Highly‐ordered Fe‐doped TiO2 nanotubes (TiO2nts) were fabricated by anodization of co‐sputtered Ti–Fe thin films in a glycerol electrolyte containing NH4F. The as‐sputtered Ti–Fe thin films correspond to a solid solution of Ti and Fe according to X‐ray diffraction. The Fe‐doped TiO2nts were studied in terms of composition, morphology and structure. The characterization included scanning electron microscopy, energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction, UV/Vis spectroscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy and Mott–Schottky analysis. As a result of the Fe doping, an indirect bandgap of 3.0 eV was estimated using Tauc’s plot, and this substantial red‐shift extends its photoresponse to visible light. From the Mott–Schottky analysis, the flat‐band potential (Efb) and the charge carrier concentration (ND) were determined to be ?0.95 V vs Ag/AgCl and 5.0 ×1019 cm?3 respectively for the Fe‐doped TiO2nts, whilst for the undoped TiO2nts, Efb of ?0.85 V vs Ag/AgCl and ND of 6.5×1019 cm?3 were obtained. 相似文献

A general asymmetric hydrogenation of a wide range of 2-alkyl- and 2-aryl-substituted quinoxaline derivatives catalyzed by an iridium-difluorphos complex has been developed. Under mild reaction conditions, the corresponding biologically relevant 2-substituted-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoxaline units were obtained in high yields and good to excellent enantioselectivities up to 95%. With a catalyst ratio of S/C = 1000 and on a gram scale, the catalytic activity of the Ir-difluorphos complex was maintained showing its potential value. Finally, we demonstrated the application of our process in the synthesis of compound (S)-9, which is an inhibitor of cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP). 相似文献

In order to improve the efficiency of Raman Amplifiers, the Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) effect of an amorphous matrix of TiO2 was studied. First, optimisation of the amorphous layer quality was performed by depositing thin films on glass substrates at different temperatures. Then, thin films of amorphous TiO2 were deposited on silicon commercial gold SERS substrates (Klarite®) by a dip-coating process. The SERS effect was demonstrated by the great difference of Raman intensities of the amorphous TiO2 matrix dip-coated on active and inactive parts of Klarite® substrate under 633 nm and 780 nm laser excitations in the tail of the Surface Plasmon Resonance band of gold nanoparticles. 相似文献

A new method for the analysis of particulate matter in lungs is proposed. It combines the exhaled breath condensate technique and Raman spectroscopy. The sampling method is noninvasive, which is suitable for the detection of occupational exposure to dust. The chemical composition of dust particles is assessed by Raman microspectroscopy. The first enantioselective cycloisomerization with intramolecular halogen migration of various 1,6-enynes promoted by a cationic Rh-Synphos catalyst is reported. This method provides an efficient route to enantiomerically enriched γ-butyrolactam derivatives, which are important core scaffolds found in numerous natural products and biologically active molecules. Novel sunscreens are required providing active protection in the UVA and UVB regions. On the other hand, there is an increasing concern about the photosafety of UV filters, as some of them are not sufficiently photostable. Avobenzone is one of the most frequently employed sunscreen ingredients, but it has been reported to partially decompose after irradiation. In the present work, photophysical and photochemical studies on a methylated avobenzone-derivative have shown that the diketo form is responsible for photodegradation. A transient absorption was observed at 380 nm after laser flash photolysis excitation at 308 nm. It was assigned to the triplet excited state of the diketo form, as inferred from quenching by oxygen and β-carotene. This transient also interacted with key building blocks of biomolecules by triplet–triplet energy transfer (in the case of thymidine) or electron transfer processes (for 2'-deoxyguanosine, tryptophan and tyrosine). Irradiation of the avobenzone derivative in the presence of a triazine UV-B filter (E-35852) diminished the undesirable effects of the compound by an efficient quenching of the triplet excited state. Thus, sunscreen formulations including triplet quenchers could provide effective protection from the potential phototoxic and photoallergic effects derived from poor photostability of avobenzone. 相似文献

