The syntheses and thermal and X‐ray powder diffraction analyses of three sets of aliphatic polyester dendrimers based on 2,2‐bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid as a repeating unit and 2,2‐dimethyl‐1,3‐propanediol, 1,5‐pentanediol, and 1,1,1‐tris(hydroxymethyl)ethane as core molecules are reported. These dendritic polyesters were prepared in high yields with the divergent method. The thermal properties of these biodendrimers were evaluated with thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry. The thermal decomposition of the compounds occurred around 250 °C for the hydroxyl‐ended dendrimers and around 150 °C for the acetonide‐protected dendrimers. In addition, the crystallinity of the lower generation dendrimers was evaluated with X‐ray powder diffraction. The highest crystallinity and the highest melting points were observed for the first‐generation dendritic compounds. The higher generation dendrimers showed weaker melting transitions during the first heating scan. In this study high molecular weight pure rye arabinoxylan and spruce arabinoglucuronoxylan were acetylated in ionic liquid (IL) systems. Two different ILs were used in our study. In both IL, using optimized procedures, it was possible to achieve acetylation within 5 min. The first system involved direct dissolution into 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium dimethylphosphate ([emim][Me2PO4]), followed by addition of acetyl chloride/pyridine (AcCl/Pyr) and additional chloroform (CHCl3), as co-solvent. The other system involved direct dissolution into the novel protic IL 1,5-diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non-5-enium acetate ([DBNH][OAc]), followed by acetic anhydride/1,5-diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non-5-ene (Ac2O/DBN) and no co-solvent added. The full acetyl substitution of the xylans was confirmed by FT IR and 1H NMR. The acetylated xylans maintained a high molecular weight, which was confirmed by gel permeation chromatography. The products were soluble in CHCl3 and dimethyl carbonate, which is considered as a ‘green’ reagent or solvent. This allowed for the casting of the materials into clear transparent films, opening opportunity for further processing and evaluation of these materials.  相似文献

Many well-established homogeneous separation free immunoassays rely on particulate label technologies. Particles generally contain a high concentration of the embedded label and they have a large surface area, which enables conjugation of a large amount of protein per particle. Eu(III)-chelate dyed nanoparticles have been successfully used as labels in heterogeneous and homogeneous immunoassays. In this study, we compared the characteristics of two homogeneous competitive immunoassays using either soluble Eu(III)-chelates or polystyrene particles containing Eu(III)-chelates as donors in a fluorescence resonance energy transfer based assay. The use of the particulate label significantly increased the obtained sensitized emission, which was generated by a single binding event. This was due to the extremely high specific activity of the nanoparticle label and also in some extent the longer Förster radius between the donor and the acceptor. The amount of the binder protein used in the assay could be decreased by 10-fold without impairing the obtainable sensitized emission, which subsequently led to improved assay sensitivity. The optimized assay using particulate donor had the lowest limit of detection (calculated using 3 × S.D. of the 0 nM standard) 50 pM of estradiol in the assay well, which was approximately 20-fold more sensitive than assays using soluble Eu(III)-chelates.  相似文献

Sampling and uncertainty of sampling are important tasks, when industrial processes are monitored. Missing values and unequal sources can cause problems in almost all industrial fields. One major problem is that during weekends samples may not be collected. On the other hand a composite sample may be collected during weekend. These systematically occurring missing values (gaps) will have an effect on the uncertainties of the measurements. Another type of missing values is random missing values. These random gaps are caused, for example, by instrument failures. Pierre Gy's sampling theory includes tools to evaluate all error components that are involved in sampling of heterogeneous materials. Variograms, introduced by Gy's sampling theory, have been developed to estimate the uncertainty of auto-correlated process measurements. Variographic experiments are utilized for estimating the variance for different sample selection strategies. The different sample selection strategies are random sampling, stratified random sampling and systematic sampling. In this paper both systematic and random gaps were estimated by using simulations and real process data. These process data were taken from bark boilers of pulp and paper mills (combustion processes). When systematic gaps were examined a linear interpolation was utilized. Also cases introducing composite sampling were studied. Aims of this paper are: (1) how reliable the variogram is to estimate the process variogram calculated from data with systematic gaps, (2) how the uncertainty of missing gap can be estimated in reporting time-averages of auto-correlated time series measurements. The results show that when systematic gaps were filled by linear interpolation only minor changes in the values of variogram were observed. The differences between the variograms were constantly smallest with composite samples. While estimating the effect of random gaps, the results show that for the non-periodic processes the stratified random sampling strategy gives more reliable results than systematic sampling strategy. Therefore stratified random sampling should be used while estimating the uncertainty of random gaps in reporting time-averages of auto-correlated time series measurements.  相似文献

