Obliquely propagating altra-low-frequency dust-electromagnetic waves in a self-gravitating, warm, magnetized, two fluid dusty plasma system have been investigated. Two special cases, namely, dust-Alfvén mode propagating parallel to the external magnetic field and dustmagnetosonic mode propagating perpendicular to the external magnetic field have also been considered. It has been shown that effects of self-gravitational field, dust fluid temperature, and obliqueness significantly modify the dispersion properties of these ultra-low-frequency dust-electromagnetic modes. It is also found that in parallel propagating dust-Alfvén mode these effects play no role, but in obliquely propagating dust-Alfvén mode or perpendicular propagating dust-magnetosonic mode the effect of self-gravitational field plays destabilizing role whereas the effect of dust/ion fluid temperature plays stabilizing role.  相似文献

In this paper a projection method for the Navier–Stokes equations with Coriolis force is considered. This time-stepping algorithm takes into account the Coriolis terms both on prediction and correction steps. We study the accuracy of its semi-discretized form and show that the velocity is weakly first-order approximation and the pressure is weakly order \frac12\frac{1}{2} approximation.  相似文献

The influence of molecular weight, M, on the fragility and fast dynamics in polyisobutylene (PIB) was studied using dielectric and mechanical relaxation spectroscopies, calorimetry, and Raman spectroscopy. The measurements indicate a decrease in fragility with increasing M for shorter chains, in the range of M where Tg is M‐dependent. Such behavior is not observed for other polymers and is at odds with traditional theoretical models that predict an increase in fragility with chain length. These results confirm the unusual character of PIB, as evident in various properties including extremely low gas permeability, a low fragility, and a segmental relaxation spectrum much broader than expected for a low‐fragility material. The reason for this anomalous behavior remains unclear, but might be related to the symmetric structure of the PIB repeat unit, together with comparable flexibility of both structural components, the backbone and side groups. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We present the latest improvements in the Center for Radiative Shock Hydrodynamics (CRASH) code, a parallel block-adaptive-mesh Eulerian code for simulating high-energy-density plasmas. The implementation can solve for radiation models with either a gray or a multigroup method in the flux-limited-diffusion approximation. The electrons and ions are allowed to be out of temperature equilibrium and flux-limited electron thermal heat conduction is included. We have recently implemented a CRASH laser package with 3-D ray tracing, resulting in improved energy deposition evaluation. New, more accurate opacity models are available which significantly improve radiation transport in materials like xenon. In addition, the HYPRE preconditioner has been added to improve the radiation implicit solver. With this updated version of the CRASH code we study radiative shock tube problems. In our set-up, a 1 ns, 3.8 kJ laser pulse irradiates a 20 micron beryllium disk, driving a shock into a xenon-filled plastic tube. The electrons emit radiation in the shocked xenon. This radiation preheats the unshocked xenon. Photons traveling ahead of the shock will also interact with the plastic tube, heat it, and in turn this can drive another shock off the wall into the xenon.  相似文献

The characteristics of silver-sodium ion exchange in standard commercial sodium-calcium-silicate glass are investigated using mode spectroscopy. The activation energy of the process, the silver-sodium interdiffusion coefficient, and the dependence of the maximal modulation of the refractive index on the silver nitrate concentration in the experimental salt bath are determined. The data set presented here makes it possible to specify the conditions for the formation of ion-exchange optical structures with preset parameters based on the glasses studied here.  相似文献
