Phase—Locking in Coupled Chaotic Oscillators

The transition from the phase-unlocking state to the phase-locking state is found at the desynchronization of synchronous chaos of coupled oscillators.In the phase-locking case,the motions of all oscillators are chaotic and desynchronized,however spatial ordering is identified in their phase distribution.     

Nonlocality Property of Three—Mode Correlated Fields

Four three-mode correlated states are generated by two beam splitters.We show that,by means of parity measurement,those light fields exhibit the nonlocality represented by the violation of the Bell inequality.The conditions fo the maximum violation are also studied.     

A New Method for the Raman Spectra Calculation of Vitreous or Molten Silicate

A new method is deduced to calculated the Raman spectra of vitreous or molten silicate.This method includes five steps:(i) molecular dynamics simulation to generate thousands of vitreous or molten configurations in equilibrium;(ii)decomposing the configurations into five kinds of defined tetrahedral units;(iii) normal vibrational analysis with Wilson‘s GF matrix method for the eigenfrequencies and eigenvectors of each tetrahedral unit;(iV) Raman intensity calculations for each vibrational mode by utilizing the electro-optical parameter method and bond polarizability model;(v)accumulating the data of frequencies and corresponding intensities to form the prtial Raman spectral line of each defined tetrahedral unit and finally the envelope.

本文研究一类含参数的非线性积分方程的分叉问题,其中的积分算子的线性化算子在分叉值点处有二维零空间。利用Liapunov-Schmidt约化方法和基于系统的对称性的群论方法,得到了周期分叉解存在的充分条件。     

Numerical Study on Left-Handed Materials Made of Ferrite and Metallic Wires

Due to coupling effect, we show that it is difficult to realize the left-handed material by placing metallic wires directly into a ferrite matrix. However by introducing an insulating material round the metallic wires to decouple the direct interaction between the metallic wire and ferrite matrix, we have proposed two microstructures, which are shown by numerical simulation to have negative refractive indexes. The influence of microstructure on the transmission property is also examined.     

Theoretical Study of the Opacity for Mixture Materials at High Temperatures

Using a detailed configuration accounting model with term structures treated by the umresolved transition array model,we have extensively investigated the opacitiesof mixture materials.For plasmas at the temperature of 250 eV and density of 1 g/cm^3,our calculated Rosseland mean opacities are in good agreement with other theoretical results.A high increase in the Rosseland mean opacity to 2944cm^2/g is achieved for a multi-element mixture compared to the value of 1729cm^2/g for pure gold.Various mixtures at other plasma conditions are also studied.     

Monitoring the Aggregation of Dansyl Chloride in Acetone through Fluorescence Measurements

The aggregation of dansyl chloride (DNS-Cl) in acetone has been studied in detail by steady-state fluorescence techniques.It has been demonstrated that DNS-Cl is stable in acetone during purification and aggregation study processes.The aggregates are not solvolyzed in acetone,and do not take part n any chemical reactions either.It has been found that DNS-Cl tends to aggregate even when its concentration is much lower than its solubility in acetone.The aggregation is reversible,and both the aggregation and the deaggregation are very slow processes.Introduction of SDS has a positive effect upon the formation and stabilization of the aggregates.     

A Novel Contactless Method for Characterization of Semiconductors：Surface Electron Bean Induced Voltage in Scanning Electron Microscopy

We present a novel contactless and nondestructive method called the surface electron beam induced voltage (SEBIV) method for characterizing semiconductor materials and devices.The SEBIV method is based on the detection of the surface potential induced by electron beams of scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The core part of the SEBIV detection set-up is a circular metal detector placed above the sample surface.The capacitance between the circular detector and whole surface of the sample is estimated to be about 0.64pf.It is large enough for the detection of the induced surface potential.The irradiation mode of electron beam (e-beam) influences the signal generation When the e-beam irradiates on the surface of semiconductors continuously,a differential signal is obtained.The real distribution of surface potentials can be obtained when a pulsed e-beam with a fixed frequency is used for irradiation and a lock-in amplifier is employed for detection.The polarity of induced potential depends on the structure of potential barriers and surface states of samples.The contrast of SEBIV images in SEM changes with irradiation time and e-beam intensity.

In this paper a uniqueness theorem for a skewperiodic boundary value problem is obtained. By using the optimal control method, we derive the best estimate for the integration mean ensuring that the results hold.     

Can Quintessence Be the Rolling Tachyon？

In the light of the recent works by Sen(hep-th/o203211,hep-th/0203265,hep-th/0204143)and Gibbons(hepth/0204008),we present a phase-plane analysis on the cosmology containing a rolling tachyon field in a potential resulting from string theory.we show that there is no stable point on the phase-plane,which indicates that there is a coincidence problem if we consider the tachyon as a candidate for quintessence.Furthermore,we also analyse the phase-plane of the cosmology cotaining a rolling tachyon field for an exactly solvable toy potential in which the critical point is stable.Therefore,it is possible for the rolling tachyon to be a candidate for quintessence if we give up the strict constraint on the potential or find a more appropriate effective potential for the tachyon from M/String theory.
