The magnetic anisotropy and magnetization reversal of single crystal Fe films with thickness of 45 monolayer (ML) grown on Si(111) have been investigated by ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Owing to the significant modification of the energy surface in remanent state by slight misorientation from (111) plane and a uniaxial magnetic anisotropy, the azimuthal angular dependence of in-plane resonance field shows a six-fold symmetry with a weak uniaxial contribution, while the remanence of hysteresis loops displays a two-fold one. The competition between the first and second magnetocrystalline anisotropies may result in the switching of in-plane easy axis of the system. Combining the FMR and VSM measurements, the magnetization reversal mechanism has also been determined.  相似文献

The Jahn-Teller distortion plays an important role in determining the exchange interaction in rare-earth manganites.In this work we study the influence of the Jahn-Teller distortion on the magnetic structures of TbMn1-xFexO3(x = 0,0.02,0.05,0.10,and 0.20) single crystals in the basal MnO2 plane.The decrease in the quadruple splitting with the increasing Fe doping indicates the reduction of the Jahn-Teller distortion,which makes the nearest neighboring(NN) FM interaction dominant over the next nearest neighbor(NNN) AFM interaction.This alteration is favorable for the development of A-type AFM ordering instead of the spiral magnetic ordering,which collapses when x ≥ 0.05.The analysis of dielectric data indicates that the ferroelectricity is arising from the peculiar spiral magnetic ordering.  相似文献

In this paper, we report on the structural properties and superconductivity of Mg(B1-xCx)2 compounds. Powder X-ray diffraction results indicate that the samples crystallize in a hexagonal AlB2-type structure. Due to the chemical activity of Mg powders, a small amount of MgO impurity phase is detected by X-ray diffraction. The lattice parameters decrease slightly with the increasing carbon content. Magnetization measurements indicate that the non-stoichiometry of MgB2 has no influence on the superconducting transition temperature and the transition temperature width. The addition of carbon results in a decrease of Tc and an increase of the superconducting transition width, implying the loss of superconductivity.  相似文献

The effects of the substitution of Li for Mg in Mg1-xLixB2(x=0,0.1,0.2) on their structure and superconductivity have been investigated. It has been found by X-ray diffraction that the substitution of Li for Mg with x=0.1 and 0.2 does not cause phase transformation in these samples. However,the measurements of temperature-dependent normalized magnetization indicate the loss of superconductivity with the increase of Li content in these samples.  相似文献

Magnetoresistances and magnetic entropy changes in NaZn13-type compounds La(Fel-xCox)11.9Si1.1 (x=0.04, 0.06, and 0.08) with Curie temperatures of 243 K, 274 K, and 301 K, respectively, are studied. The ferromagnetic ordering is accompanied by a negative lattice expansion. Large magnetic entropy changes in a wide temperature range from ~230 K to ~320 K are achieved. Raising Co content increases the Curie temperature but weakens the magnetovolume effect, thereby causing a decrease in magnetic entropy change. These materials exhibit a metallic character below Tc, whereas the electrical resistance decreases abruptly and then recovers the metal-like behaviour above Tc. Application of a magnetic field retains the transitions via increasing the ferromagnetic ordering temperature. An isothermal increase in magnetic field leads to an increase in electrical resistance at temperatures near but above Tc, which is a consequence of the field-induced metamagnetic transition from a paramagnetic state to a ferromagnetic state.  相似文献

The magnetization switching plays an essential role in spintronic devices.In this study,a Pd(3 nm)/Co(0.14–1.68 nm)/Pd(5 nm) wedge film is deposited on an Mg O(111) substrate by molecular beam epitaxy.We investigate the polar magneto-optical Kerr effect(MOKE) and carry out the first-order reversal curve(FORC) measurements.For the wedge system,it is observed that the Co thickness could drive the spin reorientation transition(SRT) from out-of-plane to in-plane.Meanwhile,we find the different types of magnetization switchings in the continuous SRT process,which can originate from the formation of different magnetic compositions.Our work provides the possibility of tuning the interfacial effect,and paves the way to analyzing magnetization switching.  相似文献

The magneto-optical Kerr effect susceptometry technique is proposed to determine the uniaxial magnetic anisotropy (UMA) constant Ku. The magnetic properties of Cu/Fe/SiO2/Si grown by dc magnetron sputtering were investigated. The in-plane uniaxial magnetic anisotropy was probed by the magneto-optical Kerr effect (MOKE). The value of UMA, Ku = 2.5 x 103 J/m3, was simulated from the field dependence of ac susceptibility along the hard axis according to the Stoner-Wohlfarth (S-W) model, which is consistent with Ku = 2.7~ 103 J/m3 calculated from the magnetic hysteresis loops. Our results show that the magneto-optical Kerr effect susceptometry can be employed to determine the magnetic anisotropy constant owing to its high sensitivity.  相似文献

通过X光衍射,穆斯堡尔谱和输运性质的测量研究了掺杂Fe的Nd0.5Pb0.5-xSrxMnO3样品的结构和磁输运性质。x光衍射和穆斯堡尔谱都表明了样品随Sr的增多结构畸变减小。Sr的掺杂同时也降低了室温时的电阻率并使磁电阻增大。由于在样品中Mn3+ 与 Mn4+的比率是一样的,也就意味着具有相同的双交换作用。所以Sr对样品性质的改变可以认为是由于晶格畸变所产生的。由于Jahn-Teller 效应而产生的Mn(Fe)O6八面体的局域结构畸变可以局域电子。由我们的实验可以看到在居里温度Tc以上,除了双交换作用之外,Jahn-Teller 效应对于输运性质也起了重要作用。  相似文献

A planar Hall effect(PHE) is introduced to investigate the magnetization reversal process in single-crystalline iron film grown on a Si(001) substrate.Owing to the domain structure of iron film and the characteristics of PHE,the magnetization switches sharply in an angular range of the external field for two steps of 90° domain wall displacement and one step of 180°domain wall displacement near the easy axis,respectively.However,the magnetization reversal process near the hard axis is completed by only one step of 90° domain wall displacement and then rotates coherently.The magnetization reversal process mechanism near the hard axis seems to be a combination of coherent rotation and domain wall displacement.Furthermore,the domain wall pinning energy and uniaxial magnetic anisotropy energy can also be derived from the PHE measurement.  相似文献
