Since cancer is a multifactorial disease with a high mortality rate, the study of new therapeutic strategies is one of the main objectives in modern research. Numerous chemotherapeutic agents, although widely used, have the disadvantage of being not very soluble in water or selective towards cancerous cells, with consequent side effects. Therefore, in recent years, a greater interest has emerged in innovative drug delivery systems (DDSs) such as calixarene, a third-generation supramolecular compound. Calixarene and its water-soluble derivatives show good biocompatibility and have low cytotoxicity. Thanks to their chemical–physical characteristics, calixarenes can be easily functionalized, and by itself can encapsulate host molecules forming nanostructures capable of releasing drugs in a controlled way. The encapsulation of anticancer drugs in a calixarene derivate improves their bioavailability and efficacy. Thus, the use of calixarenes as carriers of anticancer drugs could reduce their side effects and increase their affinity towards the target. This review summarizes the numerous research advances regarding the development of calixarene nanoparticles capable of encapsulating various anticancer drugs.  相似文献

A simple phase-field model for first-order phase transitions with hysteresis is proposed. It describes both temperature- and stress-induced transitions between austenitic and (oriented) martensitic regimes in a shape memory alloy (SMA). Finally, numerical simulations of local paths of the system are performed in the (ε,σ) and (ε,θ) planes, respectively, when either stress or temperature cyclic processes are considered and phase diffusion is neglected.  相似文献

Despite promising results obtained in the early diagnosis of several pathologies, breath analysis still remains an unused technique in clinical practice due to the lack of breath sampling standardized procedures able to guarantee a good repeatability and comparability of results. The most diffuse on an international scale breath sampling method uses polymeric bags, but, recently, devices named Mistral and ReCIVA, able to directly concentrate volatile organic compounds (VOCs) onto sorbent tubes, have been developed and launched on the market. In order to explore performances of these new automatic devices with respect to sampling in the polymeric bag and to study the differences in VOCs profile when whole or alveolar breath is collected and when pulmonary wash out with clean air is done, a tailored experimental design was developed. Three different breath sampling approaches were compared: (a) whole breath sampling by means of Tedlar bags, (b) the end-tidal breath collection using the Mistral sampler, and (c) the simultaneous collection of the whole and alveolar breath by using the ReCIVA. The obtained results showed that alveolar fraction of breath was relatively less affected by ambient air (AA) contaminants (p-values equal to 0.04 for Mistral and 0.002 for ReCIVA Low) with respect to whole breath (p-values equal to 0.97 for ReCIVA Whole). Compared to Tedlar bags, coherent results were obtained by using Mistral while lower VOCs levels were detected for samples (both breath and AA) collected by ReCIVA, likely due to uncorrected and fluctuating flow rates applied by this device. Finally, the analysis of all data also including data obtained by explorative analysis of the unique lung cancer (LC) breath sample showed that a clean air supply might determine a further confounding factor in breath analysis considering that lung wash-out is species-dependent.  相似文献

Methacrylate polymers containing different molar contents of nonlinear optical (NLO) active molecular segments based on 2‐[4‐(N‐methyl,N‐hydroxyethylamino)phenylazo]‐phenyl‐6‐nitrobenzoxazole chromophores were synthesized, and their phase behavior and second‐order NLO properties were investigated. Polymers containing 6–17 mol % chromophore segments allowed the preparation of amorphous and optically clear thin films. Some mesomorphic structuration was exhibited by a polymer with 33 mol % chromophoric units. However, this feature did not prevent the possibility of investigating the NLO properties. Nonlinear resonance‐enhanced d33 coefficients were determined by second harmonic generation experiments on spin‐coated, corona‐poled thin films at λ = 1064 nm. An alternative method for the synthesis of pseudopeptides containing a ψ[CH2NH] amide bond surrogate is reported. The synthetic approach is based on a nucleophilic displacement of the chiral N-protected β-iodoamines with conveniently protected amino acid esters. The compatibility of this method with both conventional and microwave-assisted peptide synthesis should increase the potentiality of the ψ[CH2NH] peptide bond isostere in peptide chemistry.  相似文献
