A series of Fe-S and Fe-Se cubane clusters containing all four combinations of the general formula [Fe(4)X(4)(Y-CH(3))(4)](2)(-) (X = S/Se, Y = S/Se) is investigated with FTIR and Raman spectroscopy. The terminally selenolate coordinated clusters (Y = Se) are prepared by a new synthetic route. All four cluster compounds are structurally characterized by X-ray single-crystal structure determination. Infrared and Raman spectra of all compounds are presented and interpreted with normal coordinate analysis. The corresponding force fields are based on that developed for the Fe(4)S(4)-benzyl cluster (Czernuszewicz, R. S.; Macor, K. A.; Johnson, M. K.; Gewirth, A.; Spiro, T. G. J. Am.Chem. Soc. 1987, 109, 7178-7187). An empirical procedure is presented to convert Fe-S into Fe-Se force constants. Only minor changes in force constants are found upon S --> Se exchange, reflecting the similarity of the Fe-S and Fe-Se bonds. The drastic frequency shifts in the metal-ligand region observed upon substitution of sulfur by selenium are, therefore, primarily due to the corresponding mass changes.  相似文献

A simple liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS) method for the determination of nicotine and cotinine in human hair was established. In the procedure, a hair sample (10 mg) was washed with dichloromethane and digested in 2.5 M sodium hydroxide. The digest was extracted with dichloromethane and then 25 mM hydrochloric acid in methanol was added to the extract, to prevent loss of analytes. The solution was evaporated and redissolved in the mobile phase, methanol/10 mM ammonium acetate (30/70, v/v). A 20 microL aliquot of redissolved solution was subjected to analysis. Nicotine and cotinine in human hair were quantified by using deuterated analytes as internal standards. The quantification limits were 8 microg/L for nicotine and 0.9 microg/L for cotinine. The proposed method was applied to measure the concentrations of nicotine and cotinine in hair of smokers and non-smokers to evaluate their self-reported smoking and exposure to environmental tobacco smoke. In both cases, the method provided good selectivity, accuracy and precision.  相似文献

Dynamic light scattering has been used to determine the hydrodynamic thickness of poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) adsorbed on synthetic anisotropic clay particles (Laponite) as a function of molecular weight. The layer thicknesses, and their increase with molecular weight, indicate that the conformation of the adsorbed layer is very compact and is much smaller than those normally observed for polymer adsorption on flat interfaces. The aggregation kinetics of the polymer coated particles in 5 mM NaCl was analyzed in a quantitative manner, revealing that the potential barrier to aggregation is strongly enhanced when polymer is present.  相似文献

The suitability of methacrylate based anion exchange monolithic supports for the separation and purification of plasmid and genomic DNA has been explored. The effect of the size of the channels, ionic strength of the solution, and ligand density on the dynamic binding capacity has been investigated. The dynamic binding capacity was found to be flow independent, at least up to a linear velocity of 700 cm h(-1), and exceeded 9 mg mL(-1) for all types of DNA. The recovery depends on the pH value of the mobile phase and its ionic strength as well as on the density of the active groups. Under optimal conditions recoveries exceeding 80% were obtained even for genomic DNA. Finally, the suitability of this approach is demonstrated by purification of a real-life sample.  相似文献

Treatment of 5-trimethylsilylthebaine with L-Selectride gave rise to a rearrangement to 10-trimethylsilylbractazonine through migration of the phenyl group, whereas treatment of thebaine with strong Lewis acids is known to lead to a similar rearrangement through migration of the alkyl bridge to give, after reduction, (+)-neodihydrothebaine. It is suggested that the rearrangement of the alkyl group of thebaine is favored due to the formation of a tertiary benzylic cation. However, for 5-trimethylsilylthebaine, the lithium ion of L-Selectride acts as the Lewis acid and the beta-silyl effect dominates in the stabilization of any positive charge. This rearrangement provides a clear example of the greater relative migratory aptitude of phenyl groups over alkyl groups, and provides an efficient synthesis of (+)-bractazonine from thebaine.  相似文献

