We report the first experimental demonstration of an optical quantum controlled-NOT gate without any path interference, where the two interacting path interferometers of the original proposals have been replaced by three partially polarizing beam splitters with suitable polarization dependent transmittance and reflectance. The performance of the device is evaluated using a recently proposed method, by which the quantum process fidelity and the entanglement capability can be estimated from the 32 measurement results of two classical truth tables, significantly less than the 256 measurement results required for full quantum tomography.  相似文献

Ca 2p-3d resonant photoemission spectroscopy of a Cd6Ca crystalline approximant unambiguously demonstrates that the low-lying unoccupied 3d levels of calcium are lowered below the Fermi energy by the formation of the approximant, as suggested from electronic structure calculations [Phys. Rev. Lett. 87, 206408 (2001)]]. Moreover, the Ca 3d partial density of states (DOS) obtained near the Fermi energy is in reasonable agreement with theoretical Ca 3d DOS. These results verify the unconventional picture that the origin of the pseudogap in the Cd-based quasicrystals is due to hybridization of the Ca 3d band with the Cd 5p band.  相似文献

Using hard x-ray (HX; hnu=5.95 keV) synchrotron photoemission spectroscopy (PES), we study the intrinsic electronic structure of La(1-x)Sr(x)MnO(3) (LSMO) thin films. Comparison of Mn 2p core-levels with soft x-ray (SX; hnu approximately 1000 eV) PES shows a clear additional well-screened feature only in HX PES. Takeoff-angle dependent data indicate its bulk (> or =20 A) character. The doping and temperature dependence track the ferromagnetism and metallicity of the LSMO series. Cluster model calculations including charge transfer from doping-induced states show good agreement, confirming this picture of bulk properties reflected in Mn 2p core-levels using HX PES.  相似文献

Recent experiments on the addition of alkene and alkyne molecules to H-terminated silicon surfaces have provided evidence for a surface chain reaction initiated at isolated Si dangling bonds and involving an intermediate carbon radical state, which, after abstraction of a hydrogen atom from a neighboring Si-H unit, transforms into a stable adsorbed species plus a new Si dangling bond. Using periodic density functional theory (DFT) calculations, together with an efficient method for determining reaction pathways, we have studied the initial steps of this chain reaction for a few different terminal alkynes and alkenes interacting with an isolated Si dangling bond on an otherwise H-saturated Si(111) surface. Calculated minimum energy pathways (MEPs) indicate that the chain mechanism is viable in the case of C(2)H(2), whereas for C(2)H(4) the stabilization of the intermediate state is so small and the barrier for H-abstraction so (relatively) large that the molecule is more likely to desorb than to form a stable adsorbed species. For phenylacetylene and styrene, stabilization of the intermediate state and decrease of the H-abstraction barrier take place. While a stable adsorbed species exists in both cases, the overall heat of adsorption is larger for the alkyne molecules.  相似文献

This article reviews recent discovery and progress of copolymerization of CO with cyclic monomers such as methylenecyclopropanes and propylene oxide promoted by transition metal complexes. 2-Aryl-1-methylenecyclopropanes react with CO in the presence of the Pd catalyst under mild conditions (1 atm, room temperature) to afford the polyketones. The reaction involves alternating insertion of the two monomers and opening of the three-membered ring of the cyclic monomers. Mechanistic study of the polymer growth revealed that 2-aryl-1-methylenecyclopropane undergoes 1,2-insertion into the Pd–acyl bond and subsequent -alkyl elimination of the cyclopropylmethylpalladium group. A bicyclic methylenecyclopropane, 7-methylenebicyclo[4.1.0]heptane, also reacts with CO in the presence of the Pd complexes with diimine ligands to afford the polyketone with six-membered rings in the repeating unit. The NMR spectra of the polyketone indicate the regulated tacticity of the monomer units. Co complexes and a mixture of Co and Ru complexes with carbonyl ligands promote the copolymerization of CO with propylene oxide in the presence of amine additives under CO pressure at 50 atm. Structures of the produced polyesters vary depending on the reaction conditions.  相似文献
