Kadets-Type Theorems for Partitions of a Convex Body

For convex partitions of a convex body B, we try to put a homothetic copy of B into each set of the partition so that the sum of the homothety coefficients is at least?1. In the plane this can be done for an arbitrary partition, while in higher dimensions we need certain restrictions on the partition.     

Photoinduced Effects in the ZnO Luminescence Spectra

The effect of intense UV irradiation on the photoluminescence (PL) spectra of ZnO powders and nanocrystalline films obtained by atomic layer deposition (ALD) was investigated. At room temperature, the behavior of the spectra under continuous UV irradiation in multiple vacuum-atmosphere cycles was studied. The changes in the intensities of exciton radiation and radiation in the “green” band region, associated with the phenomena of oxygen photodesorption and photoadsorption, are discussed. In the temperature range of 5–300 K, the effect of strong UV irradiation on the near-edge luminescence spectrum of ZnO films was studied. The nature of a new line arising in the photoluminescence spectra of an irradiated film in the region of emission of bound excitons is discussed.

     

Best approximation of the differentiation operator on the class of functions analytic in a strip

On the class of functions analytic in a strip, we study a number of related extremal problems for the differentiation operator: the best approximation of the operator, computation of its modulus of continuity, and optimal recovery of the operator from boundary values of a function given with error on a straight line.     

General Bell-CHSH type and entropic inequalities based on quantum tomograms

Review of Bell-CHSH type and entropic inequalities in composite quantum correlated systems in the probability representation of states is presented. The upper bounds for some new Bell-CHSH type inequalities within the framework of classical probability theory and in quantum tomography are compared. Violation of Bell-CHSH type inequalities are shown explicitly using the method of averaging in tomographic picture of quantum states. Joint tomographic entropies of multiqubit systems are studied. Limitations on inequalities for tomographic entropies are obtained. A negative result of possible connection between the violation of entropic and Bell-CHSH type inequalities in multi-partite states is reported.

A Knowledge Base on Special Functions

An approach to developing a mathematical knowledge base on special functions is described and an example of such a knowledge base is presented. The problem consists of creating a uniform structural approach to classification of special functions of different types. Such an approach was realized in a series of papers by the authors. Two variants of an experimental version of the SFTools knowledge base developed on the basis of such a classification are presented. The first variant is realized in the Delphi language and works in the environment of the Windows 95 and Windows NT operating systems. The second variant presents an Internet modification of SFTools; it is realized in the Java language. Bibliography: 6 titles.