A comparative study of the performance of liquid chromatography (LC)-atmospheric pressure chemical ionisation (APCI)-mass spectrometry (MS) and gas chromatography (GC)-mass spectrometry techniques for the determination of resin and fatty acids from paper mill process waters was carried out. These compounds are responsible for the high toxicity of paper mill effluents and little research has been carried out regarding their analysis using mass spectrometric techniques. To prove the usability of GC and LC-MS, 16 treated and untreated water samples of recycle, kraft and pulp paper mills were analysed and good agreement was observed as regards to compounds detected and corresponding concentrations. This paper also reports the limits of detection, recoveries, reproducibility, linearity and precision using the two methods. GC-MS presented better selectivity and lower detection limits (below 0.2 microg/l), but derivatization of the extracts and the short life of derivatives (12-24 h) made the technique tedious and prone to high variations. Although LC-APCI-MS presented coelution of the non-aromatic resin acids, it also showed good sensitivity (limits of detection <3 microg/l) and permitted the detection of resin and fatty acids at microg/l level. In addition, since samples could be directly injected to the chromatographic system, LC-APCI-MS was proven as a powerful technique for quick and unequivocal quality control during papermaking.  相似文献

We show that the resolution of homonuclear multidimensional solid-state NMR correlation experiments can be significantly improved using transition selection and spin-state-selective polarization transfer techniques. The selection and transfer of single states allow the removal of the J-coupling contribution from the line width in both the direct and indirect spectral dimensions. This is demonstrated with a new spin-state-selective CO-Calpha correlation experiment, applied to a microcrystalline 85-residue protein. With this new sequence, all four components of the CO-Calpha cross-peaks are separated into different spectra, obtained by linear combination of four recorded data sets. Line narrowing of up to 44% was obtained on the protein sample for the spin-state-selective CO-Calpha spectrum compared to a standard spin-diffusion experiment. The new technique also allows an easy distinction between "direct" and "relayed" transfer cross-peaks.  相似文献

Dimethylformamide (DMF) acts as an efficient source of carbon monoxide and dimethylamine in the palladium-catalyzed aminocarbonylation (Heck carbonylation) of p-tolyl bromide to provide the dimethylamide. Addition of amines to the reaction mixture in excess delivers the corresponding aryl amides in good yields. The amines employed, benzylamine, morpholine, and aniline, all constitute good reaction partners. The reaction proceeds smoothly with bromobenzene and more electron-rich aryl bromides, but electron-deficient aryl bromides fail to undergo aminocarbonylation. The reactions are conducted at 180-190 degrees C for 15-20 min with microwave heating in a reaction mixture containing imidazole and potassium tert-butoxide: the latter is required to promote decomposition of the DMF solvent at a suitable rate. The beneficial effects of controlled microwave irradiation as an energy source for the rapid heating of the carbonylation reaction mixture are demonstrated. The carbonylation procedure reported herein, which relies on the in situ generation of carbon monoxide, serves as a convenient alternative to other carbonylation methods and is particularly applicable to small-scale reactions where short reaction times are desired and the direct use of carbon monoxide gas is impractical.  相似文献

Mono- and multilayers of amphiphilic [Ru(phen)(2)(dcC12bpy)](2+) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, dcC12bpy = 4,4'-caboxyl-2,2'-bipyridyl didodecyl ester) hybridized with a clay mineral have been prepared by a modified Langmuir-Blodgett method, and their structures and properties have been investigated. Formation of a hybrid monolayer of the Ru(II) complex cations and the clay platelets at an air-clay suspension interface was confirmed by surface pressure-molecular area (pi-A) isotherm measurement and atomic force microscopic (AFM) observation. Multilayers were fabricated by depositing the hybrid monolayers onto glass substrates. The absorbance at 492 nm due to the Ru(II) complex cation in the multilayer increased linearly with the increase in the layer number, indicating layer-by-layer deposition of the hybrid monolayers. Because no increase in the second-harmonic generation (SHG) signal from the multilayers against the layer number was observed, the orientation of the Ru(II) complex cations in the layer would be disturbed. The hydrophilic surface of the transferred hybrid monolayer can be converted to a hydrophobic surface by dipping it in an aqueous solution of octadecylammonium chloride (ODAH(+)Cl(-)). The multilayers modified with ODAH(+) showed a quadratic relation between the SHG intensity and the layer number. This means that the Ru(II) complex cations in the multilayer are successfully oriented in a noncentrosymmetric way by the conversion of the surface property. Both a racemic mixture and an enantiomer of the Ru(II) complex cations were employed to examine the chiral effect on the film properties. The chiral contribution to the SHG signal was enhanced in the multilayer modified with ODAH(+).  相似文献
