Itosides A – I,New Phenolic Glycosides from Itoa orientalis

Eight new benzoylated gentisyl alcohol (=2‐(hydroxymethyl)benzene‐1,4‐diol) glucosides, itosides A–H ( 1 – 8 ), together with the new pyrocatechol (=benzene‐1,2‐diol) glycoside itoside I ( 9 ) were isolated from the bark and twigs of Itoa orientalis (Flacourtiaceae). In itosides B–D ( 2 – 4 ), the gentisyl alcohol moiety was esterified by 1‐hydroxy‐6‐oxocyclohex‐2‐ene‐1‐carboxylic acid, while itosides E–H ( 5 – 8 ) contained instead an additional 2‐hydroxybenzoic acid moiety. The compounds were accompanied by the known derivatives 4‐hydroxytremulacin ( 10 ), poliothyrsoside ( 11 ), poliothyrsin ( 12 ), homaloside D ( 13 ), tremulacin, and pyrocatechol β‐D ‐glucopyranoside. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by spectral and chemical methods.     

Kinetic determination of organic vapor mixtures with single piezoelectric quartz crystal sensor using artificial neural networks

A single piezoelectric quartz crystal coated with one kind of crown ether was applied to the simultaneous determination of binary acid and amine vapor mixtures. From the adsorption and desorption curves of analytes, which were somewhat different in shape, frequency shifts from ten time windows were taken as inputs for artificial neural networks (ANN). Prediction results were satisfactory for ANN in both sample sets. The average relative errors, for formic acid and acrylic acid were 5%, for n-butylamine and aniline, they were 3% with ANN respectively. The effects of number of neurons in the hidden layer of ANN on the performance of the network are also discussed.     

DIRECT DETERMINATION OF NEODYMIUM AND ERBIUM IN RARE EARTH MIXTURE BY DERIVATIVE SPECTROPHOTOMETRY

The absorption spectra of 4f electron transitions of the complexes of neodymium and erbium with 8-hydroxyquinoline-5-sulphonic acid in the presence of diethylamine and ethanol have been measured by normal and third-derivative spectrophotometry. Their molar absorptivities are 70.7 l.mol~(-1).cm~(-1) for Nd and 62.5 l.mol~(-1).cm~(-1) for Er. They are 7.6 times and 14.9 times greater than those of corresponding chlorides, respectively. Use of the third-derivative spectra both eliminates the interference of Ce(Ⅳ) and increases the sensitivity for Nd and Er. Beer,s Law was obeyed from 0-10 ug/ml of Nd and Er. The method has been applied to the determination of neodymium and erbium in rare earth mixtures.

Rate constants for the reactions of a series of alkylperoxy radicals with NO

The rate constants for the gas-phase reactions of isopropyl- and tert-butylperoxy radicals with nitric oxide (NO) have been studied at 298 +/- 2 K and a total pressure of 3-4 Torr (He buffer) using a laser flash photolysis technique coupled with a time-resolved negative-ionization mass spectrometry. The alkyl peroxy radicals were generated by the reaction of alkyl radicals with excess O(2), where alkyl radicals were prepared by laser photolysis of several precursor molecules. The rate constants were determined to be k(i-C(3)H(7)O(2) + NO) = (8.0 +/- 1.5) x 10(-12) and k(t-C(4)H(9)O(2) + NO) = (8.6 +/- 1.4) x 10(-12) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1). The results in combination with our previous studies are discussed in terms of the systematic reactivity of alkyl peroxy radicals toward NO.     

Highly Regioselective Sequential 1,1‐Dihydrosilylation of Terminal Aliphatic Alkynes with Primary Silanes

A regioselective double 1,1‐hydrosilylation of terminal aliphatic alkynes with primary silanes catalyzed by one cobalt catalyst has been developed. gem‐Bis(dihydrosilyl)alkanes containing four silicon‐hydrogen bonds are efficiently constructed in an atom‐economical manner. Tolerated substrates include simplest alkyne‐ethyne, a complicated drug derivative and various functionalized terminal aliphatic alkynes. Asymmetric approach using two catalysts is achieved with excellent enantioselectivities to access corresponding chiral products. The transformations of Si—H bonds into Si—C, Si—O, and Si—F bonds and the synthesis of enantioriched α‐hydroxysilane show synthetic utility.     

A New Synthetic Route to 12-Oxo-1, 15-pentadecanlactam

12-Oxo-1,15-pentadecanlactam 7 was synthesized from cyclododecanone with a totalyield of 36% in a seven-step reaction. The azide 5 to 12-nitro-1,15-pentadecanlactam 6 is the key step featured by direct ring expansion.     

一类新型的双β-氨基醇的合成及催化硼烷对芳酮的不对称还原反应

以L-半胱氨酸盐酸盐出发，经与二卤代烷偶联，成酯和格氏反应制得三种双手性β-氨基醇，1,2-双[R-2-氨基-3-羟基-3,3-二苯基丙硫基]乙烷(4a)，1,3-双[R-2-氨基-3-羟基-3,3-二苯基丙硫基]丙烷(4b)，1,4-双[R-2-氨基-3-羟基-3,3-二苯基丙硫基]丁烷(4c)。将此类双手性β-氨基醇与硼烷在THF溶液中反应，in situ制备双手性恶唑硼烷催化硼烷对芳酮的不对称还原，产物苯乙醇的光学收率达72.8%、α-溴代苯乙醇的光学收率达91.4%。     

乙醇和甲苯组成的最低共沸混合物热力学性质的研究

The molar heat capacity of the azeotropic mixture composed of ethanol and toluene was measured by a high precision adiabatic calorimeter from 80 to 320 K. The glass transition and phase transitions of the azeotropic mixture were determined based on the heat capacity measurements. A glass transition at 103.350 K was found. A solid-solid phase transition at 127.282 K, two solid-liquid phase transitions at 153.612 and 160.584 K were observed, which correspond to the transition of metastable crystal to stable crystal of ethanol and the melting of ethanol and toluene, respectively. The thermodynamic functions and the excess ones of the mixture relative to the standard temperature 298.15 K were derived based on the relationships of the thermodynamic functions and the function of the measured heat capacity with respect to temperature.     

Quantitative Determination of Oxalic Acid Using Victoria Blue B Based on a Catalytic Kinetic Spectrophotometric Method

A sensitive catalytic method is developed for the spectrophotometric determination of oxalic acid. The procedure is based on the effect of oxalate on the oxidation of Victoria blue B by dichromate in dilute sulfuric acid medium. The reaction is quantitatively estimated by measuring the decrease in absorbance of Victoria blue B at the maximum wavelength of 610nm after quenching the reaction with tap water. The factors effecting the sensitivity and reproducibility of the reaction were studied. The method is not interfered with by foreign species generally associated with oxalate and oxalic acid. The described method is simple, specific, inexpensive and suitable for oxalic acid concentrations of between 0.06 and 9.0µgmL^–1. It was validated with satisfactory results by determining oxalic acid content in water extracts from plant materials such as spinach and Lathyrus sativus.
