The existence of quantum states of matter in a gravitational field was demonstrated recently in the Institut Laue–Langevin (ILL), Grenoble, in a series of experiments with ultra cold neutrons (UCN). UCN in low quantum states is an excellent probe for fundamental physics, in particular for constraining extra short-range forces; as well as a tool in quantum optics and surface physics. The GRANIT is a follow-up project based on a second-generation spectrometer with ultra-high energy resolution, permanently installed in ILL. It has been constructed in framework of an ANR grant; and will become operational in 2011.  相似文献

Hexaazatrianthracene (HATA) and hexaazatriphenylenehexacarbonitrile {HAT(CN)6} are reduced by metallic iron in the presence of crystal violet (CV+)(Cl). Anionic ligands are produced, which simultaneously coordinate three FeIICl2 to form (CV+)2{HATA ⋅ (FeIICl2)3}2− ⋅ 3 C6H4Cl2 ( 1 ) and (CV+)3{HAT(CN)6. (FeIICl2)3}3− ⋅ 0.5CVCl ⋅ 2.5 C6H4Cl2 ( 2 ). High-spin (S=2) FeII atoms in both structures are arranged in equilateral triangles at a distance of 7 Å. An antiferromagnetic exchange is observed between FeII in {HATA ⋅ (FeIICl2)3}2− ( 1 ) with a Weiss temperature (Θ) of −80 K, the PHI estimated exchange interaction (J) is −4.7 cm−1. The {HAT(CN)6 ⋅ (FeIICl2)3}3− assembly is obtained in 2 . The formation of HAT(CN)6.3− is supported by the appearance of an intense EPR signal with g=2.0037. The magnetic behavior of 2 is described by a strong antiferromagnetic coupling between the FeII and HAT(CN)6.3− spins with J1=−164 cm−1 (−2 J formalism) and by a weaker antiferromagnetic coupling between the FeII spins with J2=−15.4 cm−1. The stronger coupling results in the spins of the three FeIICl2 units to be aligned parallel to each other in the assembly. As a result, an increase of the χMT values is observed with the decrease of temperature from 9.82 at 300 K up to 15.06 emu ⋅ K/mol at 6 K, and the Weiss temperature is also positive being at +23 K. Thus, a change in the charge and spin state of the HAT-type ligand to ⋅3 results in ferromagnetic alignment of the FeII spins, yielding a high-spin (S=11/2) system. DFT calculations showed that, due to the high symmetry and nearly degenerated LUMO of both HATA and HAT(CN)6, their complexes with FeIICl2 have a variety of closely lying excited high-spin states with multiplicity up to S=15/2.  相似文献

For natural plant raw materials and for artificial mixture samples with different lignin content, a comparison between empirical equations for the calculation of higher heating values was carried out relying on the data of ultimate analysis. Selection of tested equations from already known was carried out according to the criteria: equations should be intended for work with plant raw materials; the range of used materials should be rather wide; the data on element content (C, H, N, S) obtained experimentally and in routine mode, as well as ash value of the material, should be variables; ambiguous equations should be excluded. Only 8 from more than 150 published equations were chosen for testing, and 3 of these provide calculation of higher heating values with a less than 5–6% deviation from reference values obtained by means of combustion in an adiabatic calorimeter.  相似文献

Gold nanoislands interact with gaseous ozone to produce a surface plasmon resonance shift, similarly to the interaction of ozone and gold nanoparticles in water. Gold nanoislands are produced by sputtering, which significantly simplifies the synthesis and produces controlled size for the gold nanoislands. The shift of surface plasmon resonance peak was monitored while gold nanoislands were exposed to variable concentration of gaseous ozone. The shift was then correlated with ozone concentration. Our current results indicate sensing gaseous ozone at concentration of as low as 20 μg/L is achievable. Gold nanoislands were reversed to their original wavelength and were able to cycle between the wavelengths as ozone was introduced and removed. Potentially, this system can be useful as a sensor that identifies the presence of ozone at low part-per-billion concentrations of ozone in gaseous media.  相似文献

Spectral properties of 1-D Schrödinger operators with local point interactions on a discrete set are well studied when d:=infn,kN|xnxk|>0. Our paper is devoted to the case d=0. We consider HX,α in the framework of extension theory of symmetric operators by applying the technique of boundary triplets and the corresponding Weyl functions.We show that the spectral properties of HX,α like self-adjointness, discreteness, and lower semiboundedness correlate with the corresponding spectral properties of certain classes of Jacobi matrices. Based on this connection, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the operators HX,α to be self-adjoint, lower semibounded, and discrete in the case d=0.The operators with δ-type interactions are investigated too. The obtained results demonstrate that in the case d=0, as distinguished from the case d>0, the spectral properties of the operators with δ- and δ-type interactions are substantially different.  相似文献

We describe the synthesis of two novel well-defined tower-shaped 1,3,5-trisubstituted adamantanes 30 and 33 that incorporate a macrocyclic trilactam ring system. Each nanoscale molecule has a broad tripodal base consisting of three identical sulfur-containing termini as the tripod feet, 4-acetylsulfanylmethylphenyl units in the case of 30 and 3,5-bis(acetylsulfanylmethyl)phenyl units in the case of 33. The sulfur atoms are designed to bind the molecules trivalently to the apex of a gold-coated commercial AFM tip through formation of three S-Au bonds. The rigid adamantane-derived head unit with a single hydrogen atom at the apex is designed to scan the sample. Molecules 30 and 33 are synthesized from 1,3,5-triethynyladamantane by a series of Sonogashira coupling reactions involving terminal alkynes and aryl iodides. A macrocyclic trilactam unit is included for added rigidity. We demonstrate that molecule 30 is sufficiently large and rigid to be visualized by a conventional AFM tip. These nanoscale molecules may also find application as chemically well-defined nanoscale objects for calibration of AFM tips.  相似文献

[reaction: see text] A variety of alkynylsilanes were efficiently prepared via direct silylation of terminal alkynes with aminosilanes in the presence of zinc halides. Base- and nucleophile-sensitive functionalities were perfectly tolerated under the above reaction conditions.
