N,N′‐diethoxy‐4,4′‐azobis(pyridinium) hexafluorophosphate (DEAP) has been synthesized by alkylation of the corresponding N‐oxide and characterized. DEAP exhibits UV induced cis–trans isomerization with absorptions at around λ = 459 and 360 nm, respectively. The ability of the DEAP ion to act as a photoinitiator for the cationic polymerization of cyclohexene oxide and N‐vinylcarbazole is demonstrated. The initiation step involves the decay of the excited state of the trans form of the salt with homolytic bond rupture of the nitrogen–oxygen bond. Its potential use as a photoinitiator for free radical polymerization is also demonstrated using methyl methacrylate monomer as the example.

In this work, a self‐healing strategy for poly(propylene oxide)s bearing coumarine‐benzoxazine units (PPO‐CouBenz)s based on light induced coumarine dimerization reactions is described. Four different types of poly(propylene oxide) amines with molecular weights ranging from 440 to 5000 Da were reacted with formaldehyde and 4‐methyl‐7‐hydroxycoumarin to yield desired (PPO‐CouBenz)s. The crosslinked polymer films were prepared by solvent casting of various compositions of PPO‐CouBenzs in chloroform followed by thermal ring opening reaction of benzoxazine groups at 210–240 °C. Thermal curing and thermal stability of the initial PPOs and final products were investigated. Using allyl benzoxazine in the formulation, it was demonstrated that the toughness of the films was improved. Naringenin‐based Schiff base ligands with 4‐aminobenzoic hydrazide were obtained as a unilateral form ( L1 ). The ligand was oligomerized by oxidative polycondensation reaction with NaOCl as an oxidant in an aqueous alkaline medium at 90 °C to form a functional oligomer ( L2 ), and its transition metal complexes such as those with Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) were prepared. The monomer and the oligomeric compounds were characterized using various techniques. Optical and electrical properties of the complexes were also investigated. All compounds showed indirect band gaps and they can be accepted as being in the semiconductor class. Organic–inorganic hybrid devices were obtained using n‐Si inorganic semiconductor and the complexes. The characteristic parameters of the devices were determined using current–voltage (I–V) and capacitance–voltage measurements in the dark. The African weaver ant, Oecophylla longinoda, is used as a biological control agent for the management of pests. The ant has several exocrine glands in the abdomen, including Dufour’s, poison, rectal, and sternal glands, which are associated with pheromone secretions for intra-specific communication. Previous studies have analyzed the gland secretions of Dufour’s and poison glands. The chemistry of the rectal and sternal glands is unknown. We re-analyzed the secretions from Dufour’s and poison glands plus the rectal and sternal glands to compare their chemistries and identify additional components. We used the solid-phase microextraction (SPME) technique to collect gland headspace volatiles and solvent extraction for the secretions. Coupled gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis detected a total of 78 components, of which 62 were being reported for the first time. These additional components included 32 hydrocarbons, 12 carboxylic acids, 5 aldehydes, 3 alcohols, 2 ketones, 4 terpenes, 3 sterols, and 1 benzenoid. The chemistry of Dufour’s and poison glands showed a strong overlap and was distinct from that of the rectal and sternal glands. The different gland mixtures may contribute to the different physiological and behavioral functions in this ant species.  相似文献

A new series of 1,2,4‐triazole was designed, synthesized, and characterized as remarkable antimicrobial and antioxidant agents. These heterocycles have been prepared from the cyclization reactions of Schiff bases 3 ( a‐k ) with phenylhydrazine by refluxing under the alkaline medium. The Schiff bases in turn were realized in good yields from the condensation reactions of N‐phenylurea with different aromatic aldehydes. The structures of the intermediates 3 ( a‐k ) and final heterocycles 4 ( a‐k ) have been fully characterized through their spectral parameters.  相似文献

In this work, firstly methylene blue (MB) was electropolymerized onto pencil graphite electrode (PGE) surface for the electrocatalytic oxidation of NADH. Cyclic voltammograms show that oxidation potential of NADH at Poly-MB/PGE shifted to negative direction about 300 mV compared with bare PGE. These results indicate that Poly-MB/PGE exhibits a good electrocatalytic activity toward NADH oxidation. Then, a glucose biosensor study was performed based on the determination of enzymatically generated NADH by glucose dehydrogenase (GDH) which immobilized onto Poly-MB/PGE using glutaraldehyde cross-linking procedure. The biosensing of glucose in flow injection analysis (FIA) system was performed at GDH/Poly-MB/PGE for the first time. The electrocatalytic oxidation currents of enzymatically produced NADH obtained from FI amperometric current–time curves recorded at + 200 mV and in phosphate buffer solution at pH 7.0 containing 1.0 M KCl were linearly related to the concentration of glucose. Linear calibration plots are obtained in the concentration range from 0.01 to 1.0 mM. The limit of detection (LOD) was found to be 4.0 µM. A fast, sensitive, low-cost and disposable glucose biosensor was constructed in FIA system using GDH/Poly-MB/PGE; therefore, it might provide a new perspective for the fabrication of biosensor of other compounds such as glutamate, lactate and alcohol.  相似文献

Salvadora persica is virtuous to have a variety of phytoconstituents responsible for many biological activities some of them identified particularly while some are still to be acknowledged. A number of steroidal, glycosidic, terpenoids, saponins and functional esters are reported till date. The present study deals with extraction, isolation, and characterisation of four novel steroidal esters by systematic cold extraction of S. persica. The extracted phytoconstituents were characterised by sophisticated spectral UV, IR, NMR and MS, techniques. The reported four new β-Sitosteryl esters SP-2, 3, 5 and 6 were extracted and reported for the first time.  相似文献
