The mass spectra of 2- and 4-monohydroxy- and 2, 4-dihydroxy-1, X-naphthyridines

The mass spectra of 2-and 4-monohydroxy-and 2, 4-dihydroxy-1, 5-, -1, 6-, -1, 7-and 1, 8-naphthyridines are reported. Fragmentation mechanisms are proposed and discussed.     

Color reactions of pyridines with pentacyanoamminoferrate

Trisodium pentacyanoamminoferrate is proposed as a spot test, chromatographic spray or spectrophotometric reagent for pyridines. A 1:1 colored complex of the reagent and pyridine derivative is formed in aqueous solution. The intensity and stability of the color varies with the pH.     

IR spectra of selenophenopyrylium salts

On the basis of the IR spectra of 16 alkyl-substituted selenopheno[2,3-c]- and selenopheno-[3,2-c]pyrylium salts and a model calculation of the frequencies and the forms of their normal vibrations, an assignment of the frequencies of the skeletal vibrations of the heterocycles is put forward.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 11, pp. 1495–1497, November, 1973.     

Fluorosulfonyl-containing heterocyclic compounds

Hexafluoroisobutenylidene sulfate is a sulfotrioxidizing agent with respect to various olefins; methylenemethionic acid is formed in the case of ethylene, while the corresponding-sulfones are formed in the case of tetrafluoroethylene and vinylidene fluoride. 2,2-Difluoro-2-hydroxy-ethanesulfonic acid sultone is characterized by a capacity for anionotropic transformations; a number of sulfoacetic acid derivatives were obtained on the basis of this sultone.See [1] for communication III.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 2, pp. 178–182, February, 1973.
