The Schiff bases of N(2)O(2) dibasic ligands, H(2)La and H(2)Lb are prepared by the condensation of ethylenediamine (a) and trimethylenediamine (b) with 6-formyl-7-hydroxy-5-methoxy-2-methylbenzopyran-4-one. Also tetra basic ligands, H(4)La and H(4)Lb are prepared by the condensation of aliphatic amines (a) and (b) with 6-formyl-5,7-dihydroxy-2-methylbenzopyran-4-one. New complexes of H(4)La and H(4)Lb with metal ions Mn(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) are synthesized, in addition Mn(II) complexes with ligands H(2)La and H(2)Lb are also synthesized. Elemental and thermal analyses, infrared, ultraviolet-visible as well as conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements are used to elucidate the structure of the newly prepared metal complexes. The structures of copper(II) complexes are also assigned based upon ESR spectra study. All the complexes separated with the stoichiometric ratio (1:1) (M:L) except Mn-H(4)La and Mn-H(4)Lb with (2:1) (M:L) molar ratio. In metal chelates of the type 1:1 (M:L), the Schiff bases behave as a dinegative N(2)O(2) tetradentate ligands. Moreover in 2:1 (M:L) complexes, the Schiff base molecules act as mono negative bidentate ligand and binuclear complex is then formed. The Schiff bases were assayed by the disc diffusion method for antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. Energy locations in the band gap have been determined for the thermally accessible levels of the negative-U defect centers in amorphous selenium. Both the temperature dependence of the steady-state photocurrents, and an analysis of emission currents in the post-transit regime of a time-of-flight transient photoconductivity experiment on the same samples, agree on the presence of defect levels at (0.42 ± 0.04) eV above the valence band mobility edge and (0.53 ± 0.06) eV below the conduction band. The effects of cloud dimensions and orientation on the scattering pattern have been examined assuming rectangular shaped finite clouds corresponding to cumulus. The clouds are illuminated by the visible solar radiation. The analysis shows the following. (1) A cloud of horizontal extent less than 5 times its vertical dimension should be regarded as a finite cloud for estimating scattering patterns. (2) The importance of cloud shape increases with increasing solar zenith angle. (3) Surrounding clouds located at a distance of about 5 times their diameter away from the central cloud do not alter the scattering pattern. The surrounding clouds increase the fraction of reflection as they approach the central cloud, this effect becoming evident when the separation is about twice the cloud diameter, corresponding to a cloud amount of about 25%. 相似文献

Conclusion In both cases, brittle fracture and dropping breakdown, only very little deformation or elongation was observed in the experiments mentioned above, and limiting conditions were obtained reproducibly with respect to rate of extension and temperature. The brittle limits give the condition where the viscous resistance due to locally concentrated stress, i. e. the grip effect (5) exceeds cohesion of the materials, and development of the surface of separation is followed. At the dropping limits, the viscosities of the liquids may be too small to resist shrinking by surface tension with respect to the rate of extension. Although the theory of spinnability proposed here may be only tentative, it can be pointed out that surface tension plays some important role in spinning of viscous liquids of lower molecules. Concerning higher molecules, rubber-like elasticity as well as viscosity may become more important (6).

Die Bruchgrenzen geben die Bedingungen, bei denen der viskose Widerstand entsprechend den lokalen Spannungskonzentrationen, d. h. entsprechend den grip-Effekt die Kohäsion des Materials übersteigt, und die Entwickelung der Trennfläche wird verfolgt. Bei der Grenzbelastung für das Absinken der Spannung mag die Viskosität der Flüssigkeiten zu gering sein, um dem Schrumpfen durch Oberflächenspannung im Vergleich mit der Dehnungsgeschwindigkeit entgegen zu wirken. Obgleich die Theorie der Spinnbarkeit, hier vorgeschlagen, nur einen Versuch darstellt, kann behauptet werden, daß die Oberflächenspannung beim Spinnen viskoser Flüssigkeiten mit kleineren Molekülen eine wichtige Rolle spielt. Für höhermolekulare Substanzen wird neben der Viskosität auch die Gummielastizität ausschlaggebend.相似文献
