We have studied the lateral stability of planar reaction-diffusion fronts in an autocatalytic reaction between aqueous ions in an externally imposed electric field. In our experiments, migration drives the pattern formation leading to cellular structures where the sufficiently greater migrational flux of the reactant with respect to that of the autocatalyst is the driving force. The difference in electric field strength between the two sides of the thin reaction front results from the significant increase in conductivity during the reaction. The results of the theoretical analysis based on the empirical rate-law model of the reaction reproduce the behavior observed experimentally.  相似文献

The application of a chiral ligand‐exchange column for the direct high‐performance liquid chromatographic enantioseparation of unusual β‐amino acids with a sodium N‐((R)‐2‐hydroxy‐1‐phenylethyl)‐N‐undecylaminoacetate‐Cu(II) complex as chiral selector is reported. The investigated amino acids were isoxazoline‐fused 2‐aminocyclopentanecarboxylic acid analogs. The chromatographic conditions were varied to achieve optimal separation. The effects of temperature were studied at constant mobile phase compositions in the temperature range 5–45°C, and thermodynamic parameters were calculated from plots of lnk or lnα versus 1/T. Δ(ΔH°) ranged from –2.3 to 2.2 kJ/mol, Δ(ΔS°) from –3.0 to 7.8 J mol?1 K?1 and –Δ(ΔG°) from 0.1 to 1.7 kJ/mol, and both enthalpy‐ and entropy‐controlled enantioseparations were observed. The latter was advantageous with regard to the shorter retention and greater selectivity at high temperature. Some mechanistic aspects of the chiral recognition process are discussed with respect to the structures of the analytes. The sequence of elution of the enantiomers was determined in all cases.  相似文献

Molecularly imprinted polymers bind their target compounds at binding sites. The binding sites are typically based on some type of functional group, such as carboxyl group. The total amount of such functional groups and their distribution into available and unavailable groups is not well known. The total binding capacity is usually indirectly determined from adsorption isotherms, which are measured much below the theoretical binding capacity. This work shows that in a variety of differently prepared, methacrylic acid based molecularly imprinted and nonimprinted polymers, all carboxylic groups used for the polymer synthesis are retained in the polymer, 80–90% of them can be accessed by strong bases and essentially the same amount can be used for adsorption of weak bases. This high level of adsorption can only be achieved, however, if the adsorbed weak base is strong enough, if the polymer is sufficiently elastic and if the solvent does not compete too strongly for the binding sites. These results may explain why the maximum binding capacities obtained from isotherm measurements are usually not equal to the total amount of available binding sites. This study confirms the usefulness of nonimprinted polymers at high loadings.  相似文献

Coffee is both a vastly consumed beverage and a chemically complex matrix. For a long time, an arduous chemical analysis was necessary to resolve coffee authentication issues. Despite their demonstrated efficacy, such techniques tend to rely on reference methods or resort to elaborate extraction steps. Near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and the aquaphotomics approach, on the other hand, reportedly offer a rapid, reliable, and holistic compositional overview of varying analytes but with little focus on low concentration mixtures of Robusta-to-Arabica coffee. Our study aimed for a comparative assessment of ground coffee adulteration using NIRS and liquid coffee adulteration using the aquaphotomics approach. The aim was to demonstrate the potential of monitoring ground and liquid coffee quality as they are commercially the most available coffee forms. Chemometrics spectra analysis proved capable of distinguishing between the studied samples and efficiently estimating the added Robusta concentrations. An accuracy of 100% was obtained for the varietal discrimination of pure Arabica and Robusta, both in ground and liquid form. Robusta-to-Arabica ratio was predicted with R2CV values of 0.99 and 0.9 in ground and liquid form respectively. Aquagrams results accentuated the peculiarities of the two coffee varieties and their respective blends by designating different water conformations depending on the coffee variety and assigning a particular water absorption spectral pattern (WASP) depending on the blending ratio. Marked spectral features attributed to high hydrogen bonded water characterized Arabica-rich coffee, while those with the higher Robusta content showed an abundance of free water structures. Collectively, the obtained results ascertain the adequacy of NIRS and aquaphotomics as promising alternative tools for the authentication of liquid coffee that can correlate the water-related fingerprint to the Robusta-to-Arabica ratio.  相似文献

