Investigation is made for nonlinear interaction between incident radiation and a surface wave in a magnetized plasma layer. Both interacting waves are ofP polarization. We get the generated currents and fields at combination frequencies analytically. Unlike theS-polarized interacting waves, the magnetic field affects the fundamental waves and leads to an amplification of generated waves when their frequencies approach the cyclotron frequency.  相似文献

The reaction of the pentadentate Schiff-base ligand 1,3-bis(salicylideneamino)-2-propanol (salproH3) with [Mn3O(O2CR)6(py)3] (R = Me, Et, But) gives the corresponding tetranuclear manganese product [Mn4O2O2CR)5(salpro)] (4Mn(III)). The syntheses, structure and magnetochemical characterization of these complexes are reported. The structure of the [Mn4(mu3-O)2]8+ is butterfly-like much more closed than in previous complexes with this core as a result of the alkoxide oxygen of the salpro ligand bridging the two wingtip Mn atoms. Variable-temperature, solid-state magnetic susceptibility studies reveal that these complexes possess S = 0 ground state spins. Fitting of the magnetic susceptibility data to the theoretical chiMT vs. T expression derived for a C2v symmetry complex, assuming an isotropic Heisenberg spin-Hamiltonian and using the Van Vleck equation, revealed that the various exchange parameters are all antiferromagnetic, and the core thus experiences spin frustration effects.  相似文献

We investigate the influence of isotopic substitution and solvation of N-methylacetamide (NMA) on anharmonic vibrational coupling and vibrational relaxation of the amide I and amide II modes. Differences in the anharmonic potential of isotopic derivatives of NMA in D2O and DMSO-d6 are quantified by extraction of the anharmonic parameters and the transition dipole moment angles from cross-peaks in the two-dimensional infrared (2D-IR) spectra. To interpret the effects of isotopic substitution and solvent interaction on the anharmonic potential, density functional theory and potential energy distribution calculations are performed. It is shown that the origin of anharmonic variation arises from differing local mode contributions to the normal modes of the NMA isotopologues, particularly in amide II. The time domain manifestation of the coupling is the coherent exchange of excitation between amide modes seen as the quantum beats in femtosecond pump-probes. The biphasic behavior of population relaxation of the pump-probe and 2D-IR experiments can be understood by the rapid exchange of strongly coupled modes within the peptide backbone, followed by picosecond dissipation into weakly coupled modes of the bath.  相似文献

For engineering systems, the dynamic state estimates provide valuable information for the detection and prediction of failure due to noise and vibration. From this perspective, nonlinear filtering techniques are applied to the problem of state estimation of dynamical systems undergoing noisy limit cycle oscillation. Specifically, the extended Kalman filter, ensemble Kalman filter and particle filter are used to track the limit cycle oscillations of a Duffing oscillator using noisy observational data. The noisy limit cycle oscillations feature highly non-Gaussian trends. The efficiency and limitations of the extended Kalman filter, ensemble Kalman filter and particle filter in tracking limit cycle oscillations are examined with respect to the model and measurement noise and sparsity of measurement data. For the limit cycle oscillations considered here, it is demonstrated that the ensemble Kalman filter and particle filter outperform the extended Kalman filter in the presence of sparse observational data or strong measurement noise. For moderate measurement noise and frequent measurement data, the ensemble Kalman filter and particle filter perform equally well in comparison to the extended Kalman filter.  相似文献

We introduce a nonlinear perturbation technique to third order, to study the stability between two cylindrical inviscid fluids, subjected to an axial electric field. The study takes into account the relaxation of electrical charges at the interface between the two fluids. At first order, a linear dispersion relation is obtained. Analytical and numerical results for the overstability and incipient instability conditions are given. For perfect dielectric fluids, the electric field has a stabilizing influence, while for leaky dielectric fluids, the electric field can have either a stabilizing or a destabilizing influence depending on the conductivity and permittivity ratios of the two fluids. At higher order, a nonlinear dispersion relation (nonlinear Ginzburg–Landau equation) is derived, describing the evolution of wave packets of the problem. For leaky dielectric fluids near the marginal state, a nonlinear diffusion equation (nonlinear incipient instability) is obtained. For perfect dielectric fluids, two cubic nonlinear Schrödinger equations are obtained. One of these equations to determine a nonlinear cutoff electric field separating stable and unstable disturbance, whereas the other is used to analyze the stability of the system. It is found that the nonlinear stability criterion depending on the ratio of permittivity, Such effects can only be explained successfully in the nonlinear sense, as the linear analysis unsuccessful to inform about them.  相似文献

Microstructure defects play a very important role in the swelling of irradiated stainless steel. This work is a parametric study of the effects of microstructural defects on the swelling of ion-irradiated steel. For simplicity, vacancy loop effects were neglected. Cold working was found to play a complicated role in the swelling behavior. On one hand, it increase the bias to interstitial absorption due to the increase in dislocation density. On the other hand, it decreases the total flux of point defects to voids by the decrease of the point defect concentrations. Grain size has also a strong effect on swelling. It was found that large gain sizes produces higher swelling and vise versa, i.e. the larger the surface of grain boundaries the less the irradiation-produced swelling. Similar effects were found for precipitates.  相似文献
