A very simple methodology to stereoselectively achieve tricyclic isonucleosides (nucleobase = thymine, uracil, and 5-fluoruracil) and 3'-C-branched nucleosides (nucleobase = theophylline) was performed by means of a DBU-mediated addition process using a readily available 2-bromo sugar. The mechanism for these transformations implies the loss of both substituents at C-2 and C-3 on the sugar moiety, and although it seems that DBU is probably involved, its involvement has not yet been ascertained. Treatment of the metallo ligands [ML(pz)(2)(Hpz)] (pz = pyrazolate; L = C(5)Me(5), M = Ir (1); L = mesitylene, M = Ru (3)) with [M'Cl{HB(3-i-Pr-4-Br-pz)(3)}] (M' = Co (4), Ni (5)) yields heterodinuclear complexes of formula [LM(&mgr;-pz)(2)(&mgr;-Cl)M'{HB(3-i-Pr-4-Br-pz)(3)}] (L = C(5)Me(5); M = Ir; M' = Co (6), Ni (7). L = mesitylene; M = Ru; M' = Co (8)). The related complex [Ru(eta(6)-p-cymene)(pz)(2)(Hpz)] (2) reacts with equimolar amounts of 4 or 5 to give mixtures of the corresponding bis(&mgr;-pyrazolato) &mgr;-chloro complexes [(eta(6)-p-cymene)Ru(&mgr;-pz)(2)(&mgr;-Cl)M'{HB(3-i-Pr-4-Br-pz)(3)}] (M' = Co (9), Ni (10)) and the triply pyrazolato-bridged complexes [(eta(6)-p-cymene)Ru(&mgr;-pz)(3)M'{HB(3-i-Pr-4-Br-pz)(3)}] (M' = Co (11), Ni (12)). Complex 1 reacts with 5 in the presence of KOH to give the IrNi complex [(eta(5)-C(5)Me(5))Ir(&mgr;-pz)(3)Ni{HB(3-i-Pr-4-Br-pz)(3)}] (13) whereas its reaction with 4 and KOH rendered the bis(&mgr;-pyrazolato) &mgr;-hydroxo complex [(eta(5)-C(5)Me(5))Ir(&mgr;-pz)(2)(&mgr;-OH)Co{HB(3-i-Pr-4-Br-pz)(3)}] (14). The molecular structure of the heterobridged IrCo complex (6) and those of the homobridged RuNi (12) and IrNi (13) complexes have been determined by X-ray analyses. Compound 6 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n, with a = 10.146(5) ?, b = 18.435(4) ?, c = 22.187(13) ?, beta = 97.28(4) degrees, and Z = 4. Complex 12 is monoclinic, space group P2(1), with a = 10.1169(7) ?, b = 21.692(2) ?, c = 11.419(1) ?, beta = 112.179(7) degrees, and Z = 2. Compound 13 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group Cc, with a = 13.695(2) ?, b = 27.929(6) ?, c = 13.329(2) ?, beta = 94.11(4) degrees, and Z = 4. All the neutral complexes 6, 12, and 13 consist of linear M.M'.B backbones with two (6) or three (12, 13) pyrazolate ligands bridging the dimetallic M.M' units and three substituted 3-i-Pr-4-Br-pz groups joining M' to the boron atoms. The presence in the proximity of the first-row metal M' of the three space-demanding isopropyl substituents of the pyrazolate groups induces a significant trigonal distortion of the octahedral symmetry, yielding clearly different M'-N bond distances on both sides of the ideal octahedral coordination sphere of these metals. 相似文献

We show that X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) can be employed to probe the oxidation states and other electronic structural features of nickel active sites in proteins. As a calibration standard, we have measured XMCD and X-ray absorption (XAS) spectra for the nickel(II) derivative of Pseudomonas aeruginosa azurin (NiAz). Our analysis of these spectra confirms that the electronic ground state of NiAz is high-spin (S = 1); we also find that the L(3)-centroid energy is 853.1(1) eV, the branching ratio is 0.722(4), and the magnetic moment is 1.9(4) mu(B). Density functional theory (DFT) calculations on model NiAz structures establish that orbitals 3d(x2-y2) and 3d(z2) are the two valence holes in the high-spin Ni(II) ground state, and in accord with the experimentally determined orbital magnetic moment, the DFT results also demonstrate that both holes are highly delocalized, with 3d(x2-y2) having much greater ligand character. 相似文献

The ionic Diels-Alder reaction, whereby an alpha,beta-unsaturated acetal in combination with a Lewis or Bronsted acid forms an equilibrium concentration of an activated dienophile, has been developed to provide an enantioselective synthesis of cis-decalins. Cyclohex-2-enone type chiral acetals of (2R,3R)-butane-2,3-diol have been screened against Lewis and Br?nsted acids with a variety of dienes and are efficient for the synthesis of a limited subset of cis-decalin structures. Diastereoselectivities of 73% and 82% have been found for the asymmetric ionic Diels-Alder reaction between the chiral acetal derivatives of cyclohex-2-enone (6) and 2-methylcyclohex-2-enone (18) with 2,3-dimethyl-1,3-butadiene (7). Terminal substituents on the diene partner in general render the system unreactive. However a synthetically useful cis-decalin 31, derived from the reaction of 2-methylcyclohex-2-enone and Z-3-t-butyldimethyl-silyloxypenta-1,3-diene has been prepared in enantiomerically pure form in 74% isolated yield using this asymmetric ionic Diels-Alder protocol. 相似文献