By measuring excited state and charge dynamics in blends of an alternating polyfluorene copolymer and fullerene derivative over nine orders in time and two orders in light intensity, we have monitored the light-induced processes from ultrafast charge photogeneration to much slower decay of charges by recombination. We find that at low light intensities relevant to solar cell operation relatively fast (approximately 30 ns) geminate recombination is the dominating charge decay process, while nongeminate recombination has a negligible contribution. The conclusion of our work is that under solar illumination conditions geminate recombination of charges may be directly competing with efficient charge collection in polymer/fullerene solar cells.  相似文献

Optimizing heuristic search in forest planning   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Heuristic search methods are being used more and more in forest planning since the current formulations of exact methods such as linear programming are not suitable to all today's planning problems. A practical problem with most heuristics is that their performance greatly depends on the parameters that guide their search process. The effect of parameters is hard to know without extensive tests, but these tests cannot be conducted in forest planning practice, because of lacking time and experience. This study presented a method that uses Hooke and Jeeves direct search to optimize the parameters of a heuristic, taking into account the allowed computing time. The method was used to optimize three local-improvement heuristics in a non-spatial and a spatial forest planning problem, and with a short and long computing time. The heuristics were simulated annealing, threshold accepting, and tabu search, all of which are used in forestry. The results were logical and showed that while the optimal values of some parameters were rather constant the others were sensitive to problem type, allowed computing time, or problem size. The objective function value of the forest planning problem was not sensitive to small changes in the parameters of the heuristics. However, because computing time was very sensitive to many parameters, there was not much freedom to set the parameters if both the quality of the solution and speed of the algorithm had to be maintained.  相似文献

New manufacturing methods are being sought for electronics production. Printable electronics is a promising method for producing low cost and large-scale electronics. In printable electronics nanoparticle inks printed on the surface of substrate contain additives, such as dispersing agent and carrier fluids that provide good printing properties by changing the viscosity and separating the nanoparticles of the ink. In the sintering process ink particles are heated to a certain, ink-specific temperature. During the sintering process the carrier fluid and dispersing agents are evaporated from the ink. Additional heating after evaporation causes the nanoparticles to start to agglomerate. A small particle size allows the use of a considerably lower sintering temperature than with bulk silver, for example 220 °C. The sintering process is usually utilized with a convection oven, with a long sintering time, and the thermal load on the surrounding material can become too great as components and patterns are formed from layers of different type inks. Hence, alternative sintering methods are sought. This paper describes tests done with two different types of laser; pulsed and continuous wave lasers. Laser sintering enables short sintering times and selective sintering, making it possible for printed structures to contain fragile active components produced with other technologies.  相似文献

Highly conductive biocompatible graphene is synthesized using ecofriendly reduction of graphene oxide (GO). Two strains of non‐pathogenic extremophilic bacteria are used for reducing GO under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Degree of reduction and quality of bacterially reduced graphene oxide (BRGO) are monitored using UV–vis spectroscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. Structural morphology and variation in thickness are characterized using electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy, respectively. Electrical measurements by three‐probe method reveal that the conductivity has increased by 104–105 fold from GO to BRGO. Biocompatibility assay using mouse fibroblast cell line shows that BRGO is non‐cytotoxic and has a tendency to support as well as enhance the cell growth under laboratory conditions. Hereby, a cost effective, non‐toxic bulk reduction of GO to biocompatible graphene for green electronics and bioscience application is achieved using halophilic extremophiles for the first time.  相似文献
