Effect of glass bead packing on the fibrillation of liquid‐crystalline polymer in polycarbonate

Polycarbonate (PC) was melt blended with small amount of liquid‐crystalline polymer (LCP) and various contents of glass beads (GB) having different diameters. The rheological measurements indicated that the GB addition increased the viscosity ratio and seemed unfavorable to the LCP fibrillation. However, the morphological observation showed that the LCP fibrillation was promoted by the GB addition and varied with the GB packing. With the increased GB packing by increasing the GB content and/or decreasing the GB diameter, LCP deformed from spheres and ellipsoids into stretched ellipsoids at lower shear rates and into long fibrils at higher shear rates. Although higher content of smaller GB jammed into the larger LCP droplets and inhibited the LCP fibrillation, very long LCP fibrils formed at higher shear rates at a high enough packing of GB. The relationship between GB packing and LCP fibrillation revealed two kinds of hydrodynamic effects of GB promoting the LCP fibrillation: at lower GB packing, the shear flow was enhanced by the high local shear between GB, in quantity; and for a high enough GB packing, the shear flow was changed, in quality, into elongational flow, which was more effective for the LCP fibrillation. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Positive Steady States of a Prey-predator Model with Diffusion and Non-monotone Conversion Rate

In this paper, we study the positive steady states of a prey-predator model with diffusion throughout and a non-monotone conversion rate under the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. We obtain some results of the existence and non-existence of positive steady states. The stability and uniqueness of positive steady states are also discussed.     

α-Fe_2O_3纳米微粒/硬脂酸交替L-B膜的结构表征

纳米微粒(NP)是一个新的物质层次,它具有一系列新异的物理、化学特性,涉及到大块样品中所忽略的,或根本不具有的基本物理、化学问题.用NP 制造新型的人工功能材料具有广泛的潜在应用.一个有意义的挑战是能否对NP 进行有序的组装.Zhao andFendler 等曾利用Fe_3O_4NP 进行有序组装的尝试.我们也在前期的初步研究中利用Langmuir-Blodgett(LB)技术对7nm 的α-Fe_2O_3 NP 进行了有序组装的探索,获得了α-Fe_2O_3 NP-硬脂酸交替LB 多层膜(FNSLF).然而这种交替膜的有序情况还不十分清楚.     

仲态电子偶素湮没辐射能量的改进测量

用充氧气的气凝硅胶作仲态电子偶素源,用¹⁹²Ir精密γ能量作标准,以时间选择能谱仪和滑动比较法改进测量仲态电子偶素2γ湮没能量,得到hv=510995.34±0.69eV.经电子偶素结合能修正,得正、负电子对静止质量,与电子质量比较,表明正、负电子质量在1.4ppm内一致.     

测试温度对nc-Si∶H膜光致发光特性的影响

利用常规等离子体化学气相沉积（ＰＥＣＶＤ）工艺制备了ｎｃ－Ｓｉ∶Ｈ膜，并对其光致发光（ＰＬ）特性从１０～２５０Ｋ温度范围内进行了变温测量．实验结果指出，随着测试温度升高，ＰＬ峰值能量发生了５４ｍｅＶ的红移，ＰＬ强度在Ｔ＞８０Ｋ后呈指数下降趋势．ＰＬ峰值能量的红移起因于带隙的收缩，而ＰＬ强度的减弱则是由于非辐射复合起了主导作用．     

激光二极管泵浦的高重复频率Nd：YAG激光器

报道两个１．５Ｗ连续激光二极管端面泵浦的声光调ＱＮｄ：ＹＡＧ激光器，输出激光脉冲的最高重复频率为３０ｋＨｚ重复频率１ｋＨｚ时，最窄脉宽为１２ｎｓ，最高峰值功率为１２．１ｋＷ。     

Interaction of gravitational waves with a superconducting cylindrical antenna

In this paper we investigate the effects of gravitational waves (GW) on a superconducting cylindrical antenna (S-antenna). We suggest that the electric fields induced by GW of dimensionless amplitudeh - 10^–24 in the interior of existing cylindrical antenna might be detectable.     

On the factor-thickness of regular graphs

For eachr-regular graphG, define a binary sequence(G) = ( ₁, ₂,..., _r-1) by _k = 0 ifG has ak-factor, and _k = 1 otherwise. A binary sequence = ( _i |i = 1, 2,...,r – 1) is said to be realizable if there exists anr-regular graphG such that(G) = . In this paper we characterize all binary sequences which are realizable.
