Summary Both hexacyanoferrate(III) and hexacyanoferrate(II) catalyze the oxidation of p-phenylenediamines by iron(III)aq. The rate of this reaction in the presence of a sample with an unknown amount of hexacyanoferrate is compared with the reaction rate of solutions containing well defined concentrations of this substance. In this way, hexacyanoferrate can be determined photometrically down to <10–9 mol/l. Although this procedure is very sensitive, the analysis can be performed with a simple photometer. Absorbance changes >0.2 can easily be obtained in 1 cm cuvettes, even at extremely small concentrations of hexacyanoferrate, because it is not an absorbance proportional to the concentration of hexacyanoferrate but rather the formation rate of p-semiquinonediimine which enables the quantitative determination of hexacyanoferrate. 相似文献

Acid-catalyzed substitutions on (perchlorofluoromethylthio)pyrroles and their agro-biological activities In the presence of C4F9SO3H the (perhalomethylthio)pyrroles 1a–c react with Cl3?nFnCSCl (n = 1–3) to give mixtures of the 2,5- and 2,4-disubstituted pyrroles 2a–f and 3a–h . 2a and 3a react with CF3SCl (catalyst CF3SO3H) yielding 2,3,5-tris (trifloromethylthio)pyrrole ( 4a ), which under similar conditions reacts further to give 2,3,4,5-tetrakis (trifluoromethylthio)pyrrole ( 5 ). As a by-product during the conversion of 3a to 4a 2,3,4-tris (trifluoromethylthio)pyrrole ( 4b ) is formed. The pyrroles 2a , 4a and 5 form the mercury salts 6a–c ; compound 5 yields also a silver salt 7 . We report for the first time on pore-suspending lipid bilayers, which we call micro-black lipid membranes (micro-BLMs), based on a highly ordered macroporous silicon array. Micro-BLMs were established by first functionalizing the backside porous silicon surface with gold and then chemisorbing 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphothioethanol followed by spreading 1,2-diphytanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine dissolved in n-decane. Impedance spectroscopy revealed the formation of single lipid bilayers confirmed by a mean specific capacitance of 0.6 +/- 0.2 microF/cm2. Membrane resistances were in the G omega-regime and beyond. The potential of the system for single channel recordings was demonstrated by inserting the transmembrane domain of the HIV-1 accessory peptide Vpu(1-32), which forms helix bundles with characteristic opening states. Inhibitors for matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) are under investigation for the treatment of cancer, arthritis, and cardiovascular disease. Here, we report a class of highly selective MMP-13 inhibitors (pyrimidine dicarboxamides) that exhibit no detectable activity against other MMPs. The high-resolution X-ray structures of three molecules of this series bound to MMP-13 reveal a novel binding mode characterized by the absence of interactions between the inhibitors and the catalytic zinc. The inhibitors bind in the S1' pocket and extend into an additional S1' side pocket, which is unique to MMP-13. We analyze the determinants for selectivity and describe the rational design of improved compounds with low nanomolar affinity. 相似文献

An immunological method for the determination of triazine herbicides covalently bound to soil humic acids has been developed. A sandwich-immunoassay has been performed, based on both polyclonal humic acid-antibodies and monoclonal triazineantibodies. A peroxidase-labelled third antibody has been used for the photometric detection. A triazine-humic acid conjugate served as calibration standard. The coupling density for this conjugate has been determined by measuring the difference of free amino groups both with ninhydrin and with the trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid method. In addition, the coupling density has been confirmed by scintillation counting using a (14)C-atrazine derivative. Due to nonspecific interactions between antibody proteins and humic acids, different blocking steps had to be performed. Finally, the assay has been applied to a triazine contaminated soil sample. Humic acids (including bound residues) have been extracted by diluted sodium carbonate solution. Concentrations of bound atrazine residues have been found in the range of 2 mg/kg soil on fields where triazine herbicides has been applied over a period of 21 years. Reactions of Iron Trichloride with Trithyazyl Chloride. Crystal Structure of [S4N4Cl]+[FeCl4]? Iron trichloride reacts with (NSCl)3 yielding S4N4[FeCl4]2, S3N3Cl2[FeCl4] or S4N4Cl[FeCl4], depending on the reaction conditions. The i.r. spectra prove the presence of [FeCl4]? ions for all three compounds. The 57Fe-Mössbauer spectra show a slight quadrupole splitting at 80 K for S3N3Cl2[FeCl4] (ΔEQ = 0.42 mm · s?1) and S4N4Cl[FeCl4] (ΔEQ = 0.23 mm · s?1), which indicates a slight deformation of the FeCl4? tetrahedra. The crystal structure of S4N4Cl[FeCl4] was determined and refined with X-ray diffraction data (2549 independent reflexions, R = 0.026). S4N4Cl[FeCl4] crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 with two formula units per unit cell. The lattice constants are a = 712, b = 911, c = 1006 pm, α = 76.5°, β = 83.8° and γ = 80.5°. The structure consists of the so far unknown [S4N4Cl]⊕ cations and slightly deformed FeCl4? ions. The [S4N4Cl]⊕ ion consists of a S4N4 ring built up of two nearly planar S3N2 fragments having a dihedral angle of 136°. The average SN bond length is 157 pm, the SCI bond length 214 pm. 相似文献

Novel alkaline earth metal aryl-substituted silylamides were prepared using alkane (Mg) and salt elimination reactions (Mg, Ca, Sr, and Ba). The salt elimination regime involved the treatment of the alkaline earth metal iodides with 2 equiv of the respective potassium amide KNDiip(SiMe(3)), (Diip = 2,6-i-Pr(2)C(6)H(3)). The organomagnesium source for the alkane elimination was ((n)()Bu/(s)()Bu)(2)Mg. All compounds were characterized using (1)H, (13)C NMR, and IR spectroscopy, in addition to X-ray crystallography (except Mg[NDiip(SiMe(3))](2)THF(2)).
