The effects of preparation process and starting material on hydrodesulfurization (HDS) activity of alumina supported ruthenium, molybdenum and ruthenium–molybdenum hydrotreating catalysts were investigated. Conventional impregnation method and gradual gas phase adsorption were compared as a preparation route. The HDS tests showed that controlled gas phase deposition is advantageous in the preparation of the monometallic catalyst systems. The most promising HDS activity was achieved with the RuMo/Al2O3 catalyst prepared from binuclear organometallic complex. This suggests that the direct ruthenium–molybdenum bond in the structure of the catalyst precursor favors the formation of highly active surface phase. The oxidation and reduction behavior of the catalysts was studied by oxygen pulse chemisorption (PCO) and temperature programmed reduction (TPR). A clear relationship was observed between the method of preparation and the reactivity of the surface species. 相似文献

Interactions of phenantrene, anthracene, pyrene, chrysene, and benzo[a]pyrene (polyaromatic hydrocarbons) with model phospholipid membranes were probed using the Langmuir technique. The lipid monolayers were prepared using 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine, 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoglycerol, 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoserine, 1,2-myristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine, 1,2-dilauroyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, and cholesterol. Surface pressure and electrical surface potential were measured on mixed phospholipid/PAH monolayers spread on a pure water subphase. The morphology of the mixed monolayers was followed with Brewster angle microscopy. Polarization-modulation infrared reflection-absorption spectroscopy spectra obtained on DPPE/benzo[a]pyrene showed that the latter interacts with the carbonyl groups of the phospholipid. On the other hand, the activity of phospholipase A2 toward DLPC used as a probe to locate benzo[a]pyrene in the monolayers indicates that the polyaromatic hydrocarbons are not accessible to the enzyme. The results obtained show that all PAHs studied affect the properties of the pure lipid, albeit in different ways. The most notable effects, namely, film fluidization and morphology changes, were observed with benzo[a]pyrene. In contrast, the complexity of mixed lipid monolayers makes the effect of PAHs difficult to detect. The structural characteristics of perhydrogenated carbon and boron nitride nanotubes are determined by means of quantum chemical calculations. Two families of nanotubes are systematically studied for both carbon and boron nitride, the nanotubes being derived from the perhydrogenated (110) and (111) sheets of diamond and cubic boron nitride. Single‐walled perhydrogenated carbon nanotubes prefer structures analogous to the (111) sheet. In clear contrast, the single‐walled perhydrogenated boron nitride nanotubes prefer structures analogous to the (110) sheet. The significantly different structural characteristics are due to the polarization of hydrogen atoms in the perhydrogenated boron nitride nanotubes. The presence of attractive electrostatic H? H interactions leads to a strong preference for multilayering of the boron nitride sheets and nanotubes. The results are expected to provide new insights into the structural characteristics of main‐group binary hydrides. 相似文献

Many chitosan biological activities depend on the interaction with biomembranes, but so far it has not been possible to obtain molecular-level evidence of chitosan action. In this article, we employ Langmuir phospholipid monolayers as cell membrane models and show that chitosan is able to remove beta-lactoglobulin (BLG) from negatively charged dimyristoyl phosphatidic acid (DMPA) and dipalmitoyl phosphatidyl glycerol (DPPG). This was shown with surface pressure isotherms and elasticity and PM-IRRAS measurements in the Langmuir monolayers, in addition to quartz crystal microbalance and fluorescence spectroscopy measurements for Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films transferred onto solid substrates. Some specificity was noted in the removal action because chitosan was unable to remove BLG incorporated into neutral dipalmitoyl phosphatidyl choline (DPPC) and cholesterol monolayers and had no effect on horseradish peroxidase and urease interacting with DMPA. An obvious biological implication of these findings is to offer reasons that chitosan can remove BLG from lipophilic environments, as reported in the recent literature. 相似文献

Molecular dynamics simulations were used to study the effect of periodic roughness of PE and PVC polymer surfaces on the hydrophobicity. Pillars of different lateral dimensions and heights were derived from flat crystalline surfaces, and the results of nanoscale simulations on the structured surfaces were compared with theoretical predictions of the Wenzel and Cassie equations. Hydrophobicity increased on all rough surfaces, but the increase was greater on the structured PE surfaces because of the larger water contact angle on the flat PE surface than the corresponding PVC surface. Equally sized pillar structures on the two polymers resulted in different equilibrium wetting geometries. Composite contacts were observed on rough PE surfaces, and the contact angle increased with decreasing contact area between the solid and the liquid. Opposite results were obtained for rough PVC surfaces; the contact angle increased with the solid-liquid contact area, in agreement with Wenzel's equation. However, the composite contact was observed if the energies of the wetted and composite contacts were almost equal. Good agreement was obtained between the simulated contact angles and equilibrium droplet shapes and the theories but there were also some limitations of the nanoscale simulations. 相似文献

The article describes the customer feedback system at a university hospital laboratory and the analysis of the feedback data
from clinical customers in 2001–2006. The most common subject matters of the feedback were suspicion of the validity of laboratory
results, delay in service and lacking test results, covering 82% of the 115 reports. The investigations of the cases revealed
errors or defects in laboratory services in 81 cases. The most common errors or defects were erroneous test results (35 cases;
43%), delayed test results (24 cases; 30%) and lacking test results (15 cases; 18%). The most common underlying causes for
a laboratory error or defect were unintended errors and non-compliance with operating instructions. Seventy-six percent of
the feedback reports led to corrective actions. It is important to react to every instance of customer feedback and to find
out possible errors or defects in the laboratory process. Uncovering the underlying causes makes adequate corrective and preventive
