Highly α‐selective sialylation of sialic acid N‐phenyltrifluoroacetimidate with various galactose and lactose acceptors has been achieved by introducing the C‐5 N‐phthalyl group on the donor. The “fixed dipole effect” of the N‐phthalyl group was proposed to explain the high reactivity and α‐selectivity. The microfluidic system was applied to the present α‐sialylation, which is amenable to large‐scale synthesis. The N‐phthalyl group was removed by treatment with methylhydrazine acetate, for which protocol can be readily applied to the synthesis of a variety of sialic acid‐containing oligosaccharides.   相似文献

In order to produce a novel keto-carotenoid in Escherichia coli, we introduced the marine bacterial carotenoid ketolase gene (crtW) into pathway-engineered E. coli producing carotenoids of plant origin, which carried the lycopene biosynthesis genes (crtE, crtB, and crtI) from soil bacterium Pantoea ananatis and the liverwort Marchantia polymorpha genes that encode lycopene β-cyclase (MpLCYb), lycopene ε-cyclase (MpLCYe), and β-carotenoid hydroxylase (MpBHY). A novel keto-carotenoid (1) was produced by these carotenoid biosynthesis genes in E. coli along with α-echinenone, adonirubin, and adonixanthin. The structure of 1 was determined as (3S,6′R)-3-hydroxy-β,ε-caroten-4-one based on Uv–vis, MS, 1H NMR, and CD spectral data. This compound was named 4-ketozeinoxanthin and showed anti-tumor-promoting activity.  相似文献

We propose an efficient quantum key distribution protocol based on the photon-pair generation from parametric down-conversion (PDC). It uses the same experimental setup as the conventional protocol, but a refined data analysis enables detection of photon-number splitting attacks by utilizing information from a built-in decoy state. Assuming the use of practical detectors, we analyze the unconditional security of the new scheme and show that it improves the secure key generation rate by several orders of magnitude at long distances, using a high intensity PDC source.  相似文献

We propose and demonstrate generation of an in-phase optical pulse train from an optical beat signal. The proposed method is based on four-wave mixing occurring between the two continuous waves of the beat signal and on spectral filtering to shape the spectrum to be symmetric about the carrier frequency. We perform an experiment to verify the proposed method and obtain a 1.5 ps width in-phase pulse train from a 160 GHz beat signal. Furthermore, we employ a pulse compression scheme to reshape and compress the obtained pulse train, and we show that a 160 GHz repeating, 0.7 ps FWHM, nearly transform-limited, in-phase sech pulse train is successfully generated.  相似文献

Seawater bittern (nigari) is a concentrated solution remaining after the crystallization process of salt that has been used as a coagulant for tofu. Recently, various nigari products are distributed in the East Asia. To clarify the properties of nigari products, major mineral composition of six nigari products was determined. Then, effects of the nigari on the browning and antioxidant activity during the glucose/lysine Maillard reaction were investigated. Though the predominant cation was Mg2+, the content was varied by each product (0.88–6.49 mol/L). The other major ion contents were also varied. Each 0.5 mol/L of d-glucose and l-lysine were incubated with the nigari (5–50 % (v/v)) or nigari-related salts (1 or 2 mol/L). The browning (OD at 465 nm) and antioxidant activity (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical-scavenging capacity and ferrous-reducing power) were increased remarkably by the nigari containing high Mg2+ content. The browning tended to be high with sulfates (Na2SO4, (NH4)2SO4). On the other hand, high content of MgCl2 decreased slightly the browning and antioxidant activity. These results suggest that the reaction and antioxidant activities were affected not only by salinity and cations but also by anions and other elements in the nigari.  相似文献

Pressure, volume, temperature (PVT) measurements reveal that during the intramolecular cyclization reaction of poly(acrylonitrile) (PAN) and poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile) (SAN) the volume decreases. This volume contraction becomes smaller with increasing styrene content in the random copolymers and should be related to the simultaneous decrease of longer acrylonitrile homo-sequences. The onset temperature of the cyclization reaction is raised with higher styrene contents in the random copolymers. Thus, it can be excluded that the cyclization reaction has a major influence on the discoloration process of SAN samples having relatively small acrylonitrile contents (less than 50 mol-%) during thermal annealing below 300°C.  相似文献

The molecular characteristics of sodium hyaluronate and amylose in various solvents are discussed by summarizing our recent studies. Data for the intrinsic viscosity and the radius of gyration are analyzed on the basis of the wormlike or helical wormlike chain, with excluded-volume effects taken into account by the Yamakawa-Stockmayer-Shimada theory. The unperturbed hyaluronate molecule in 0.2 M or 0.5 M aqueous NaCl is shown to behave like a wormlike chain with Kuhn's segment length of about 8 nm. Amylose in the unperturbed state is more flexible, regardless of the kind of solvent, its stiffness parameter being about one half that for the hyaluronate chain, but it assumes an irregular helical conformation similar to what is predicted by conformation analysis.  相似文献
