We propose in this paper an in-depth study of a method, both experimental and theoretical, for the determination of thermoelectric properties, in single, or multi-layered thermoelectric devices. We use a modulated laser beam as a heater in order to generate a thermally induced Seebeck EMF. The laser beam, line shaped, can be focused at any location along the sample surface, allowing spatially resolved measurements. Seebeck EMF measurements, associated with a versatile modeling method based on the thermal quadrupoles, allow determining sample Seebeck EMF profile. This article contributes to the growing study on the interactions between science and technology with China’s evidence in
the field of nanotechnology, based on the database of United States Patent and Trademark Office. The analysis is focused during
the period of 1991–2008, a rapid increasing period for the development of nanotechnology. Using the non-patent references
cited by patents, we first investigate the science–technology connections in the context of Chinese nanotechnology, especially
in institutional sectors and its application fields. Those patents, produced by academic researchers and directed towards
basic scientific knowledge, generally cite more scientific references with a higher proportion of self-citations. It is interesting
to find that patents contributed by collaborations between public organizations and corporations seldom contain scientific
references. Following an interesting path on matching the data of publications and patents, we establish the author-inventor
links in this emerging field. Author-inventors, who are co-active in publishing and patenting, are at the very top of the
most prolific and highly cited researchers. Finally, we employ social network analysis to explore the characteristics of scientific
and technological networks generated by co-authorship and co-invention data, to investigate the position and the role of patenting–publishing

Finite time stability is investigated for continuous system which satisfies uniqueness of solutions in forward time. A necessary and sufficient condition for finite time stability is given for this class of systems using Lyapunov functions. Langmuir monolayers have been extensively investigated by various experimental techniques. These studies allowed an in-depth understanding of the molecular conformation in the layer, phase transitions, and the structure of the multilayer. As the monolayer is compressed and the surface pressure is increased beyond a critical value, usually occurring in the minimal closely packed molecular area, the monolayer fractures and/or folds, forming multilayers in a process referred to as collapse. Various mechanisms for monolayer collapse and the resulting reorganization of the film have been proposed, and only a few studies have demonstrated the formation of a bilayer after collapse and with the use of a Ca(2+) solution. In this work, Langmuir isotherms coupled with imaging ellipsometry and polarization modulation infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy were recorded to investigate the air-water interface properties of Langmuir films of anionic nucleolipids. We report for these new molecules the formation of a quasi-hexagonal packing of bilayer domains at a low compression rate, a singular behavior for lipids at the air-water interface that has not yet been documented. 相似文献
