Abstract

A combined procedure to detect of 15N/14N isotope ratios by emission spectrometric analysis after starch gel-electrophoresis was developed. 15N-labelled proteins of human serum were used to optimise this method. Electrophorised gel slices with protein fractions were directly digested for subsequent isotope analysis. This method is proposed for use in routine analysis for clinical application.  相似文献

The magnetic anisotropy energy (MAE) of 3d transition-metal wires, stripes, and films is calculated self-consistently as a function of stripe width and film thickness. The magnetization-reorientation transitions in stripes are determined along the crossover from the mono-atomic one-dimensional chain to the two-dimensional monolayer. It is shown that the MAE oscillates as a function of stripe width and depends strongly on the considered transition metal. The reorientation transitions in Co films deposited on a highly polarizable substrate such as Pd are discussed. A local analysis of the layer-resolved MAEs provides new insights into the off-plane magnetization observed in Pd-capped Co films on Pd(111). The interfaces responsible for the stability of the off-plane easy axis are characterized microscopically. An unexpected internal magnetic structure of the Co–Pd interfaces is revealed in which the magnetic moments and spin–orbit interactions at Pd atoms play a crucial role. The nature of the reorientation transition from perpendicular to in-plane magnetization with increasing film thickness is studied by means of full-vectorial calculations. The existence of a spin-canted phase at intermediate film thickness is demonstrated.  相似文献

The asymmetrically substituted BODIPY dyes 9a and 9b have been synthesized through a key redox step involving the alpha-nitroso derivative of the starting pyrrol. Both dyes emit fluorescence with quantum yields of ca. 0.7, but only 8b behaves as a good laser dye, with an efficiency of 48% in ethanol solution.  相似文献

Laser performance of pyrromethene 567 (PM567) dye dissolved in pure poly(methyl methacrylate) homopolymer and its copolymers with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate, 1-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone, 2-phenoxyethyl acrylate, and 2,2,2-trifluoromethyl methacrylate has been investigated. The chosen monomers were selected to mimic solvents used in a previous study on the photophysical and lasing properties of PM567 in liquid solution in order to establish correlations between the lasing properties of PM567 in liquid and solid solutions. The vol/vol proportion of the different comonomers in each copolymer formulation was systematically varied, and the effect of each composition on the lasing properties of PM567 was evaluated. The laser samples were transversely pumped at 534 nm with 5.5-mJ pulses from a frequency-doubled Q-switched Nd:KGW laser. Lasing efficiencies of up to 30% and good photostabilities, with a drop of the initial laser output of 20% after 10000 pump pulses in some of the solid samples, were demonstrated. The photoreduction behavior of p-nitroaniline (pNA) in the presence of N,N-dimethylaniline (DMA) induced by both steady-state (365 nm) and laser (337 nm) irradiation has been analyzed. The stoichiometry of the photoreduction reaction revealed that several amino radicals derived from DMA were generated by each photoreduced pNA molecule. The polymerization kinetics of the lauryl acrylate monomer (LA) photoinitiated by the pNA/DMA system has been studied by differential scanning photocalorimetry (Photo-DSC). The rate of polymerization was found to be proportional to the square root of both the incident light and the coinitiator DMA concentration. The order of the polymerization reaction with respect to monomer and initiator concentration was determined, as well as the polymerization behavior under aerobic conditions. The polymerization efficiency of this photoinitiated system was much higher than that obtained with conventional aromatic ketone photoinitiators. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. We show that isomorphism of intermediate rings between row and column finite matrix rings and row finite matrix rings implies Morita equivalence of the coefficient rings and equality of the cardinality of the set of indices. Among the applications we extend the Isomorphism Theorem for Dual Pairs over Division Rings to Ornstein dual pairs over any class of rings for which Morita equivalence implies isomorphism.  相似文献

Wide-line 1H NMR measurements were extended and all results were interpreted in a thermodynamics-based new approach on aqueous solutions of thymosin-β4 (Tβ4), stabilin cytoplasmic domain (CTD), and their 1 : 1 complex. Energy distributions of potential barriers controlling the motion of protein-bound water molecules were determined. Heterogeneous and homogeneous regions were found in the protein-water interface. The measure of heterogeneity of this interface gives quantitative value for the portion of disordered parts in the protein. Ordered structural elements were found extending up to ∼20 % of the individual whole proteins. About 40 % of the binding sites of free Tβ4 get involved in bonds holding the complex together. The complex has the most heterogeneous solvent accessible surface (SAS) in terms of protein-water interactions. The complex is more disordered than Tβ4 or stabilin CTD. The greater SAS area of the complex is interpreted as a clear sign of its open structure.  相似文献
