Orientation dependence of structural transition in fcc Al driven under uniaxial compression by atomistic simulations

By molecular dynamics simulations employing an embedded atom method potential,we have investigated structural transformations in single crystal Al caused by uniaxial strain loading along the [001],[011] and [111] directions. We find that the structural transition is strongly dependent on the crystal orientations. The entire structure phase transition only occurs when loading along the [001] direction,and the increased amplitude of temperature for [001] loading is evidently lower than that for other orientations. The morphology evolutions of the structural transition for [011] and [111] loadings are analysed in detail. The results indicate that only 20% of atoms transit to the hcp phase for [011] and [111] loadings,and the appearance of the hcp phase is due to the partial dislocation moving forward on {111} fcc family. For [011] loading,the hcp phase grows to form laminar morphology in four planes,which belong to the {111} fcc family; while for [111] loading,the hcp phase grows into a laminar structure in three planes,which belong to the {111} fcc family except for the (111) plane. In this work we investigated the geometric phases of a qubit-oscillator system beyond the conventional rotating- wave approximation. We find that in the limiting of weak coupling the results coincide with that obtained under rotating-wave approximation while there exists an increasing difference with the increase of coupling constant. It was shown that the geometric phase is symmetric with respect to the sign of the detuning of the quantized field from the one-photon resonance under the conventional rotating-wave approximation while a red-blue detuning asymmetry occurs beyond the conventional rotating-wave approximation. 相似文献

We study quantum–classical correspondence in terms of the coherent wave functions of a charged particle in two- dimensional central-scalar potentials as well as the gauge field of a magnetic flux in the sense that the probability clouds of wave functions are well localized on classical orbits. For both closed and open classical orbits, the non-integer angular-momentum quantization with the level space of angular momentum being greater or less than is determined uniquely by the same rotational symmetry of classical orbits and probability clouds of coherent wave functions, which is not necessarily 2π-periodic. The gauge potential of a magnetic flux impenetrable to the particle cannot change the quantization rule but is able to shift the spectrum of canonical angular momentum by a flux-dependent value, which results in a common topological phase for all wave functions in the given model. The well-known quantum mechanical anyon model becomes a special case of the arbitrary quantization, where the classical orbits are 2π-periodic. 相似文献

The eigenstates and eigenspectrum of a charged particle in a one-dimensional semiconductor superlattice with an impurity under the action of a dc electric field are investigated employing the single-band tight-binding model. We find that the system undergoes a series of avoided crossings, at which resonant oscillations between the impurity and its nearest neighbour occur if appropriate conditions are met, suggesting an effective two-level approximation. This phenomenon shows that introducing an impurity in a perfect lattice provides a promising structure for the observation of terahertz radiation. 相似文献

Based on the exact solution of the time-dependent Schr\"{o}dinger
equation for two-species Bose--Einstein condensates (BECs)
consisting of two hyperfine states of the atoms coupled by a tuned
adiabatic and time-varying Raman coupling, we obtain analytically
the entanglement dynamics of the system with various initial
states, particularly the SU(2) coherent state, for both of
cases with and without the nonlinear interactions. It is shown
that the effect of nonlinear interaction on the entanglement
appears only in a longer time period depending on the BEC

With the help of the time-dependent gauge transformation technique, we have
studied the geometric phase of a spin-half particle in a rotating magnetic
field. We have found that the slow but finite frequency of the rotating
magnetic field will make the difference between the adiabatic geometric phase and
the exact geometric phase. When the frequency is much smaller than the
energy space and the adiabatic condition is perfectly guaranteed, the
adiabatic approximation geometric phase is exactly consistent with the
adiabatic geometric phase. A simple relation for the accuracy of the
adiabatic approximation is given in terms of the changing rate of the frequency of
the rotating magnetic field and the energy level space. 相似文献
