Accuracy and CPU time of JE-TLM,PLRC-TLM and CRC-TLM methods for plasma medium

The current density (JE), the piecewise linear recursive convolution (PLRC) and the constant convolution recursive (CRC) techniques are developed and integrated into the transmission line matrix (TLM) algorithm. A comparison of these three schemes according to the criteria of accuracy and CPU time is presented. Numerical experiments show that JE provides the most accurate solution and requires the least CPU time; PLRC is nearly as accurate but consumes more CPU time than CRC.     

Benzoxazinone synthesis via Passerini–Smiles couplings

Benzoxazinones are easily prepared using Passerini–Smiles couplings of o-nitrophenol derivatives. Palladium-catalyzed flow-hydrogenation of adducts gives aniline derivatives that cyclize into benzoxazinones on treatment with trifluoroacetic acid.     

Thermodynamics of Ion-Association of NaClO4 in Aqueous-Methanol and Aqueous-Glycerol Using Conductance Measurements

The conductance of NaClO₄ at (25–45)°C in methanol-H₂O, and glycerol-H₂O mixtures in a concentration range up to 10^?2 M has been measured. The association constant, K_A, values have been determined, where the conductometric data were analysed by a M S X computer using the Fuoss-Aprano method. The K_A values for NaClO₄ in methanol-H₂O are higher than in glycerel-H₂O mixtures, Also K_A values increase as the proportional of methanol or glycerol increases in mixture. The thermodynamic parameters ΔH°, ΔG°, and ΔS° were also calculated. It is obvious that the entire process of the ionic association in those systems are endothermic ones. The Walden products, Λ_oη were calculated for all systems investigated.     

The use of Omega Chrome Black Blue G in chelatometric titrations

Summary The reactions of Omega Chrome Black Blue G with a large number of cations is studied. This study has shown in many cases high sensitivity limits of detection of metals. It also showed that this dye can be used as an indicator for EDTA titrations of zinc, cadmium, manganese and lead. It is also a suitable indicator for the step wise titration of calcium and magnesium in blood serum and water.     

Mössbauer studies on one-dimensional iron phthalocyanines

Summary Magnetic moments and⁵⁷Fe Mössbauer spectra at room temperature and at liquid nitrogen temperature of polynuclear ligand-bridged iron phthalocyanines, FePcL (L = pyrazine and 4,4-bipyridyl), are reported. The experimental data are in agreement with a pseudo-octahedral environment around the iron(II) cation. Partially oxidized derivatives, FePc(pz)I_0.26 and FePc(bipy)I_1.06 have been synthesized and their⁵⁷Fe Mössbauer spectra and magnetic moments within the same temperature range obtained. Oxidation is shown to be metal centred and the iodine is found to be in I^– form for FePc(pz)_0.26 and as both I^– and I ₃ ^– species for FePc(bipy)I_1.06. While the magnetic moment of FePc(pz) increases upon oxidation, the opposite occurs for FePc(bipy).
