Effects of an AlN passivation layer on the microstructure and electronic properties of AlGaN/GaN heterostructures were investigated
by X-ray diffraction and Hall effect measurements. AlN passivation induced an additional compressive stress in an AlGaN barrier
layer instead of an additional tensile stress induced by Si3N4 passivation. The change of strain after passivation contributes in a relatively small proportion to the variation of the
carrier concentration in AlGaN/GaN heterostructures compared with the contribution from passivation of surface traps. The
results from Hall effect measurements show that the AlN passivation layer has a better effect on passivation of deep levels
than the Si3N4 film and also results in a remarkable increase in mobility of the two-dimensional electron gas.

In this paper, we studied efficient second-harmonic generation (SHG) of femtosecond pulses in both phase- and group-velocity-matched structures. Obtained results show that phase matching becomes more critical under conditions required for high levels of conversion efficiency. And the imperfect phase mismatch caused by mismatched group-velocity dispersion (GVD) will limit conversion efficiency as well as bandwidth of generated second-harmonic (SH) pulses. The spectral characteristics of the generated SH pulses and its conversion efficiency in the strong pump regime are investigated in detail. The acceptance bandwidth of nonlinear crystal in the high-efficiency SHG is redefined in the paper, and the definition is much closer to the practical application of design. 相似文献

I discuss the experiments of Joseph Weber (1919-2000) of the University of Maryland between
1960 and 1973 that were aimed at the detection of gravity waves. He used throughout a quadratic
detector to demodulate his antenna signal, which I analyze and compare to a linear detector.The
latter was used by all of the other groups that entered the field. Of these, Richard Garwin and I at
IBM were one of the first groups to publish, and I discuss in detail our experiments between 1973
and 1975. I then discuss the experiments that were carried out at Bell Labs-Rochester, Glasgow,
Munich-Frascati,Moscow, and Tokyo. I compare the results, all of which were negative, with Webers
claimed detection of large numbers of gravity-wave events, as many as seven per day. I conclude
that these were not in fact gravity waves, but artifacts of his extremely hands-on data-analysis procedures,

Mutual mass diffusion and thermal diffusion has been investigated in poly(dimethylsiloxane)/ poly(ethylmethylsiloxane) (PDMS/PEMS) polymer blends of equal weight fractions. Molar masses ranged from below 1 to over 20 kg/mol. Both the mutual mass (D) and the thermal diffusion (DT) coefficient contain a thermally activated factor with an activation temperature of 1415 K. The molar mass dependence of DT is due to an end-group effect of the local friction coefficient. The thermal diffusion coefficient in the limit of long chains and infinite temperature is DT0, = - 1.69×10-7cm2(sK)-1. The Soret coefficient ST of blends far enough away from a critical point is proportional to the static structure factor S(q = 0). 相似文献

Doubly differential electron velocity spectra induced by 36Ar18 + (95 MeV/u) from thin target foils (C, Ni, Ag, Au) were measured at GANIL (Caen, France) by means of the ARGOS multidetector and the time-of-flight technique. The main features observed in the forward spectra are convoy electrons, binary-encounter electrons, and (for the Au target only) a high-velocity tail which we attribute to a Fermi shuttle acceleration mechanism. Backward spectra do not show distinct structures. The spectra allow us to determine absolute singly differential cross-sections as a function of the target material and the emission angle. The convoy electron yield increases with the target atomic number, but for C their yield is so small that our experiment is not able to detect them. Absolute doubly differential cross-sections for binary-encounter electron ejection from C targets are well described by a transport theory which is based on the relativistic electron impact approximation (EIA) for electron production and which accounts for angular deflection, energy loss and energy straggling of the transmitted electrons.Received: 1 July 2003, Revised: 15 December 2003, Published online: 13 July 2004PACS:

We apply the perturbative chiral quark model at one loop to analyze the electromagnetic form factors of the baryon octet. The analytic expressions for baryon form factors, which are given in terms of fundamental parameters of low-energy pion-nucleon physics (weak pion decay constant, axial nucleon coupling, strong pion-nucleon form factor), and the numerical results for baryon magnetic moments, charge and magnetic radii are presented. We demonstrate the interplay between the intensity noise and the spatial emission characteristics of resonant-cavity light-emitting diodes. First, we find that the total aperture intensity noise exhibits a sub-shot noise behavior in a quite large pumping regime. Second, we investigate the angular, spectral, and spatial emission characteristics of the devices by controlling the shape and width of the angular intensity distribution via temperature detuning of the quantum well wavelength and the cavity resonance wavelength. Finally, the angular and aperture resolved intensity noise exhibit a super-shot noise behavior in contrast to that of the total emission. We explain this difference with anticorrelations between various radial components which increase with the temperature-tuned extension of the spatial emission. PACS 85.60.Jb; 42.50.L; 23.20.En 相似文献
