Dehydropolymerisation of methylamine borane (H3B⋅NMeH2) using the well-known iron amido complex [(PNP)Fe(H)(CO)] (PNP=N(CH2CH2PiPr2)2) ( 1 ) gives poly(aminoborane)s by a chain-growth mechanism. In toluene, rapid dehydrogenation of H3B⋅NMeH2 following first-order behaviour as a limiting case of a more general underlying Michaelis–Menten kinetics is observed, forming aminoborane H2B=NMeH, which selectively couples to give high-molecular-weight poly(aminoborane)s (H2BNMeH)n and only traces of borazine (HBNMe)3 by depolymerisation after full conversion. Based on a series of comparative experiments using structurally related Fe catalysts and dimethylamine borane (H3B⋅NMe2H) polymer formation is proposed to occur by nucleophilic chain growth as reported earlier computationally and experimentally. A silyl functionalised primary borane H3B⋅N(CH2SiMe3)H2 was studied in homo- and co-dehydropolymerisation reactions to give the first examples for Si containing poly(aminoborane)s.  相似文献

Two imaged capillary isoelectric focusing methods were developed to provide insight into the quality and stability of messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) vaccines, specifically, mRNA encapsulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs). A variety of stressed and lipid composition-modified samples were measured and detected by their UV absorption. The results were supported by the data of an encapsulation assay and particle sizing. One method, using 9 M urea as an additive, shows two broad and jagged peaks in which the peak shape offers detailed information. The summed peak area of both peaks showed RSDs from 2% to 8% when one batch was measured in triplicate and apparently depends on the size of the LNPs. In the second method, a combination of 5.5 M urea and 2 M N-ethylurea was used. This method is characterized by a high repeatability of the isoelectric point (pI, <0.5%). The repeatable peak area (RSD of 2%–7%) correlates linearly with the mRNA content, which also applies to the first method, and added stress is evident by the change in pI and peak area. Furthermore, experiments with the addition of a fluorescent dye were performed (fluorescence detection), which tremendously increased the sensitivity of the methods. Both methods can be used to characterize the stability of mRNA-loaded LNPs, for example, when investigating various storage times at different temperatures and freeze–thaw cycles, as well as the ability of the methods to distinguish lipid compositions and measure batch-to-batch variability.  相似文献

Recently, there have been efforts to use ultraviolet-B radiation (UV-B) as a biotechnological tool in greenhouses. Leafy Brassica species are mainly considered for their ability to synthesize glucosinolates and are valued as baby salads. They also have a remarkable concentration of chemically diverse flavonoid glycosides. In this study, the effect of short-term UV-B radiation at the end of the production cycle was investigated without affecting plant growth. The aim was to verify which exposure and adaptation time was suitable and needs to be further investigated to use UV as a biotechnological tool in greenhouse production of Brassica species. It is possible to modify the flavonoid glycoside profile of leafy Brassica species by increasing compounds that appear to have potentially high antioxidant activity. Exemplarily, the present experiment shows that kaempferol glycosides may be preferred over quercetin glycosides in response to UV-B in Brassica rapa ssp. chinensis, for example, whereas other species appear to prefer quercetin glycosides over kaempferol glycosides, such as Brassica oleracea var. sabellica or Brassica carinata. However, the response to short-term UV-B treatment is species-specific and conclusions on exposure and adaptation time cannot be unified but must be drawn separately for each species.  相似文献

Conjugated polymers were grafted onto cellulose substrates in an effort to create a general method for the synthesis of conjugated polymer/cellulose hybrid materials. In this report, we describe the grafting of poly(fluorene), poly(fluorenevinylene), and a poly(fluorene‐ethynylene‐phenylene) onto modified cellulose paper substrates using Suzuki, Heck, and Sonogashira‐type polymerizations, respectively. The application of these three widely used coupling chemistries to surface‐grafted conjugated polymers on cellulose provides a general route to cellulose‐based hybrid materials tunable with almost any aromatic repeat structure for specific applications. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The statistics of records in sequences of independent, identically distributed random variables is a classic subject of study. One of the earliest results concerns the stochastic independence of record events. Recently, records statistics beyond the case of i.i.d. random variables have received much attention, but the question of independence of record events has not been addressed systematically. In this paper, we study this question in detail for the case of independent, non-identically distributed random variables, specifically, for random variables with a linearly moving mean. We find a rich pattern of positive and negative correlations, and show how their asymptotics is determined by the universality classes of extreme value statistics.  相似文献

We show that both single‐crystalline and nanostructured MgO surfaces convert free‐base tetraphenyl porphyrin (2HTPP) into magnesium tetraphenyl porphyrin (MgTPP) at room temperature. The reaction can be viewed as an ion exchange between the two aminic protons of the 2HTPP molecule with a Mg2+ ion from the surface. The driving force for the reaction is the strong stability of the formed hydroxyl groups along the steps and at defects on the MgO surface. We have used an integrated characterization approach that includes UV/Vis diffuse reflectance measurements on nanostructured powders, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopic investigation of atomically clean MgO(100) single‐crystalline thin films, and density functional theory (DFT) calculations on model systems. The DFT calculations demonstrate that MgTPP formation is strongly exothermic at the corners, edges and steps, but slightly endothermic on terrace sites. This agrees well with the UV/Vis diffuse reflectance, which upon adsorption of 2HTPP shows a decrease in the absorption band associated with corner and edge sites on MgO nanocube powders.  相似文献

Commercially available aroma samples were evaluated for their olfactory quality by professional perfumers and tested for their antimicrobial activity. Agar diffusion and agar-dilution were used as test methods and a set of two Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis) and four Gram-negative bacterial strains (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus vulgaris G, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Salmonella abony) and a yeast, Candida albicans, were the test microorganisms. All the investigated compounds were active against Gram-positive bacteria, especially beta-caryophyllene against Enterococcus faecalis (MIC 6 ppm), but only few substances showed activity towards Gram-negative bacteria, except for cinnamic acid, which was active against all (MIC 60 ppm) and Candida albicans, against which cinnamic acid and caryophyllene oxide showed high activity (MIC < 60 ppm).  相似文献

Melanoma inhibiting activity/cartilage-derived retinoic acid-sensitive protein (MIA/CD-RAP) is a small soluble protein secreted from malignant melanoma cells and from chondrocytes. Recently, we revealed that MIA/CD-RAP can modulate bone morphogenetic protein (BMP)2-induced osteogenic differentiation into a chondrogenic direction. In the current study we aimed to find the molecular details of this MIA/CD-RAP function. Direct influence of MIA on BMP2 by protein-protein-interaction or modulating SMAD signaling was ruled out experimentally. Instead, we revealed inhibition of ERK signaling by MIA/CD-RAP. This inhibition is regulated via binding of MIA/CD-RAP to integrin α5 and abolishing its activity. Active ERK signaling is known to block chondrogenic differentiation and we revealed induction of aggrecan expression in chondrocytes by treatment with MIA/CD-RAP or PD098059, an ERK inhibitor. In in vivo models we could support the role of MIA/CD-RAP in influencing osteogenic differentiation negatively. Further, MIA/CD-RAP-deficient mice revealed an enhanced calcified cartilage layer of the articular cartilage of the knee joint and disordered arrangement of chondrocytes. Taken together, our data indicate that MIA/CD-RAP stabilizes cartilage differentiation and inhibits differentiation into bone potentially by regulating signaling processes during differentiation.  相似文献
