A laboratory‐scale continuous reaction system using a stirred tank reactor was assembled in our laboratory to study the dispersion polymerization of vinyl monomers in supercritical carbon dioxide (scCO2). The apparatus was equipped with a suitable downstream separation section to collect solid particles entrained in the effluent stream from the reactor, whose monomer concentration could be measured online with a gas chromatograph. The dispersion polymerization of methyl methacrylate in scCO2 was selected as a model process to be investigated in the apparatus. The experiments were performed at 65 °C and 25 MPa with 2,2′‐azobisisobutyronitrile as the initiator and a reactive polysiloxane macromonomer as a surfactant to investigate the effect of the mean residence time of the reaction mixture on the monomer conversion, polymerization rate, polymer molecular weight, and particle size distribution. The results were compared with those obtained in batch polymerizations carried out under similar operative conditions. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Summary Measurements on sea surface films were conducted during five separate experimental periods in the following marine areas: the Sicilian Channel, the Gulf of Maine (spring and fall periods), Bermuda, and the Pacific Ocean West of Southern California. The measurements consisted in surface elevation sampling using an interferential microwave probe with frequency spectra evaluation. Wave spectra were performed for both clean and film-covered sea surface conditions to determine the wave attenuation ratio within the 2–20 Hz spectral range. The method is able to detect, chart and characterize sea surface films. Theoretical analyses of the results yield several viscoelastic film parameters: the modulus of elasticity, the relaxation frequency and the maximum of the damping ratio as a function of wave frequency. The analysed data are interpreted to infer film weathering effects, surface concentration of film-forming constituents, and compactness of the organic sea surface film.  相似文献

Low viscosity, high density trihalide-based 1-n-butyl-3-methylimidazolium ionic liquids have been prepared and characterised. Key physical properties (density, conductivity, melting point, refractive index, surface tension and diffusion coefficient) of the ionic liquids have been determined and are compared with those of other 1,3-dialkylimidazolium molten salts. The relationship between anion identity and the physical properties of the ionic liquids under investigation is discussed.  相似文献

Conductance measurements are reported for LiPi, NaPi, KPi, RbPi, CsPi, Bu4NPi, Bu4NBr, Bu4NClO4, Bu4NNO3, and Bu4NBBu4 at 25°C in -butyrolactone-sulfolane mixtures. In these mixtures of solvents that are practically homomorphous, isodielectic and with comparable dipole moments, the ion pair association and ionic mobilities of large ions conform to the expectations of the primitive model. Electrolytes containing lithium or sodium ions show anomalies indicating that other factors besides shape, dipole moment, and polarizability of the solvent molecules are involved in the association and transport processes of these ions.  相似文献

Following a previous experiment, an original heteropolycyclic structure 4 was obtained by a reaction of chloroacetyl chloride with compound 3 bearing a conjugated double bond system. The condensation develops with an initial NH-chloroacetylation and ring closure by quaternarization of the pyridine nitrogen. Summary In this paper we employ equivariant singularity theory to study the postbuckling behavior of a cylindrical shell under axial compression, obtaining some results about the existence of secondary bifurcations and how they are connected to each other. The basic idea, first employed by Bauer, Keller and Reiss in [1], and then coupled with singularity theory by Schaeffer and Golubitsky in [16] and [17] and by Buzano in [4], consists in unfolding a multiple eigenvalue, obtained by forcing two eigenvalues to coalesce by varying the geometric parameters of the shell. This approah is made possible by a general analysis of bifurcation problems invariant with respect to the symmetries of the cylinder i.e. with respect to the group O(2)Z 2.  相似文献
