将光纤光栅粘于铝材料基底上,利用温度梯度方法实现了光纤光栅的啁啾调谐.当光纤光栅两端温度差为28.1℃时,得到了4倍以上的反射带宽展宽.     

Several mechanically-induced long-period gratings by a grooved plate

A simple method to mechanically induce a long-period fiber grating (LPFG) by a grooved plate is improved. The transmission spectra of a grating under different pressures and other types of gratings are experimentally investigated. This method is simple and reconfigurable and offers large spectra tunability. This type of LPFG has potential applications in gain flattening in erbium-doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA) and will be of particular use in filter design.     

Widely tunable all-optical wavelength converter based on four-wave mixing using two orthogonally polarized pumps

The principle of broad-band orthogonal-pump (BOP) four-wave mixing in semiconductor optical amplifiers is analyzed in theory. The conversion efficiency reduces rapidly as the detuning of wavelength between the signal and pump increase which can be solved by introducing a BOP method. The constant conversion efficiency and signal-to-noise ratio are obtained over a large wavelength detuning range. The wavelength conversion efficiency with variation smaller than 3.88 dB over 52-nm range has been experimentally demonstrated by using BOP, with the 10-GHz output of distributed feedback/electro-absorption modulator as signal. Conventional single-pump scheme is also performed for comparison and the experimental results fit well with the theory.     

Tunable multi-wavelength fiber ring laser based on a Hi-Bi fiber loop mirror

A novel tunable multi-wavelength fiber ring laser based on semiconductor optical amplifier(SOA)is proposed by using a high-birefringence(Hi-Bi)fiber loop mirror(FLM)as wavelength filter.With this configuration,the wavelength spacing of this laser can be varied by using the different lengths of Hi-Bi fiber.8 wavelengths spacing on 450 GHz are experimentally obtained with more than 25-dB signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)for each channel using 1.28-m Hi-Bi fiber in Hi-Bi FLM.The output power variation between different channels is measured to be less than 5.9 dB.The linewidth of each channel is compressed from 0.347 to 0.186 nm by 1.5-m unpumped erbium-doped fiber(EDF).Meanwhile,17 wavelengths spacing on ITU-gird(100 GHz)are also obtained with 5.9-m Hi-Bi fiber in Hi-Bi FLM.All these channels can be tuned together over 0.4 nm.     

全光纤通信系统中的偏振激光器

报道了一种简单、实用的解决全光通信中的光源偏振问题的方法,并通过实验对偏振环形腔光纤激光器与没有偏振措施的普通环形腔激光器进行了比较,观察到了清晰的眼图.     

基于色散不对称光纤环形镜的锁模光纤激光器

在理论上数值计算了各种常量对色散不对称非线性光纤环形镜透射特性的影响。并分析了它作为被动锁模器件用于光纤激光器压窄脉冲的物理机制。利用8字形主被动混合锁模的结构在调制频率为9．998748700 GHz，波长为1566．65nm处获得了11ps的稳定锁模脉冲输出．对应谱宽0．297nm．同时在重复频率为9．995792825 GHz和9．996778256 GHz时分别得到了振幅均匀的二阶和三阶谐波锁模输出。证明色散不对称非线性光纤环形镜可以有效消减脉冲的尾翼和噪声．得到脉幅稳定的脉冲序列。     

利用锁模光纤激光器在色散位移光纤中产生超连续谱的研究

采用主动锁模光纤激光器输出的重复频率10GHz、脉宽7．97ps的脉冲作为抽运光源,无需压缩后直接抽运4．2km的普通色散位移光纤(DSF)．利用色散位移光纤中自相位调制、交叉相位调制等非线性效应的联合作用,获得了20dB带宽达125nm、覆盖整个C波段、L波段和部分S波段的超连续(SC)谱。实验研究了抽运光脉冲峰值功率和抽运波长对超连续谱宽度的影响,结果表明抽运光脉冲峰值功率越高,得到的超连续谱的带宽越宽;通过对抽运波长的优化,可以实现最大程度的超连续展宽;分析了滤波器带宽对脉冲质量的影响;利用0．4nm带宽的可调谐滤波器对从超连续谱中滤出脉冲的特性进行了研究,在超连续谱的不同波长处获得了脉宽为8．90～9．80ps、时间一带宽积为0．44～0．49的稳定的窄光脉冲。
