The interaction of intense femtosecond laser pulses with hydrogen clusters
has been experimentally studied. The hydrogen clusters were produced from
expansion of high-pressure hydrogen gas (backed up to 8\tm106Pa) into vacuum
through a conical nozzle cryogenically cooled by liquid nitrogen. The
average size of hydrogen clusters was estimated by Rayleigh scattering
measurement and the maximum proton energy of up to 4.2keV has been obtained
from the Coulomb explosion of hydrogen clusters under 2×1016 W/cm2 laser irradiation. Dependence of the maximum proton energy on cluster size and laser intensity was
investigated, indicating the correlation between the laser intensity and the
cluster size. The maximum proton energy is found to be directly proportional
to the laser intensity, which is consistent with the theoretical prediction. 相似文献

Surface-enhanced resonance Raman scattering (SERRS) of
Rhodamine 6G (R6G) adsorbed on colloidal silver clusters has been studied.
Based on the great enhancement of the Raman signal and the quench of the
fluorescence, the SERRS spectra of R6G were recorded for the samples of dye
colloidal solution with different concentrations. Spectral inhomogeneity
behaviours from single molecules in the dried sample films were observed with
complementary evidences, such as spectral polarization, spectral diffusion,
intensity fluctuation of vibrational lines and even ``breathing' of the
molecules. Sequential spectra observed from a liquid sample with an average of
0.3 dye molecules in the probed volume exhibited the expected Poisson
distribution for actually measuring 0, 1 or 2 molecules. Difference between
the SERRS spectra of R6G excited by linearly and circularly polarized light

A Fourier analysis method is used to accurately determine not
only the absolute phase but also the temporal-pulse phase of an
isolated few-cycle (chirped) laser pulse. This method is
independent of the pulse shape and can fully characterize the
light wave even though only a few samples per optical cycle are
available. It paves the way for investigating the absolute
phase-dependent extreme nonlinear optics, and the evolutions of
the absolute phase and the temporal-pulse phase of few-cycle

We have studied theoretically constructive interference via collision-aided radiative excitation in an open four-level system using a density matrix approach. The four-level system consists of a Λ-type three-level quantum-beat configuration driven by one laser field and a fourth level coupled by a vacuum mode. It is shown that through the incoherent process (collision), coherence between widely-separated doublets and subsequent constructive interference can be realized. We analyse the effects of the collision-induced coherent and incoherent decay rates, laser intensity, and energy separation of the doublets on the interference. Meanwhile, the constructive interference between the two transition pathways 3P1/2-4D and 3P3/2-4D via equal-frequency hybrid excitation and collision-aided radiative excitation in an Na2-Na system is experimentally observed. By using the dispersion theory instead of the Fröhlich Hamiltonian, the polaron energy in a quantum dot with a parabolic confinement potential is investigated at finite temperatures. It is found that the self-trapping energy of the polaron decreases with the increasing temperature, and the temperature effect is more obvious in quantum dots with weaker confinement. 相似文献

In this paper,we study theoretically and experimentally the coherent control of non-resonant two-photon transition in a molecular system (Perylene dissolved in chloroform solution) by shaping the femtosecond pulses with simple phase patterns (cosinusoidal and π phase step-function shape).The control efficiency of the two-photon transition probability is correlated with both the laser field and the molecular absorption bandwidth.Our results demonstrate that,the two-photon transition probability in a molecular system can be reduced but not completely eliminated by manipulating the laser field,and the control efficiency is minimal when the molecular absorption bandwidth is larger than twice the laser spectral bandwidth. 相似文献

实验研究了正色散固体介质中的激光脉冲自压缩现象,证明了无需任何外加色散补偿情况下,固体透明介质中的自聚焦传输过程可使高功率飞秒激光脉冲实现时域脉冲压缩,并详细研究了输出脉冲的时域和频域特性随入射脉冲强度的演化规律.实验结果表明脉冲自压缩量随入射脉冲强度的增加呈递增趋势,然而当入射光强增大到足以引起超连续谱及锥形辐射产生时,脉冲时域形状会发生分裂.此外还发现发散光束入射情况下同样可以观察到脉冲自压缩现象.
