New Type High Efficient Quasi-Solid-State Ionic Liquid Electrolyte for Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells

For the fist time the preparation of a mostly solid-state high efficiem electro-conductive material comprising 1-methyl-3-propylimidazolium iodide （MPII）, benzimidazole （BI）, iodine and lithium iodide was reported. In this electrolyte, BI acts as not only additives but also gelators. With its significant electrochemical properties, an overall efficiency of 3.07% was achieved under AM 1.5 （100 mW/cm^2）.     

Electrical conduction nature and phase transition in CaTi1−x FexO3−δ (x = 0.1–0.5)

Transport numbers for oxygen ions and protons are measured by an emf method in the system CaTi_1?x Fe_xO_3?δ (x = 0.1–0.5) in the oxidizing and reducing atmospheres in the temperature interval 973–1173 K. It is shown that the compounds under study are mixed ion-electron conductors at small iron concentrations and electron conductors, at large iron contents. The proton conductivity in the compounds is very poor and does not exceed 0.5% in air. On the basis of the temperature dependences of transport numbers for ions and linear expansion, it is established that the CaTi_0.9Fe_0.1O_3?δ system has a phase transition of a second order in a reducing environment at 1020–1050 K. The total and partial electron conductivities of CaTi_0.9Fe_0.1O_3?δ are studied as a function of the partial pressure of oxygen at 1173 K. The nature of electroconduction in CaTi_1?x Fe_xO_3?δ is discussed.     

Indium-mediated Facile Synthesis of （6-Chloropyridine-3-yl）methyl Heterocyclic Thioether Derivatives in Aqueous Media

A series of substituted (6-chloropyridine-3-yl)methyl heterocyclic thioether derivatives were prepared by indium mediating in water. The preliminary biological tests showed that compound 3d exhibited good antiviral activity.

The Action of the Selenomorpholine Compounds on Escherichia coli Growth by Microcalorimetry

The action of three kinds of the selenomorpholine compounds on a strain ofEscherichia coli was studied by microcalorimetry. Differences in their capacities to affect the metabolism of this bacterium were observed. The extent and duration of the effect on the metabolism as judged from the rate constant (k) of Escherichia coli (in log phase) varied with the different drugs. The kinetics show that selenomorpholine compounds had an effect on the metabolism process of Escherichia coli. The k of Escherichia coli in the presence of the drugs increased with the increasing concentrations of the drugs (C) at low concentration; but at high concentration, the rate constant decreased with the increasing concentrations of the drugs. The experimental results reveal that the sequence of antibiotic activity of selenomorpholines is: N-selenomorpholinemethyl succinimide and its hydrochloride>N-(α-selenomorpholinebenzyl) succinimide. Quantitative study on La~(3+) influx mediated by sodium-calcium exchanger in human lymphocytes

Whether La3+ can enter human peripheral blood lymphocytes by the Na+/Ca2+ exchanger or not and the effect of La3+on the Na+/Ca2+ exchanger activity are examined by fura-2 technique. And that whether La3+ is sequestered by intracellular organelles (mainly endoplasmic reticulum and mitochondria) is studied by this method. La3+uptake is obviously stimulated by pre-treating the cells with ouabain and by removing extracellular Na+, and intracellular La3+concentration ([La3+]i) is directly proportional to its extracellular concentration ([La3+]o). But when [La3+]o exceeds 0.4 mmol/L, the 340/380 nm ratio of fluorescence is no longer varied and the maximum [La3+], is 1.5×10-12 mol · L-1. The higher concentration of La3+ (0.1 mmol/L) increases Na+/Ca2+ exchange-mediated calcium influx, but lower concentration (10 μmol/L) appears to block calcium influx. The results also suggest that cytosolic La3+ is transported by the ATP-dependent Ca2+ pump. Intracellular Ca2+ stores are depleted by ionomycin, and then ion     

Formation of thin carbon films containing metal nanoparticles by thermolysis of a polymer precursor

A new procedure was developed for preparing carbon films with magnetic metal nanoparticles by thermolysis of a polymer precursor. The conditions for preparing carbon films with required surface concentration of the metal nanoparticles and hence with dielectric or metallic properties were determined.     

Quantum-chemical study of degradation during stretching of small-molecule analogs of cis-and trans-polyisoprene segments by their end atoms

A change in the electronic structure and the influence of force on the deformation of molecules of cis-and trans-3-methylhex-3-ene under their stretching by application of a harmonic potential to the end carbon atoms was studied via the semiempirical quantum-chemical method PM3. The maximum force at which the molecule breaks was estimated; it was shown that this value is slightly dependent on the double bond configuration. With the use of molecular dynamics simulation, it was revealed that the local temperature of a molecule can rise to 1000 K during the degradation process.
