A well-resolved large eddy simulation (LES) of a large-eddy break-up (LEBU) device in a spatially evolving turbulent boundary layer is performed with, Reynolds number, based on free-stream velocity and momentum-loss thickness, of R e θ ≈ 4300. The implementation of the LEBU is via an immersed boundary method. The LEBU is positioned at a wall-normal distance of 0.8 δ (δ denoting the local boundary layer thickness at the location of the LEBU) from the wall. The LEBU acts to delay the growth of the turbulent boundary layer and produces global skin friction reduction beyond 180δ downstream of the LEBU, with a peak local skin friction reduction of approximately 12 %. However, no net drag reduction is found when accounting for the device drag of the LEBU in accordance with the towing tank experiments by Sahlin et al. (Phys. Fluids 31, 2814, 1988). Further investigation is performed on the interactions of high and low momentum bulges with the LEBU and the corresponding output is analysed, showing a ‘break-up’ of these large momentum bulges downstream of the LEBU. In addition, results from the spanwise energy spectra show consistent reduction in energy at spanwise length scales for \(\lambda _{z}^{+} > 1000\) independent of streamwise and wall-normal location when compared to the corresponding turbulent boundary layer without LEBU.  相似文献

Crystal structure of the title compound C22H19N3O is determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction (sp. gr. P21/c, Z = 4). The molecule as a whole, is not planar: phenyl cycles are rotated relative to the plane of pyrazole ring. N?H···N intramolecular hydrogen bond forms five-membered ring fused to pyrazole ring. There are also intramolecular C?H···O and C?H···π interactions. Intermolecular C?H···O hydrogen bond links the molecules into a C(7) chain along the a axis. The crystal structure is stabilized also by C–H···π and π···π intermolecular hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

Four new Schiff base ligands carrying naphthalene groups were prepared from the reaction of 2,4-diamino-6-methyl-1,3,5-triazine and 2,4-diamino-6-undecyl-1,3,5-triazine with 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde. The influence of a series of metal ions including Cu2+, Co2+, Hg2+, Al3+, Cr3+, Fe3+, Pb2+, Ni2+, Cd2+, Zn2+, Mn2+, Ag+, Ba2+, Ca2+ and Mg2+ on the spectroscopic properties of the ligands was investigated by means of absorption and emission spectrometry. The results of spectrophotometric and spectrofluorimetric titrations disclosed the complexation stoichiometry and complex stability constant of the ligands with metal ions. A simple spectrofluorimetric method was developed using the Schiff base derived from 2,4-diamino-6-undecyl-1,3,5-triazine to determine Hg2+ ion. No cleanup or enrichment of the tap water sample was required. A modified standard addition method was used to eliminate matrix effect. The standard addition graph was linear between 0.2 and 2.6 mg/L in determination of Hg2+. Detection and quantification limits were 0.08 and 0.23 mg/L, respectively. The simple and cost-effective method can be applied to water samples.  相似文献

Condensing of a sugar–water solution is a widely used production process, especially in food industry. In this study, boiling temperature and heat transfer of different concentration levels of sugar/water solution is experimentally studied. In the experiment, the pool boiling with constant temperature difference between surface and boiling temperature is investigated. Boiling point of sugar/water solution depends on sugar mass concentration and on vapor phase pressure. A function is suggested to calculation the boiling temperature. The experimental data and the calculated values of boiling temperature are compared. The results are verified with previous investigations. It is determined that the heat flux between surface and sugar/water solution while pool boiling displays a linear relation with water mass concentration in the solution. Heat transfer coefficient could be determined in dependency of surface temperature and sugar mass concentration. Furthermore a function is suggested to predict the heat flux for engineering purpose, which is already used in similar form for pure substances.  相似文献

We consider the component testing problem of a device that is designed to perform a mission consisting of a sequence of stages. Once a stage is over, the device is overhauled to replace all failed components before the next stage starts to improve mission reliability. The components fail exponentially where the failure rate depends on the stage of the mission. The reliability structure of the device involves a series connection of redundant subsystems. The optimal component testing problem is formulated as a semi-infinite linear programme. We present an algorithmic procedure to compute optimal test times based on the column generation technique, and illustrate it with numerical results.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce the Euler sequence space e r (p) of nonabsolute type and prove that the spaces e r (p) and l(p) are linearly isomorphic. Besides this, we compute the α-, β- and γ-duals of the space e r (p). The results proved herein are analogous to those in [ALTAY, B.—BASŠAR, F.: On the paranormed Riesz sequence spaces of non-absolute type, Southeast Asian Bull. Math. 26 (2002), 701–715] for the Riesz sequence space r q (p). Finally, we define a modular on the Euler sequence space e r (p) and consider it equipped with the Luxemburg norm. We give some relationships between the modular and Luxemburg norm on this space and show that the space e r (p) has property (H) but it is not rotund (R).  相似文献

In this study, we work on the traveling salesperson problems and bottleneck traveling salesperson problems that have special matrix structures and lead to polynomially solvable cases. We extend the problems to multiple objectives and investigate the properties of the nondominated points. We develop a pseudo-polynomial time algorithm to find a nondominated point for any number of objectives. Finally, we propose an approach to generate all nondominated points for the biobjective case.  相似文献

Single-molecule assays often require functionalized surfaces. One approach for microtubule assays renders surfaces hydrophobic and uses amphiphilic blocking agents. However, the optimal hydrophobicity is unclear, protocols take long, produce toxic waste, and are susceptible to failure. Our method uses plasma activation with hydrocarbons for hexamethyldisilazane (HMDS) silanization in the gas phase. We measured the surface hydrophobicity, its effect on how well microtubule filaments were bound to the surface, and the number of nonspecific interactions with kinesin motor proteins. Additionally, we tested and discuss the use of different silanes and activation methods. We found that even weakly hydrophobic surfaces were optimal. Our environmentally friendly method significanty reduced the overall preparation effort and resulted in reproducible, high-quality surfaces with low variability. We expect the method to be applicable to a wide range of other single-molecule assays.  相似文献

The classI f β, βε(0, ∞], off-divergences investigated in this paper is defined in terms of a class of entropies introduced by Arimoto (1971,Information and Control,19, 181–194). It contains the squared Hellinger distance (for β=1/2), the sumI(Q 1‖(Q 1+Q 2)/2)+I(Q 2‖(Q 1+Q 2)/2) of Kullback-Leibler divergences (for β=1) and half of the variation distance (for β=∞) and continuously extends the class of squared perimeter-type distances introduced by Österreicher (1996,Kybernetika,32, 389–393) (for βε (1, ∞]). It is shown that\((I_{f_\beta } (Q_1 ,Q_2 ))^{\min (\beta ,1/2)}\) are distances of probability distributionsQ 1,Q 2 for β ε (0, ∞). The applicability of\(I_{f_\beta }\)-divergences in statistics is also considered. In particular, it is shown that the\(I_{f_\beta }\)-projections of appropriate empirical distributions to regular families define distribution estimates which are in the case of an i.i.d. sample of size'n consistent.
