146Ce核的八级形变带和准γ带

通过测量²⁵²Cf自发裂变所产生的瞬发γ射线, 对¹⁴⁶Ce核的高自旋结构进行了重新研究, 结果更新了以前报道的能级纲图, 把八级形变集体带扩展到更高的自旋, 并且重新构建了可能的准γ带结构. 此外, 用反射不对称壳模型(RASM)对¹⁴⁶Ce核的八级形变带进行了计算, 低自旋处的计算结果与实验数据符合得很好.     

Radiochemistry in chemistry and chemistry related undergraduate programmes in Argentina

Summary The evolution of education in Argentina at the university level is described. The detailed search of the educational offer shows that less than half of the universities (35 out of 92) include chemistry and chemistry related undergraduate programmes in their curriculum. The revision of the position of radiochemistry in these programmes reveals that only seven courses on radiochemistry are currently offered. Radiochemistry is included only in few programmes in chemistry and biochemistry. With respect to the programmes in chemical engineering the situation is worse. This offer is strongly concentrated in Buenos Aires and its surroundings.     

Quadrupole interactions at 57Fe and 119Sn in 3d-metal antimonides

3d-metal antimonides: Fe_1+x Sb, N_+x Sb, Co_+x Sb and the (Ni_1?y Fe _y )Sb solid solution have been studied by the Mössbauer effect method at ⁵⁷Fe and ¹¹⁹Sn. It was found that the quadrupole interactions at the Fe and Sn nucleus in 3d-metal antimonides are very sensitive to the filling of different crystallographic sites with metal atoms. The metal atoms in trigonal-bipyramidal sites have a strong effect on the quadrupole splitting of ¹¹⁹Sn. They are nearest to anions (Sb or Sn) with the typical axial ratio of c/a = 1.25. The QS(x) dependence of ¹¹⁹ Sn in 3d-metal antimonides in the 0 ≤ x ≤ 0.1 concentration range can be used to determine x – the concentration of transition metal excess relative to the stoichiometric composition.     

Influence of the counterion size on swelling and collapse of polyelectrolyte gel

A theory that predicts the effect of the counterion size on the swelling and collapse of a weakly charged polyelectrolyte gel was developed. In addition to excluded-volume interactions between monomer units of the gel, the theory involves the counterion-monomer unit and counterion-counterion interactions in terms of the virial approximation. The character of interactions between different units in the system varies from repulsion to attraction depending on the type of solvent, counterion, and dielectric permittivity of the solvent. For solvents with a low permittivity, the effect of condensation of counterions resulting in the formation of ion pairs is taken into account.     

Magnetic ordering of YBa2(Cu1−x Fe x )3O7

The Mössbauer spectra of YBa₂(Cu_1?x Fe _x )₃O₇ at room temperature show several doublets attributed to Fe in Cu(1) sites with different oxygen configurations. Here we present a systematic study performed at 4.2 K forx=0.005, 0.01, 0.03, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15. To obtain information about the magnetic ordered state two samples, withx=0.005 andx=0.15, have been studied at 4.2 K underB _ext=5 T. The Mössbauer spectra indicate that the iron moments are polarized forx=0.005, while in the ordered state (x=0.15) they have an antiferromagnetic or spin-glass-like arrangement with high anisotropy.     

Cyclization of N-alkyl azinium cations with bifunctional nucleophiles. 21. Regioisomeric 1,3,4-thiadiazino[5,6-b]quinoxalines

Synthesis and cyclization of 1-arylalk-1-ene-3,5-diynylamines

An investigation of the reaction of 1-lithio-1,3-diynes, generated in situ, with nitriles has been carried out. In the case of aromatic nitriles 1-arylalk-1-ene-3,5-diynylamines are formed, which undergo dimerization and cyclization on isolation, giving 3-(alka-1,3-diynyl)-4-(alk-2-ynyl)-2,6-diarylpyridines. The effect of the nature of the substituent in the benzonitrile molecule on the selectivity of the reaction and the yield of the products has been determined. Non-aggregated Pd nanoparticles deposited onto catalytic supports

Nanostructured powders have shown great promise for a variety of applications including chemical gas sensors, high surface area supports for catalysis, tribology, chemical mechanical polishing, and optoelectronics. In this report, highly dispersed Pd nanoparticles with a narrow size distribution, and mean diameter of 2±0.2 nm, were deposited at room temperature onto amorphous carbon and oxide supports (TiO₂, Al₂O₃) by pulsed-laser ablation of a Pd sputtering target. Depositions were performed in Ar at a back-fill pressure of 3 mTorr after reaching a base pressure of 10^-7 Torr. Populations of uniformly dispersed particles with an interparticle spacing of 3 to 10 nm were observed by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy with little evidence of nanoparticle aggregation. The chemical compositions of individual nanoparticles were confirmed by high spatial resolution energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy.