The stereoisomers of 1,2,3,4‐tetrahydroisoquinoline amino alcohol analogues and derivatives thereof were separated in normal‐phase mode on chiral stationary phases based on preprepared silica coated with cellulose tris‐(3,5‐dimethylphenyl carbamate), cellulose tris‐(3‐chloro‐4‐methylphenyl carbamate), cellulose tris‐(4‐methylbenzoate) or cellulose tris‐(4‐chloro‐3‐methylphenyl carbamate). On all the investigated chiral columns, the retention and the enantioseparation were influenced by the nature and the concentrations of the mobile phase components and additives, and also the temperature. Experiments were performed in the temperature range 10–50°C. Thermodynamic parameters were calculated from plots of lnα vs 1/T. On these polysaccharide‐based chiral columns, both enthalpy‐driven separations and entropy‐controlled enantioseparations were observed. The latter was advantageous with regard to the shorter retention and greater selectivity at high temperature. The sequence of elution of the stereoisomers was determined in all cases. Bismuth subnitrate is reported herein as a simple and efficient catalyst for the atom-economical synthesis of methyl ketones via Markovnikov-type alkyne hydration. Besides an effective batch process under reasonably mild conditions, a chemically intensified continuous flow protocol was also developed in a packed-bed system. The applicability of the methodologies was demonstrated through hydration of a diverse set of terminal acetylenes. By simply switching the reaction medium from methanol to methanol-d4, valuable trideuteromethyl ketones were also prepared. Due to the ready availability and nontoxicity of the heterogeneous catalyst, which eliminated the need for any special additives and/or harmful reagents, the presented processes display significant advances in terms of practicality and sustainability.  相似文献

Silver nanoparticles were prepared in aqueous AgNO3 solution by using hydroquinone and sodium citrate as reducing agents with neutral polymers poly(vinylpyrrolidone) and poly(vinyl alcohol) as stabilizers. The rate of particle formation was determined with a diode array UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The effects of the polymer concentration on the reaction rate, the size, and the size distribution of the particles formed were studied by transmission electron microscopy. Both the reaction rate and the size of silver nanoparticles decreased with increasing polymer concentration in the range 0.07–0.50 w/v%.  相似文献

Celiac disease and wheat allergy are the most common adverse reactions triggered by cereal proteins, mainly gluten, which is one of the 14 allergenic food ingredients that must be labeled on food products in the European Union (EU). To meet the requirements of this regulation, reliable analytical methodology for proper quantification of gluten is necessary. However, validation of presently used methods (ELISA and lateral flow device) is limited partly due to the lack of reference methods and incurred reference materials. To solve this problem, the goal of our work was to develop an incurred reference material for the quantification of gluten under the auspices of EU-FP6 funded Network of Excellence MoniQA. During this work, we produced a processed model product (cookie) containing gliadin (major allergenic fraction of gluten) in a defined amount. This paper addresses the development process of this material together with the associated problems (insufficient homogeneity and low recovery) and their solutions. As a result, an incurred food matrix was produced on a laboratory-scale with a potential use as a reference material. The model product was tested by an ELISA method followed by a comparative study of commercially available ELISA kits to investigate the applicability of the product. Preliminary results of this study are also presented.  相似文献

Autoregressive conditional heteroscedastic (ARCH) processes and their extensions known as generalized ARCH (GARCH) processes are widely accepted for modelling financial time series, in particular stochastic volatility processes. The off-line estimation of ARCH and GARCH processes have been analyzed under a variety of conditions in the literature. The main contribution of this paper is a rigorous convergence analysis of a recursive estimation method for GARCH processes with restricted stability margin under reasonable technical conditions. The main tool in the convergence analysis is an appropriate modification of the theory of recursive estimation within a Markovian framework developed in Benveniste et al. (Adaptive Algorithms and Stochastic Approximations. Springer, Berlin, 1990). The basic elements of this theory will also be summarized. The viability of the method will be demonstrated by experimental results both for simulated and real data.  相似文献
