This paper presents a magnetic force microscopy study of antiferromagnetic ordering along chains of dipole-coupled single-domain permalloy nanomagnets with a variety of shapes. Magnetization reversal processes occur due to antiferromagnetic coupling between the closely spaced dots when an appropriate external magnetic field is applied. The goal of this study was to investigate the switching properties and correlation lengths as a function of nanomagnet geometry. We have found that certain shapes (due to their stronger stray fields) clearly show stronger interaction than others when the chain is demagnetized. In addition we have seen that the performance of the nanomagnets also depends on the method of demagnetization, and this fact must be taken into account when shape engineering is used to design coupled nanomagnet systems for a given application. 相似文献

Molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP)-based synthetic receptors integrated with Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) sensing platform were applied for the first time for label-free protein detection. The ultrathin polymeric films with surface imprints of immunoglobulin G (IgG-MIP) were fabricated onto the multiplexed SAW chips using an electrosynthesis approach. The films were characterized by analyzing the binding kinetics recorded by SAW system. It was revealed that the capability of IgG-MIP to specifically recognize the target protein was greatly influenced by the polymer film thickness that could be easily optimized by the amount of the electrical charge consumed during the electrodeposition. The thickness-optimized IgG-MIPs demonstrated imprinting factors towards IgG in the range of 2.8–4, while their recognition efficiencies were about 4 and 10 times lower toward the interfering proteins, IgA and HSA, respectively. Additionally, IgG-MIP preserved its capability to recognize selectively the template after up to four regeneration cycles. The presented approach of the facile integration of the protein-MIP sensing layer with SAW technology allowed observing the real-time binding events of the target protein at relevant sensitivity levels and can be potentially suitable for cost effective fabrication of a biosensor for analysis of biological samples in multiplexed manner. 相似文献

A series of isostructural Ln3O2(CN3) (Ln=La, Eu, Gd, Tb, Ho, Yb) oxoguanidinates was synthesized under high-pressure (25–54 GPa) high-temperature (2000–3000 K) conditions in laser-heated diamond anvil cells. The crystal structure of this novel class of compounds was determined via synchrotron single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) as well as corroborated by X-ray absorption near edge structure (XANES) measurements and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. The Ln3O2(CN3) solids are composed of the hitherto unknown CN35− guanidinate anion—deprotonated guanidine. Changes in unit cell volumes and compressibility of Ln3O2(CN3) (Ln=La, Eu, Gd, Tb, Ho, Yb) compounds are found to be dictated by the lanthanide contraction phenomenon. Decompression experiments show that Ln3O2(CN3) compounds are recoverable to ambient conditions. The stabilization of the CN35− guanidinate anion at ambient conditions provides new opportunities in inorganic and organic synthetic chemistry. 相似文献

In this research, we studied the factors that control formation of GMO/tricaprylin/water hexosomes and affect their inner structure. As a stabilizer of the soft particles dispersed in the aqueous phase, we used the hydrophilic nonionic triblock polymer Pluronic 127. We demonstrate how properties of the hexosomes, such as size, structure, and stability, can be tuned by their internal composition, polymer concentration, and processing conditions. The morphology and inner structure of the hexosomes were characterized by small-angle X-ray scattering, cryo-transmission electron microscope, and dynamic light scattering. The physical stability (to creaming, aggregation, and coalescence) of the hexosomes was further examined by the LUMiFuge technique. Two competing processes are presumed to take place during the formation of hexosomes: penetration of water from the continuous phase during dispersion, resulting in enhanced hydration of the head groups, and incorporation of the polymer chains into the hexosome structure while providing a stabilizing surface coating for the dispersed particles. Hydration is an essential stage in lyotropic liquid crystal (LLC) formation. The polymer, on the other hand, dehydrates the lipid heads, thereby introducing disorder into the LLC and reducing the domain size. Yet, a critical minimum polymer concentration is necessary in order to form stable nanosized hexosomes. These competing effects require the attention of those preparing hexosomes. The competition between these two processes can be controlled. At relatively high polymer concentrations (1-1.6 wt % of the total formulation of the soft particles), the hydration process seems to occur more rapidly than polymer adsorption. As a result, smaller and more stable soft particles with high symmetry were formed. On the other hand, when the polymer concentration is fixed at lower levels (<1.0 wt %), the homogenization process encourages only partial polymer adsorption during the dispersion process. This adsorption is insufficient; hence, maximum hydration of the surfactant head group is reached prior to obtaining full adsorption, resulting in the formation of less ordered hexosomes of larger size and lower stability. 相似文献

We propose an immediately realizable scheme showing signatures of multipartite entanglement generated by radiation pressure in a cavity system with a movable mirror. We show how the entanglement involving the inaccessible massive object is unraveled by means of field-field quantum correlations and persists within a wide range of working conditions. In the present study we characterized the microstructures of the Lc and HII phases in a glycerol monooleate (GMO)/tricaprylin (TAG)/water mixture as a function of temperature. We studied the factors that govern the formation of a low-viscosity HII phase at relatively elevated temperatures (>35 degrees C). This phase has very valuable physical characteristics and properties. The techniques used were differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), wide- and small-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS and SAXS, respectively), NMR (self-diffusion and (2)H NMR), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopies. The reverse hexagonal phase exhibited relatively rapid flow of water in the inner channels within the densely packed cylindrical aggregates of GMO with TAG molecules located in the interstices. The existence of two water diffusion peaks reflects the existence of both mobile water and hydration water at the GMO-water interface (hydrogen exchange between the GMO hydroxyls and water molecules). Above 35 degrees C, the sample became fluid yet hexagonal symmetry was maintained. The fluidity of the HII phase is explained by a significant reduction in the domain size and also perhaps cylinder length. This phenomenon was characterized by higher mobility of the GMO, lower mobility of the water, and a significant dehydration process. 相似文献

We show how stationary entanglement between an optical cavity field mode and a macroscopic vibrating mirror can be generated by means of radiation pressure. We also show how the generated optomechanical entanglement can be quantified, and we suggest an experimental readout scheme to fully characterize the entangled state. Surprisingly, such optomechanical entanglement is shown to persist for environment temperatures above 20 K using state-of-the-art experimental parameters. 相似文献