The pulsed-field ionization (PFI) photoelectron (PE) spectrum of HF has been recorded at the chemical dynamics beamline of the advanced light source over the photon energy range 15.9-16.5 eV using a time-of-flight selection scheme at a resolution of 0.6 meV. Rotationally-resolved structure in the HF+(X 2 pi 3/2, 1/2, v+ = 0, 1) band systems are assigned. The spectral appearance of these systems agrees with a previous VUV laser PFI-PE study. Importantly, extensive rotationally-resolved structure between these two vibrational band systems is also observed. This is attributed to ion-pair formation via Rydberg states converging on the v+ = 1 vibrational levels of the HF+(X 2 pi 3/2, 1/2) spin-orbit states. These Rydberg states are assigned to the 1 sigma+ part of the nd-complexes (sigma, pi, and delta). Ion-pair formation is observed in this study by the detection of F- ions. Some partially rotationally-resolved structure in a previously published threshold photoelectron spectrum is similarly attributed to ion-pair formation (F- detection) through a combination of the v+ = 17 level of the (A 2 sigma+) 3s sigma Rydberg state and the (X 2 pi 3/2, 1/2, v+ = 1) 7d Rydberg states. On the basis of the present study, an accurate experimental value for the dissociation energy of the ground state of HF has been obtained, D0(HF) = 5.8650(5) eV. 相似文献

Conformational stability of G-quartets found in telomeric DNA quadruplex structures requires the coordination of monovalent ions. Here, an extensive Hartree-Fock and density functional theory analysis of the energetically favored position of Li+, Na+, and K+ ions is presented. The calculations show that at quartet-quartet distances observed in DNA quadruplex structures (3.3 A), the Li+ and Na+ ions favor positions of 0.55 and 0.95 A outside the plane of the G-quartet, respectively. The larger K+ ion prefers a central position between successive G-quartets. The energy barrier separating the minima in the quartet-ion-quartet model are much smaller for the Li+ and Na+ ions compared with the K+ ion; this suggests that K+ ions will not move as freely through the central channel of the DNA quadruplex. Spin-spin coupling constants and isotropic chemical shifts in G-quartets extracted from crystal structures of K+- and Na+-coordinated DNA quadruplexes were calculated with B3LYP/6-311G(d). The results show that the sizes of the trans-hydrogen-bond couplings are influenced primarily by the hydrogen bond geometry and only slightly by the presence of the ion. The calculations show that the R(N2N7) distance of the N2-H2...N7 hydrogen bond is characterized by strong correlations to both the chemical shifts of the donor group atoms and the (h2)J(N2N7) couplings. In contrast, weaker correlations between the (h3)J(N1C6') couplings and single geometric factors related to the N1-H1...O6=C6 hydrogen bond are observed. As such, deriving geometric information on the hydrogen bond through the use of trans-hydrogen-bond couplings and chemical shifts is more complex for the N1-H1...O6=C6 hydrogen bond than for the N2-H2...N7 moiety. The computed trans-hydrogen-bond couplings are shown to correlate with the experimentally determined couplings. However, the experimental values do not show such strong geometric dependencies. 相似文献

Hydrogen-bonded interactions between local defect structures on broken clay surfaces modeled as molecular clusters and the organic molecules acetic acid, acetate, and N-methylacetamide (NMA) have been investigated. Density functional theory and polarized basis sets have been used for the computation of optimized interaction complexes and formation energies. The activity of the defect structures has been characterized as physical or chemical in terms of the strength of the hydrogen bonds formed. Chemical defects lead to significantly enhanced interactions with stronger hydrogen bonds and larger elongation of OH bonds in comparison to the physical defects. The type of interaction with the defect structure significantly influences the planarity of the model peptide bond in NMA. Both cases, enhancement of the planarity by increase of the CN double bond character and strong deviations from planarity, are observed. 相似文献

Three [3]catenanes with cavities large enough to accommodate aromatic guests have been designed and synthesized (yields = 5-20 %) by means of kinetically controlled self-assembly processes. The X-ray structural analysis of one of three [3]catenanes confirmed the presence of a rectangular cavity (dimensions = 7 x 11 A) lined by pi-electron-rich recognition sites and hydrogen-bond acceptor groups. In spite of their apparently ideal recognition features, none of these [3]catenanes bind guests incorporating a pi-electron-deficient bipyridinium unit. However, the template-directed syntheses of the [3]catenanes also produce, in yields of 2-23%, [2]catenanes incorporating a 1,5-dioxynaphtho[38]crown-10 interlocked with a bipyridinium-based tetracationic cyclophane. The X-ray structural analyses of two of these [2]catenanes revealed that a combination of [pi...pi] and [C-H...pi] interactions is responsible for the formation of supramolecular homodimers in the solid state. 1H NMR spectroscopic investigations of the four [2]catenanes demonstrated that supramolecular homodimers are also formed (Ka= 17-31M(-1), T= 185 K) in (CD3)2CO solutions. Dynamic 1H NMR spectroscopy revealed that the 1,5-dioxynaphtho[38]crown-10 and tetracationic cyclophane components in the four [2]catenanes and in the three [3]catenanes circumrotate (deltaGc(not equal to) = 9-14 kcal mol(-1)) through each other's cavity in (CD3)2CO. Similarly, the 1,5-dioxynaphthalene and the bipyridinium ring systems rotate (deltaGc(not equal to) =10-14 kcal mol(-1)) about their [O...O] and [N...N] axes, respectively, in solution. 相似文献
