Measurement of Integrated Stokes Parameters for He 3 ^3p State Excited by Spin-Polarized Electrons

Integrated Stokes parameters Pi （i = 1, 2, 3） for the He 3 ^3p → 2 ^3S1 （388.9nm） transition after excitation from the ground state to the 3 3 p state by a transversely spin-polarized electron beam are measured in near threshold energy region. The experimental results are presented. The linear-polarization P2 are consistent with zero over the incident energy range, providing evidence for the LS coupling mechanism of the 3 ^3p state. The measured circular polarization P3 are non-zero, indicating strong electron-electron exchange effects in the spin-polarized electron-atom collision process.

Conserved Densities of the Black-Scholes Equation

A class of new conserved densities of the Black-Scholes equation are constructed by using the multiplier that is derived from the result of divergence expression annihilation under the full Euler operator. The method does not depend on the symmetries of the Black-Scholes equation. These conserved densities can be expressed by solutions of the classical heat equation.     

Theoretical Study of Elastic Properties of Tungsten Disilicide1

The plane-wave pseudopotential method using the generalized gradient approximation within the framework of density functional theory is applied to analyse the lattice parameters, elastic constants, bulk moduli, shear moduli and Young＇s moduli of WSi2. The quasi-harmonic Debye model, using a set of total energy versus cell volume obtained with the plane-wave pseudopotential method, is applied to the study of the elastic properties and vibrational effects. The athermal elastic constants of WSi2 are calculated as a function of pressure up to 35 GPa. The relationship between bulk modulus and temperature up to 1200 K is also obtained. Moreover, the Debye temperature is determined from the non-equilibrium Gibbs function. The calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental data.