Combinatorial drug therapies emerge among the most promising strategies to treat complex pathologies such as cancer and severe infections. Biocompatible nanoparticles of mesoporous iron carboxylate metal–organic framework (nanoMOFs) are used here to address the challenging aspects related to the coincorporation of two antibiotics. Amoxicillin and potassium clavulanate, a typical example of drugs used in tandem, are efficiently coincorporated with payloads up to 36 wt%. Due to the occurrence of two distinct pore sizes/apertures within the MOF architecture, each drug is able to infiltrate the porous framework and localize within separate compartments. Molecular simulations predict drug loadings and locations consistent with experimental findings. Drug loaded nanoMOFs that are internalized by Staphylococcus aureus infected macrophages are able to colocalize with the pathogen, which in turn leads to an alleviation of bacterial infection. The data also reveal potential antibacterial properties of nanoMOFs alone as well as their ability to deliver a high payload of drugs to fight intracellular bacteria. These results pave the way toward the design of engineered “all‐in‐one” nanocarriers in which both the loaded drugs and their carrier play a role in fighting intracellular infections. 相似文献

The classic Kozeny–Carman equation (KC) uses parameters that are empirically based or not readily measureable for predicting the permeability of unfractured porous media. Numerous published KC modifications share this disadvantage, which potentially limits the range of conditions under which the equations are applicable. It is not straightforward to formulate non-empirical general approaches due to the challenges of representing complex pore and fracture networks. Fractal-based expressions are increasingly popular in this regard, but have not yet been applied accurately and without empirical constants to estimating rock permeability. This study introduces a general non-empirical analytical KC-type expression for predicting matrix and fracture permeability during single-phase flow. It uses fractal methods to characterize geometric factors such as pore connectivity, non-uniform grain or crystal size distribution, pore arrangement, and fracture distribution in relation to pore distribution. Advances include (i) modification of the fractal approach used by Yu and coworkers for industrial applications to formulate KC-type expressions that are consistent with pore size observations on rocks. (ii) Consideration of cross-flow between pores that adhere to a fractal size distribution. (iii) Extension of the classic KC equation to fractured media absent empirical constants, a particular contribution of the study. Predictions based on the novel expression correspond well to measured matrix and fracture permeability data from natural sandstone and carbonate rocks, although the currently available dataset for fractures is sparse. Solid-phase microextraction (SPME) is a convenient and efficient sampling technique recently applied to indoor air analysis.
We propose here a theoretical model of the adsorption kinetics of toluene on SPME fibre under static extraction conditions.
We discuss the effects of sampling volume and initial concentration of analyte on the adsorption kinetics. This model is used
to estimate the limits of detection taking into account operating conditions and to calculate theoretical calibration curves.
Results of comparison with experimental data are encouraging: only 11% difference for calibration curves and 30% for the estimation
of the limit of detection. On the basis of this kinetics model, the solid concentration gradient in the Carboxen coating was
modelled with Fick’s second law of diffusion in unsteady-state mass-transfer mode. Mass diffusion from the gas sample to the
SPME fibre was also investigated. It was shown that diffusion is the limiting step of the mass-transfer process in the static
mode. Thus, the model developed, allows a better understanding of adsorption on Carboxen fibre and in the future could be
a useful tool for cheap and time-saving development of SPME methods and the estimation of sampling performance.

In this post-genomic era, new techniques are needed to cope with the task of assigning functional roles to the huge number of identified putative gene products. We have developed a minimalist labelling strategy based on the use of synthetic fluorogenic probe reagents that fluoresce only after their reaction with a target peptide sequence. The probe reagents have fluorescent cores and bear two maleimide groups, such that their latent fluorescence is quenched by a photoinduced electron transfer (PET) to the pendant maleimide groups, until both of these groups undergo a specific thiol addition reaction. The efficiency of the fluorescence quenching is critical to the practicality of this labelling method, and has been predicted to be related to the intramolecular distance between the fluorophore and the maleimide groups. We have conducted the first direct test of this hypothesis by preparing a series of novel fluorogens that differ only by the spacer moiety separating their coumarin fluorophore and their dimaleimide fragment. A striking correlation was observed between intramolecular distance and the fluorescence enhancement (FE) observed after reaction with two equivalents of thiol. Guided by this observation, we then designed 'spacerless' fluorogens, of which a dansyl derivative shows an FE ratio of >300, the largest recorded for dimaleimide fluorogens. The trends observed herein provide valuable lessons for subsequent fluorogen design, and the novel fluorogens developed in the course of this study are currently being applied to protein labelling applications. 相似文献
