Experimental study on minimum resolvable velocity for heterodyne laser Doppler vibrometry

Compact waveguide CO_2 laser excited by a RF power supply

The design and performance of radio frequency (RF) excited partial Z-fold waveguide CO_2 laser with two channels are exposed. The length of the partial Z-fold channel is 3×460 mm and that of the single channel is 460 mm. The electrodes for the two channels are common and excited by a same RF source. According to our analysis, this kind of structure can greatly improve the laser offset frequency stability. In the experiments, we studied the variation of laser output power with gas pressure for two different channels. The maximum laser output power is about 23 W for the partial Z-fold channel and about 6 W for the single channel.     

Processing for laser radar range images

Imaging laser radar can give intensity and range images,which provide integrated 3-dimensional (3D) information about objects.However, dropouts and range anomalies exacerbate range images, which makes their background cluttered and target blurred.For background suppression,a new algorithm that combines intensity image and its mean is presented.By using this algorithm to process actual laser radar range images, most background noises are suppressed.According to range anomalies characteristics,multitemplate selection order mean filtering algorithm is presented and used for actual ladar range images where the distance between two targets is 77 m. This algorithm obtains the clear range image in which the interval of two objects is 75 m.The result shows that the processing algorithm is correct and effective.     

激光水中衰减系数的比较测量法研究

研究了激光水下衰减系数的比较测量法,通过在激光传输路径上进行多点测量激光能量或功率,经过数据拟合获得准确的激光水中衰减系数,此方法可以消除一般测量方法容器侧壁的反射及吸收的影响,并可在较长距离测量激光传输路径上不同位置的衰减系数。在实验室中测量了脉冲绿光、连续绿光、连续蓝光在自来水中衰减系数并进行了比较,结果表明蓝光在水中的衰减系数大于绿光。对水下光通信及水下目标探测具有一定参考价值。     

Single-frequency high-energy Yb-doped pulsed all-fiber laser

A single-frequency pulsed all-fiber laser with a master oscillator power amplifier configuration is presented. While maintaining the properties of single mode, linear polarization, and narrow linewidth, a single-pulse energy of 260 μJ and over 500-W peak power is experimentally demonstrated at 1 kHz by employing tensile strain gradient and pulse-shape control methods. In addition, approximately 55 dB of optical signal to noise ratio is also achieved.     

Polarization-locked VCSEL with PM fiber pigtail for quantum communication

Quantum communication is a new technology requiring a stable and reliable laser source for communication security. A new kind of polarization-locked vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) with polarization maintaining (PM) fiber pigtail is fabricated as a decoy state laser source. The VCSEL is packaged in a standard butterfly box integrated with thermoelectric coder (TEC) and thermistor. The optical pulse width of full-width at half-maximum (FWHM) is smaller than 400 ps with a 100-MHz on/off modulation frequency. The results reveal that modulation range is better than 4. Moreover, the polarization is stable, and the power extinction ratio is larger than 25. The center wavelength is 850 nm, and the SMSR is better than 40 dB.     

Electro-optically Q-switched RF excited partial Z-folded CO_2 waveguide laser

An electro-optically Q-switched partial Z-folded RF CO2 waveguide laser with an intracavity CdTe modulator has been designed and characterized. The partial Z-fold channel is 3 x 460 mm in length. In this paper we study the laser output power as a function of gas pressure for partial Z-fold channel without Q-switched crystal inside the cavity. The maximum laser output power is about 21 W. For Q-switch operation, the peak power is 730 W and the pulse width is 150 ns.     

脉冲相干激光雷达测距信号研究

对脉冲激光雷达外差测距信号进行了研究，理论上，采用调Q激光脉冲的数值计算波形，研究了脉冲激光经远处目标漫反向后进行外差接收的波形及其傅里叶变换频谱成分。实验上，研究了可调谐电光调Q射频激励波导CO2激光器脉冲激光经目标反射后的外差波形及其傅里叶变换频谱成分，并计算了目标的距离，理论分析与实验结果一致。     

电光调QCO_2激光器的六温度模型理论与速率方程理论比较分析

分别利用速率方程理论和六温度模型理论对Q开关CO2 激光器动力学过程进行了理论分析比较 ,实验上测得电光调Q射频波导CO2 激光器脉冲激光建立时间及峰值功率与速率方程理论和六温度模型理论计算结果一致 .但速率方程理论计算的激光脉冲宽度较“窄” ,并且几乎没有拖尾 ,而六温度模型理论计算的脉冲激光波形有明显的拖尾 ,符合实际测量的波形 .另外 ,六温度模型理论可以全面反映激光器工作气体中不同分子能级的能量转移过程 ,因此六温度模型理论分析更全面     

水下平台对卫星上行激光通信研究

在合理选择通信系统参量和通信信道参量的基础上,利用MonteCarlo方法模拟了卫星接收到的水下平台上行激光通信信号.分析了卫星接收信号的空间和时间分布特性,以及与望远镜接收视场角的关系,并计算了接收信号的信噪比,得出了3°望远镜视场角和15μs信号积分时间的优化参量.基于计算结果,根据激光脉冲的PPM调制方式和最大似然检测方法,计算了系统的通信误码率,同时分析了海气界面、云等传输介质对通信的影响.研究结果表明:根据文中给定通信系统参量,在典型海水、海气界面、云等环境条件下,卫星与激光信号中心水平距离5km范围内信号误码率10-4.因此位于水下60m的水下平台可能实现对卫星上行激光通信.
