Atomization processes for uranium in aqueous media and in the presence of a plutonium matrix have been studied and a chemical
mechanism is proposed. These studies have been utilized for the determination of uranium in plutonium by Electrothermal Atomization-
Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (ETA-AAS) within the constraints of its stable carbide forming tendency and complexity caused
by formation of plutonium suboxide at high temperatures. In spite of these limitations the analytical range obtained for determination
of uranium is 2.5–100 ng with a sample aliquot of 5 μL containing 5 mg/mL plutonium concentration. The precision of the method
is evaluated as 9% RSD.

Though the predictions of the standard model (SM) are in excellent agreement with experiments, there are still several theoretical
problems associated with the Higgs sector of the SM, where it is widely believed that some new physics will take over at the
TeV scale. One beyond the SM theory which resolves these problems is the Little Higgs (LH) model. In this work we have investigated
the effects of the LH model on γγ → γγ scattering [1].

Two-dimensional angular optical scattering (TAOS) patterns of droplets composed of a mixture of H2O and D2O are detected in the mid infrared. First, a lens is used in the Abbé sine condition to collect a small solid angle of light, where the scattering pattern matches well numerical simulations based on Mie theory. Next, TAOS patterns from droplets spanning a large (approximately 27pi sr) solid angle are captured simultaneously at two wavelengths. The effects of absorption are evident in the patterns and are discernible without the need for curve matching by Mie theory. 相似文献

The refractive index profile of buried graded-index planar optical waveguides fabricated by ion migration can be described by a buried secant hyperbolic function. Using such a profile, we have obtained the exact propagation characteristics for such buried optical waveguides. We have also shown that profiles which deviate slightly from the above profile can be treated as perturbations and a first-order perturbation correction gives very accurate results. 相似文献
