average length of trajectory segments exhibiting only short interspike intervals with the distance from the onset of intermittency. We also present experimental results of interspike interval measurements taken from the crayfish caudal photoreceptor, which qualitatively demonstrate the same bifurcation structure.
