We have fabricated in-plane slanted gratings on azo-functionalized polymeric films using a fast, direct-writing method. By properly adjusting the resonance, these gratings can be used as 90 degrees integrated reflectors and add/drop filters in the plane of the film. We have produced an attenuation of 14.8 dB at 1560.2 nm with a FWHM of 6.47 nm. Also, a signal of 1548 nm wavelength was added to the output from a different direction. Any light shifted from the resonance will pass through the filter undisturbed. 相似文献

We report on the optical storage of digital data in a semiconductor sample containing DX centers. The diffraction efficiency and the bit-error-rate performance of multiplexed data images are shown to agree well with a simple model of the material. Uniform storage without an exposure schedule is demonstrated. The volume sensitivity is found to be ~10(3) times that of LiNBO(3):Fe. The importance of coherent addition of scattered light with diffracted light in holographic data storage is discussed. 相似文献

The mixed micellization between the cationic gemini surfactant [ C12H25( CH3)2N+( C2H4) N+( CH3)2 C12H25•2Br-] and the cationic cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) in 150 mM KBr solutions has been investigated. The variation of the
cmc of the mixtures, measured by surface tension experiments, with composition revealed synergism in micelle formation. T-Jump
and light scattering experiments performed in the vicinity of the crossover volume fraction showed the existence of two micellar
populations, possibly linear and toroidal micelles. Rheological and dynamic light scattering experiments allowed to fully
characterize the linear viscoelasticity of the mixtures. These measurements revealed synergistic gains in viscoelastic properties
with a maximum of the stress-relaxation time around the equimolar composition. These effects are ascribed to a progressive
intermicellar crosslinking resulting from a continuous increase of the end-cap energy with the 12-2-12 content in the mixture.

The spontaneous break-up of thin films is commonly attributed to the destabilizing effect of van der Waals forces. Dispersion forces can be considered in terms of the confinement of the electromagnetic fluctuation spectrum. The principle of confinement is more general than the usual argument of interacting dipole fluctuations. It includes also disjoining pressures that are caused by thermal fluctuations. In this context, we review recent publications on the dewetting of thin polymer films, and argue that the presence of an acoustic disjoining pressure is necessary to adequately describe some of these experimental results.Received: 1 August 2003PACS:

In this paper, te edge mode variation is studied with three different methods: the reciprocal work method, already used by Torvik [J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 41 (1967) 346] to model this phenomenon, the S-parameter method and a finite element model that are applied for the first time to the study of the edge resonance. Moreover, laser probe measurements of the edge mode have also been performed and compared to the numerical predictions. The good agreement between the numerical predictions and the experimental data allows full understanding of the resonant phenomenon. The edge resonance is linked to the strong increase in amplitude of two complex Lamb waves, and the edge mode is proved to radiate into the plate as the first symmetrical Lamb mode S(0). Displacements at the edge and away from the edge have been computed and measured to evaluate the spatial and temporal behaviour of the edge mode. The dependence of the edge resonance frequency and amplitude on the Poisson coefficient has also been studied. 相似文献

We describe several homo- and heteronuclear 2D NMR strategies dedicated to the analysis of anisotropic (2)H spectra of a mixture of dideuterated unlike/like stereoisomers with two remote stereogenic centers, using weakly orienting chiral liquid crystals. To this end, we propose various 2D correlation experiments, denoted "D(H)(n)D" or "D(H)(n)C" (with n=1, 2), that involve two heteronuclear polarization transfers of INEPT-type with one or two proton relays. The analytical expressions of correlation signals for four pulse sequences reported here were calculated using the product-operators formalism for spin I=1 and S=1/2. The features and advantages of each scheme are presented and discussed. The efficiency of these 2D sequences is illustrated using various deuterated model molecules, dissolved in organic solutions of polypeptides made of poly-gamma-benzyl-L-glutamate (PBLG) or poly-epsilon-carbobenzyloxy-L-lysine (PCBLL) and NMR numerical simulations. 相似文献

The use of entropy minimization and spectral dissimilarity is applied to three nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) data sets. The data sets contain 2, 2, and 3 observables each. It was found that without any a priori information the sets of pure component spectra underlying the NMR spectroscopic observations could be extracted. These successful spectral resolutions suggest that a combined entropy minimization and spectral dissimilarity approach can be further developed for even larger NMR data sets containing a larger number of observables. Brief comparison to DECRA and PMF curve resolution results is also presented. 相似文献

We show that the angle-wavelength spectra of light filaments excited by ultrashort pulses experience a transition from X- to O-like structures when their carrier wavelengths are switched from normal to anomalous dispersion. Calculations confirm that the O-shaped conical emission follows the elliptic geometry of the nonlinear Schr?dinger equation with anomalous dispersion. 相似文献
