Light scattered from biological tissues can exhibit an inverse power law spectral component. We develop a model based on the Born approximation and von Karman (self-affine) spatial correlation of submicron tissue refractive index to account for this. The model is applied to light scattering spectra obtained from excised esophagi of normal and carcinogen-treated rats. Power law exponents used to fit dysplastic tissue site spectra are significantly smaller than those from normal sites, indicating that changes in tissue self-affinity can serve as a potential biomarker for precancer. 相似文献

Analysis of regular and irregular acoustic streaming patterns in a rectangular enclosure 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
This study reports an experimental investigation of the non-linear phenomena of regular (classical) and irregular streaming patterns generated in an air-filled rigid-walled square channel subjected to the acoustic standing waves of different frequencies and intensities. The interaction of acoustic waves and thermoviscous fluids is responsible for these phenomena. The resonator’s walls are maintained at isothermal condition. Synchronized particle image velocimetry (PIV) technique has been used to measure the streaming velocity fields. The experimental results show that at a given excitation frequency, regular streaming flow patterns are observed up to a certain value of the excitation amplitude. As the amplitude increases beyond this limit, the regular streaming is distorted to an irregular flow structure. The regular and irregular streaming are classified in terms of streaming Reynolds number . It is found that for Res2<50, classical streaming flow patterns are established and then deform to irregular and complex shapes as Res2 exceeds 50. 相似文献

Nonexistence of time‐periodic solutions of the Dirac equation in an axisymmetric black hole geometry
We prove that in the nonextreme Kerr‐Newman black hole geometry, the Dirac equation has no normalizable, time‐periodic solutions. A key tool is Chan‐drasekhar's separation of the Dirac equation in this geometry. A similar nonexistence theorem is established in a more general class of stationary, axisymmetric metrics in which the Dirac equation is known to be separable. These results indicate that, in contrast to the classical situation of massive particle orbits, a quantum mechanical Dirac particle must either disappear into the black hole or escape to infinity. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

Karst springs of the Zagros Mountains contribute a significant amount to agricultural and human water demands of western and south-western Iran. For an adequate management of available water resources in semi-arid and arid regions, sufficient hydrological monitoring is needed, and hydro-chemical and isotope hydrological data provide important additional information. About 350 water samples were collected from precipitation, river water, and karst springs of the upper part of the Karkheh River Basin (20,895 km2) located between 33°35′ and 34°55′ North and 46°22′ and 49°10′ East with elevations ranging from 928 to 3563 m above sea level. Sampling was conducted in monthly time resolution from August 2011 to July 2012. All samples were analysed for hydro-chemical parameters (pH, electrical conductivity, and major ions) and stable isotopes (deuterium, oxygen-18). Isotope values of precipitation indicate a local meteoric water line (Zagros MWL δ2H=6.8 δ18O+10.1; R2=0.99) situated between the Mediterranean MWL and Global MWL. Spring and river water isotope values vary between?7.1 and?4.1 ‰, and?38 and?25 ‰ for δ18O and δ2H, respectively, responding to winter snowmelt and evaporation. This work implements stable isotopes and hydro-chemical information of springs and river water to understand hydrological and hydro-geological interrelations in karstic semi-arid areas and helps to improve the current water resources management practices of western Iran. 相似文献

New complex metallic alloys of the Taylor phase Al3Mn with 8, 10 and 12% Fe substitution are investigated by 57Fe M?ssbauer spectroscopy. Two groups of subspectra, with different hyperfine parameters are obtained, and are allocated to Fe sites with only Al nearest neighbors and Fe sites with both Al and Mn in the first shell. No difference between crystalline and quasicrystalline compounds is found indicating that long range periodicity plays a minor role. 相似文献

Magneto-resistance is measured across the micro-bridge filled with a
hole array near the superconducting transition temperature. It is
found that magneto-resistance minima occur when the number of
vortices is an integer multiple or a fractional multiple of the

The rotating waves within a hollow vortex core (polygonal patterns) are generated under shallow water conditions inside a cylindrical tank by a revolving disk at its bottom. We previously reported some basic features of these polygonal patterns during transition and at the equilibrium states. The present paper includes a more comprehensive investigation into the transition process of these polygonal patterns and expands the recent partial results that have been previously reported. We show that the parent wave (or the N-gon pattern) to disk frequencies ratio is around one-third (1/3) regardless of the flow conditions. A detailed insight into the transition process from the parent wave N-gon to daughter wave (N + 1)-gon is provided, which consists of two regimes, quasi-periodic and synchronized. Based on these observations, we explained the shrinking of the disk speed subintervals over which the N-gon patterns occur, when N increases. 相似文献

This paper reports that polarized far-infrared reflectivity measurements have been done on LiGaO2 single crystal along two crystalline taxes at different temperatures. The temperature dependent frequencies of the longitudinal and transverse optical phonon have been obtained from the real part of optical conductivity and the loss function respectively. A small Drude component is observed at frequency below 300 cm^-1 which could arise from Li ions or oxygen deficiencies. The ionicity of LiGaO2 has been studied from the analysis of the Born effective charge of different ions. 相似文献
