This paper is concerned with the hybrid method of boundary element and finite element techniques by means of an “external-super-element” function of the commercial finite element method code . The proposed super-element method preserves the modelling simplicity of the boundary element method and the generality of . A flexible nonparametric method is proposed for classifying high- dimensional data with a complex structure. The proposed method can be regarded as an extended version of linear logistic discriminant procedures, in which the linear predictor is replaced by a radial-basis-expansion predictor. Radial basis functions with a hyperparameter are used to take the information on covariates and class labels into account; this was nearly impossible within the previously proposed hybrid learning framework. The penalized maximum likelihood estimation procedure is employed to obtain stable parameter estimates. A crucial issue in the model-construction process is the choice of a suitable model from candidates. This issue is examined from information-theoretic and Bayesian viewpoints and we employed Ando et al. (Japanese Journal of Applied Statistics, 31, 123–139, 2002)’s model evaluation criteria. The proposed method is available not only for the high-dimensional data but also for the variable selection problem. Real data analysis and Monte Carlo experiments show that our proposed method performs well in classifying future observations in practical situations. The simulation results also show that the use of the hyperparameter in the basis functions improves the prediction performance.  相似文献

The influence of the oleic acid surface coating on Fe3O4 and NiFe2O4 nanoparticles on their magnetic and calorimetric characterization was investigated. Fe3O4 nanoparticles (particle sizes of 15-20 and 20-30 nm) and NiFe2O4 nanoparticles (particle sizes of 20-30 nm) were dispersed in oleic acid. The surface coating resulted in a decrease in the dipole-dipole interaction between the particles, which in turn affected the coercivity and heat dissipation of the nanoparticles. The coercivity of the oleic-acid-coated nanoparticles was found to be lower than that of the uncoated nanoparticles. The temperature rise in the oleic-acid-coated nanoparticles was greater than that of the uncoated nanoparticles; this temperature rise was associated with the relaxation losses. The viscosity dependence on the self-heating temperature of Fe3O4 nanoparticles (15-20 and 20-30 nm) under an ac magnetic field was measured. The temperature rise for both the Fe3O4 nanoparticles (15-20 and 20-30 nm) exhibited a strong dependence on viscosity at each magnetic field frequency, and the contribution of Brownian relaxation loss to the temperature rise was revealed. Moreover, an in vitro cytotoxicity test of Fe3O4 and NiFe2O4 was performed using human cervical carcinoma cells (HeLa), and the cytotoxicity of NiFe2O4 nanoparticles was compared to that of Fe3O4 nanoparticles.  相似文献

An InP-based Mach-Zehnder interferometer combined with a metamaterial layer consisting of a split-ring resonator array was constructed to measure the complex permeability of the metamaterial. At a wavelength of 1.5 μm, the metamaterial showed non-unity relative permeability induced by magnetic interaction with propagating light in the device. This method of measurement would be useful to determine constitutive parameters in such waveguide-based photonic devices, allowing us to design photonic integrated circuits that make use of metamaterials.  相似文献

We report a high-contrast, high-intensity Ti:sapphire chirped-pulse amplification system that incorporates a nonlinear preamplifier based on optical parametric chirped-pulse amplification (OPCPA). By cooling the Ti:sapphire crystal in the final amplifier down to 77 K, the chirped-pulses are amplified to 2.9 J at a 10 Hz repetition rate without a thermal lensing effect. Pulse compression down to 19 fs duration obtained after amplification indicates a peak power of 80 TW. With the OPCPA, the temporal contrast is significantly improved to better than 7x10(-9) in a few picoseconds interval prior to the main laser pulse.  相似文献

Up until now there has been no direct method for detecting the electronic and magnetic structure of each atomic layer at the surface, which is an essential analysis technique for nanotechnology. For this purpose, we have developed a new method, diffraction spectroscopy, based on the photon energy dependence of the angular distribution of Auger electron emission. We have applied this method to analyze the magnetic structure of a Ni ultrathin film on a Cu(001) surface around the spin reorientation transition. Atomic-layer resolved x-ray absorption and magnetic circular dichroism spectra were obtained. Surface and interior core-level shifts and magnetic moments are determined for each atomic layer individually.  相似文献

A new nanostructure-mediated approach was demonstrated to synthesize Eu3+-doped yttrium oxysulfates Y2O2SO4:Eu3+ giving rise to abnormally enhanced Eu3+ emission. Yttrium and europium salts, sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS), and urea at various Eu3+ concentrations were reacted in aqueous solution at 80, 85, and 87 °C to yield Eu3+-doped dodecylsulfate-templated yttrium oxide mesophases with straight-layered (S-type), concentric-layered (C-type) and layer-to-hexagonal transient-layered (T-type) structures, respectively. On calcination at 1000 °C, all of these mesophases were converted into Y2O2SO4:Eu3+ to exhibit luminescence bands including the 5D0-7F2 transition with a tendency in intensity to saturate or reach a maximum at 10-12 mol% Eu doping. The Eu3+ emissions for Y2O2SO4:Eu3+ mediated by the T- and C-type mesophases were enhanced in intensity by a factor of about two and three times, respectively, stronger than those for not only compositionally the same sulfate Y2O2SO4:Eu3+ obtained from yttrium-based sulfates but also Y2O3:Eu3+ obtained in the SDS-free system. In contrast, the emission intensities for the S-type-mesophase-mediated Y2O2SO4:Eu3+ were close to those for the latter sulfates. The abnormally enhanced emission is likely based on specific deformation of sulfate groups induced through the conversion of concentric dodecylsulfate-layers to straight sulfate-layers in the oxysulfate framework upon calcination.  相似文献

Microwave invasion into living bodies through a millimeter wave catheter irradiation is described. As radiation sources for millimeter wave irradiation tests both Impatt oscillator (IO) and a Gunn oscillator were used. Irradiated samples are cow livers and living rats. A newly designed wave-guide vent antenna (WVA) with an anti-reflecting layer (ARL) is used as a launcher for the irradiation and the reflectance measurements. The correlation between the denaturation of the tissue and the reflectance from the WVA is studied in detail.  相似文献

Changes in the spectrum of light scattered by space-time fluctuating random media are investigated theoretically within the accuracy of the second-order Born approximation, as a continuation of the previous paper [Opt. Commun. 123 (1996) 234]. Effects of multiple scattering on the resultant field are manifested by a number of illustrative examples. It is shown, in particular, that the spectrum of the scattered light to be observed under practical circumstances is distorted by the process of multiple scattering. Comparison between spectra of both single and multiple scattering lights is also presented in the framework of the dynamic scattering.  相似文献
